Intro

Hi all, Angela Korra’ti, a.k.a. Anna the Piper, here. I’m a computer geek, an author, an amateur musician, a fangirl for a lot of different fandoms, a former MUSHer, and in general a great big nerd. This is my website!

About My Tech Work

I’ve been in the computer industry since 1991, and have been using computers professionally as well as personally all my adult life. If you’d like to know more on this, check out my Tech Experience page, or the posts on the blog here under the category “SDET Work”!

About My Writing

I’m a published author, what the industry often calls a “hybrid”–which means I have work with a publisher as well as work I’ve released as an indie author. My epic fantasy trilogy The Rebels of Adalonia, written under the name Angela Highland, is available from Carina Press. My urban fantasy series The Free Court of Seattle is available from, well, me! All my books are available on all major ebook platforms, and you can find out all about them over on this site’s sister site, angelahighland.com.

Here on this site, though, I may commit periodic acts of fanfic. Check the Writing page for more on that!

About My Music

I’m not a professional musician–but I am an enthusiastic amateur! I play flutes and whistles and some guitar, and for the last couple years, I’ve been taking lessons on the fiddle. A lot of this has been fueled by my deep and abiding love of Atlantic Canadian traditional music, especially Great Big Sea and several Quebecois trad groups.

Here on this site you’ll find archived several MP3s thrown together by an old jamming group of mine called Three Good Measures. And if you’d like to hear other things I’ve noodled around with, I sometimes put them up on Soundcloud!

About My Fandoms

I have been known in my time to geek out extensively about Doctor Who, Battlestar Galactica, Firefly, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and especially Elfquest, Star Wars, and the Dragonriders of Pern books. The last three of these in particular were a huge driving force behind my history of playing on MUSHes from the early nineties up to 2005, and I still maintain an archive of my old MUSH roleplay logs here.

I’m also a lifelong Tolkien fan, a bit of a language nerd, and a bit of a photo nerd as well. Check out my Photos section for what I’ve shot with recent phones. Be on the lookout for bunnies!
