The Seattle Seahawks won the Super Bowl in 2014, and the city threw a parade in their honor. My day job let us scamper off to enjoy the festivities! And I can appreciate people getting excited about their fandom, even if I don’t participate in it. So I wanted to see the action. Got a few pics of it, and posted about it here .
This is me getting a shot of the crowd on Pine, between 3rd and 4th. I’m facing in the direction of Westake Park and you can see all the people who’ve climbed up to sit on the fountain over in the park itself.
Still at 4th and Pine, but this time getting a look at some of the fans who’ve climbed up into a tree to try to see better!
Another 4th and Pine shot, closer to the tree where the fans have climbed up. Across the way you can see the fans on the fountain in Westlake Park.
This is the crowd at 4th and Union, with balloons!
More of the crowd at 4th and Union, and somebody’s 12th Man flag!
A sea of blue at 4th and Union. And people up on the lamppost, too.
This is along 4th between Union and University. I snapped this one to note the 12 banner on the building across the way. And all the blue and green between me and the other side of the street, too.
More of me being on 4th, between Union and University. And oh hey look! Balloons!
People were swarming out onto the roofs of every building all along the parade route. And a lot of the buildings along 4th—all over Seattle, really!—were showing their colors.
Banner and balloons and fans watching from above!
This is at 4th and Pike, with a 12 flag and balloons and SO MUCH BLUE!
12th Man flag in front of the AT&T store on Pike.
Westlake Center had all SORTS of banners up. And a crowd jammed-packed along its outside balconies, as well.
Some very determined young fans got up into this tree.
Sea of fans at 4th and Virginia, with the Dahlia Lounge right beside me. Where we wound up eating lunch! 12 banner on the building across the way, too.
I was quite charmed by this sign. Somebody’s clearly a fan of Mr. Sherman.
And finally, the one shot I was able to get of anybody in the parade! Behold! Cheerleaders!
