But he does call for it to end, when Eveshka collapses from the strain of her sending, and he shocks Ktai when she tries to flee the scene.

- Ktai asks Rayek if he cares for her; startled, Rayek admits to welcoming her presence, and Ktai promises she will remain with him.

- Azeure comes to the Palace in Neela's wake, ordered to bring not only Neela back to Blue Mountain, but Ktai and Ekuar as well; he winds up doing none of these things.

- Ktai grows increasingly strained in her attempts to soothe Rayek and keep him eased of mind, and believes herself a failure when she succumbs to sleep.

- Ekuar counsels Ktai on how best to prove to Rayek that she loves him, and how best to prove to herself that he cares for her, as well.

- Rayek seeks out Tilia, to try to make his peace with her -- and to gain her help in organizing the elves of the Palace against the harryings of Winnowill and her Chosen; in the meantime, as Azeure struggles against Winnowill sending to him, Ktai determines to resolve the problem by returning to Blue Mountain, but is talked out of it by Adi, who also claims that Rayek clearly loves Ktai.
- • Rayek's Rebirth (Part 2) -- 11/30/96
- Azeure determines that he will not obey Winnowill's order to forcibly return Ktai to the Mountain; Ktai finally determines that she cannot keep avoiding Rayek.
- • Rayek's Rebirth (Part 3) -- 12/2/96
- Rayek seeks out Ktai to learn why she's been troubled lately; learning that Alorn has come to the Palace, Rayek plans with Ktai, Ember, WolfFlame, and Neela how best Alorn might be dealt with; Ember calls Rayek 'chieftain', hotly embarrassing him. Ktai and Ember argue -- but Rayek breaks them out of it. Ember and Ktai go after him; then, despite the lurking astral presence of Winnowill, and in fact in defiance of it, the three retreat to Rayek's chamber. And join.

- After securing Azeure's heart by taking him to ber bed, Winnowill goes about securing his mind by crafting him a dream of the High One Haken.

- Alorn returns to the Mountain with only Saeros and not what she was charged to bring, instead informing Azeure of her Recognition to Saeros. Azeure takes the oppertunity to vie for a position... in Winnowill's bed. In the middle of it, Sar asks permission to attempt the creation of a child with Rhalina.
