Myriel's Returned -- 6/13/04
PreyRunner climbs to the top of the falls near Mist Valley Holt and finds an elf there. Their encounter is less than friendly, for the stranger's ends are as crazy as her appearance. PreyRunner brings the other elf down to the tribe, gets her bathed and given new leathers and a den to rest in till she is well and fattened up. The stranger eventually remembers her name--Myriel--but in her hunger she tries to devour an entire meal and gets a bellyache. StormCloud, the tribe's herbal healer, tries to help her, but she panics. Many things set her off: too many questions, too much sending, certain words, plant mush on her hand. The rollercoaster of emotion knows no stops.

Myriel of Lostholt has spent several turns with the elves of the Mist Valley tribe. She journeys along with them on a hunt to feed the starving tribe as well as the humans who have been dwelling near that Holt, and the hunting party reaches the territory south of Blue Mountain, well hidden and tucked away from the main pathways. But MoonPool has wandered off, and Myriel goes in search of her to deliver news that her wolf Brownbrow is dying. As Myriel draws nearer to the Mountain she finds the other she-elf--but to her surprise, she also finds one of her home tribe, Strongbow, who tells her the shocking tale of why Lostholt elves have journeyed to the Mountain as well.
