Finally got Lakeview Manor started, setting up my third official home in this run and the first of the buildable ones! And also moved the Companions plotline a little further along, by assassinating a Silver Hand leader by the order of Aela the Huntress.
Plus, a side helping of bandit bounty, and as always, lots and lots and lots of smithing!
A bit more advancement of the main plot, as I made it up to High Hrothgar to get the Greybeards’ buy off on this whole peace conference idea. But also, I cleared Treva’s Watch and got in considerable exercise of Illusion and Destruction.
And, while on the way to Windhelm to ask Ulfric to show up for the peace conference, I finally found the Ebony Warrior!
I boinged around a lot in this session, but in between all of the fast traveling, I did actually also revisit the main plot! Which meant taking the Dragon Elder Scroll up to the top of the Throat of the World, learning Dragonrend, and having the first round of fighting with Alduin.
And Alduin was only one of the dragons I fought in this session, though unlike the two Revered Dragons and the Ancient one, he actually survived the fight!
Next to that, doing the Mind of Madness quest and getting the Wabbajack from Sheogorath was a relaxing vacation. :D
This was another very eventful session, with a lot of bouncing around between various locations, and some moving along of the main plot as well. Main-plot-wise, I’m to the point of having the Thalmor Embassy as the next major thing to do. Side-plot-wise, I got Dawnbreaker! And spent enough time in Whiterun that it felt a lot like an Alarrah session, really.
Which just goes to show that I need to get back to the Thieves Guild. Muahaha.
This session pretty much amounted to doing the rest of the preliminary work to get Merawen established enough as Dragonborn that I could get to the point of failing to find the Horn of Jurgen Windcaller… and then bailing to Riften.
Highlights and commentary and such behind the fold!
It’s a little odd being on a low level character again so soon after defeating Miraak and finishing up with a character at level 62. I have to remind myself that I can no longer do certain things I’d gotten used to while playing Alarrah!
Decided to go ahead and move forward with the next stage of the main quest last night, partly just because this one was particularly important plot-wise, but also because that stage was necessary to unlock the next stage of the White Phial quest! Highlights:
Went back to the college to follow up with Arniel, and learned from him that he was expecting yet another thing that Enthir had failed to deliver
Learned from Enthir that he’d done his part of the deal thank you very much, but the courier never showed up with the item
Tracked down the missing courier, who was dead in a previously visited dungeon, and brought back the item he carried to Arniel
Watched the delighted Arniel try to finish his experiment; this did, aheh, not go terribly well for the poor guy
Briefly explored north of the college
Headed next to High Hrothgar to ask the Greybeards about this Shout mentioned on Alduin’s Wall
Greybeards basically went “sorry we can’t teach you this Shout, we don’t know it, you’ll have to go speak to the leader of our order”
Went up the mountain to do that, using the newly learned Clear Skies Shout, and met the actual leader of their order
Had a rather lovely conversation with said leader, but he couldn’t teach me the Shout either; he could, however, point me in the direction of what to do instead, i.e., find an Elder Scroll
Headed back to the college to ask Urag in the Arcaneum about how to find an Elder Scroll
On the way into Winterhold, got a courier to hand me two letters at once, one for the next phase of the White Phial quest asking me to come back to Windhelm, the other another Letter from a Friend with a pointer off to another Word Wall
Got a side quest from the enchantment teacher to get an item from a client who wanted the school to enchant it for him
Got a side quest from Urag to find another important book for the college
Got to read two books about Elder Scrolls from Urag, and one of those triggered another important quest, Discerning the Transmundane
Closed in Whiterun to drop off things, smooch my Lydia (in headcanon, anyway!), and prep for the next run
