No-fur makes an appearance. POV is Trollkiller's. Most OOC commentary yanked, some left to illuminate RP decisions. Evening of June 16, 1998 realtime, early autumn IC time. Trollkiller climbs outside onto the lookout branch. Sentry Branch(#179RJL) This wide, side branch of the Old Willow overlooks the main clearing of the Holt, as well as the pond just towards Sun-Goes-Up. Less massive than some of its immediate neighbors, this nook in the giant willow tree is well-shaded and shrouded by the ever-blowing willow fronds. But an elf here can see out into the more open portions of the Holt, and even across the pond.... Trollkiller climbs higher, to the top of the Old Willow. Top Branches(#211RL) The top branches of the massive Old Willow surround a small hollow where a few elves might rest comfortably. With the coming of evening shadows have fallen among the leaves here, and the breezes through the limbs are cooler. Trollkiller slips through the fronds over to the intertwining branches. Branches Between the Willows Two strong branches, each wide enough for an elf to lie on comfortably, meet here over the space between the Old Willow and the Whisperwillow, and though the surrounding smaller branches are many, you can still see something of what goes on in the clearing below. With the ever-present willow fronds around you as well, this is a place of cool green shade. [OOC] Trollkiller locksends to Dusk, Trollkiller laughs and has wandered outside. ** Better come find me. ** [OOC] From afar, Dusk hehs [OOC] Trollkiller locksends ** la la la la hiding ** to Dusk. [OOC] Trollkiller locksends to Dusk, Trollkiller notes OOC of course that +twho shows where people are. :) [OOC] Dusk pages: And senses help, too ;) But... Dusk locksends ** Father? ** Trollkiller locksends to Dusk, Trollkiller hm? Dusk locksends ** Where are you? ** Trollkiller locksends ** Between the trees. Above little clearing. ** to Dusk. Dusk locksends ** Aye. I'm coming up. ** Dusk emerges through the fronds from the top of the Old Willow. Trollkiller leans back along one of the branches, looking up between the splines of the branches at the stars, lolling, with a full belly from a recent hunt. Trollkiller blinks and looks over at Duskdaughter and smiles, eyes half-closed. ** Hola, pretty... ** [Trollkiller looks at Dusk] Of average height, this lithely muscular elf wears no clothes, save a broad green band of soft leather that hangs over her right shoulder and splits in three further down: One band passing over her left breast, one below it, and the third curving down to her waist. The band is used for the sheer joy of decoration against the rusty fur that covers her from head to toe, streaked darker down her back and darker still around the clawed nails that grace both hands and feet, while turning paler against her belly, soft and well-groomed. Her headfur more closely resembles hair, twining down wildly, swept back from delicate, fine-tipped ears. Lupine eyes, no longer cub-round, are yellow, spring-green irises standing out against the shade. She is 40 turns old. ** Hello, Father, ** Dusk smiles as she joins Trollkiller on the branch, stopping to sit next to him. ** How are you? ** Trollkiller reaches over and stitches Dusk's back. ** Well. Well-fed, too. You? ** Dusk closes her eyes and grins wide, leaning towards her father and nuzzling at him. ** I'm well..and that feels really nice. ** Trollkiller nuzzles back, fingers digging into the rusty fur. Dusk turns a bit, so that she half rests in Trollkiller's lap, to look up at him. Her smile fades slightly, and she send-murmurs, ** I have something I need you to know about. I dunno if mother's told you yet. ** Trollkiller sends openly ** Um... told me? ** Dusk continues to look up at her father, her eyes betraying a bit of uneasiness and discomfort. ** Aye..about my name..? ** Trollkiller nods, suspecting he knows what's going on then. Trollkiller sends openly ** I ... would presume this isn't about your tribe-name... ** ** No... I talked to mother, and told her. Now I'm telling you. ** Dusk is otherwise still and quiet, save for her sendings. ** I have to go and find my name.. ** She wishes not to go, but it must be done. Trollkiller sighs. Trollkiller sends, ** Not unexpected, though. ** Trollkiller sends, a moment later, ** Any idea where you're going? ** Dusk shuts her eyes, wishing there was some other way to do this. ** Aye... it needs to be done. I'll miss all of you and I don't know how long it'll take.. ** She pauses, opening her eyes again. ** I'm not sure, yet. ** Trollkiller rubs your back, firmly, feeling your stress. ** There's nothing to be sorry about. Some of us need to go, to know ourselves. It's... broadening, I'm told. ** He thinks for another second, and sends, ** I suppose you've talked to No-fur... ** Dusk feels some of the tension within her starting to unwind as you rub over the muscles in her back, and she smiles. ** I'm looking forward to finding it, but I don't know how... I haven't talked to him about it either. ** Trollkiller nodnods. ** I... can't help you with that, I don't think. I kind of suspect No-fur can't really help you find what you really seek, but... he might be able to help you know what you need to do to find it. ** Trollkiller sends openly ** After all, he did this himself, once upon a time. ** [OOC] Dusk says, "Maybe he [No-fur] can come in, too?" [OOC] Trollkiller would be fine with that. [OOC] Dusk nods Dusk nods, biting gently at her lower lip, rather confused about all this. ** Maybe he can come up here. I'll see if he's around. ** No-fur emerges through the fronds from the top of the Old Willow. No-fur wanders over. "Both the furballs at once!" *wink* No-fur nuzzles dad. ** Heyla, father. ** Trollkiller smiles and waves at No-fur, as he lies on his back on the branch. Then he tosses a clump of dried leaves at No-fur. ** Impudent! ** No-fur ducks! ** What? What? ** Dusk is partially resting in her father's lap, heavier thoughts on her mind. She smiles a bit at the leaves tossed at her brother, though she doesn't laugh out loud like she normally might. Trollkiller sends openly ** You're just jealous that you have to wear leathers. ** No-fur grins down at the two. ** Well, I don't _have_ to. ** ** You better, ** Dusk teases momentarily, kicking out a paw at her brother. No-fur hmmms? "I better _what_?" Dusk sends openly ** You better wear leathers. <> ** Trollkiller sends openly ** Unless you want frostbit on your ass, of course... ** No-fur giggles, grinning, and starts to take off his shirt, just to tease. Dusk shuts her eyes, and grows serious again. ** No-fur, stop. We need to talk... ** She purses her lips, reopening them to glance between father and brother. No-fur ohs. Hurm. No-fur sits quietly on the branch next to the both of you, and fires off an idle scritch at Dusk. ** What's on your mind? ** ** Sometimes a lot of things, sometimes little... ** Dusk answers somewhat cryptically, looking to No-fur still. ** How did you find your name? ** No-fur cocks his head at Dusk. ** My soulname? ** Dusk sends openly ** Aye. ** No-fur traces his fingers through his half-sister's fur. ** Hmmmm... Luck, kinda. ** Trollkiller skitches and rubs Dusk's shoulders. No-fur sends openly ** I set off on this big long journey... Didn't really know where I was going, or when I'd be back. ** ** Where did you go, then? ** Dusk wonders fuzzily, feeling soothed by both Trollkiller and No-fur's hands upon her. No-fur tries to remember, continuing to scritch. ** North, if I remember right. Doesn't really matter, if you want the truth. ** No-fur sends openly ** Because I didn't find it there. ** Dusk sends openly ** So... you had to keep going..? ** No-fur looks down for a minute. ** Probably should have. ** No-fur sends openly ** Didn't, though. I just gave up. ** Dusk remains still, and nods. ** What happened, then? ** No-fur keeps scritching. ** I came home. ** No-fur sends openly ** Stopped to rest, and think, less than a day outside the holt. ** Dusk mrrrs softly, listening. No-fur sends openly ** It came to me somewhere in there. Those last couple of days I don't remember all that well... I was pretty down at the time. But it's like, I turned around, and it was just _there_. ** Dusk looks up to her father, smiling. The smile is also given to No-fur. ** I think I remember now.. ** She wonders how it'll go for her. No-fur scritches Dusk's headfur. ** I'm told that isn't usually the way things go, though. ** Trollkiller sends, ** Yeah, usually it's the first place you stop. ** Trollkiller giggles. No-fur baps his father playfully. Trollkiller ow Dusk smiles, giggling faintly. She mrrrs again at No-fur as he scritches at her head, while a hand lifts towars her father. ** I hope it goes well for me, then. ** No-fur tilts his head. ** Leaving? ** Dusk sends openly ** When the time is right for it... I feel like I have to go, but not that I have to go right now.. ** No-fur keeps scritching. ** Well, I'll hardly mind if you stay. You're nice to have around! ** Trollkiller nuzzles Dusk's headfur. No-fur nuzzles Dad's headfur. :) Dusk nuzzles... nobody. She shuts her eyes and continues to smile. ** Thanks, No-fur... and father. ** No-fur nuzzles both. :> Trollkiller leans over and hugs Dusk, and No-fur too, since he's in range. ** You go, as you need to. You come back, when you're ready. ** Dusk's arms wrap around her father and part-brother, leaving her eyes closed as she returns the hug to both. ** Aye, father. I'll be back, sometime. ** She feels better about things, having been able to get it off her chest. Trollkiller sends openly ** Don't be gone _too_ long. We'll miss you, after all. ** No-fur grins, and nuzzles fur-father. "Betcha didn't miss me at all." Trollkiller baps No-fur. No-fur ows! No-fur grins. ** I'll try not to be, father, but you know I can't help how long I'm gone. ** However, Dusk thinks for a moment, and amends that. ** But if it takes too long, I'll try to let you know how I am. ** Trollkiller nods. ** That much I do ask. ** No-fur nuzzles the Dusk s'more. "Better let me know, too." Dusk nuzzles No-fur back, then shifts to nuzzle Trollkiller, both on the cheek. ** I will. ** No-fur nips Dusk playfully. ** Good. ** Trollkiller agrees. ** Good. ** "Eep!" Dusk giggles, swatting at No-fur just as playfully. No-fur meeps. "Hey!" Trollkiller laughs. ** Swat the No-fur ** No-fur looks all cute and innocent. Dusk grins at her father, and a spark lights in her lupine eyes, green-on-yellow. ** Hunt No-fur! ** She grins at him. Trollkiller growls through shown teeth. ** Hunt No-fur! ** No-fur uh-ohs. No-fur starts to scoot away. Dusk matches her father's growl with another one of her own, baring her teeth as well. She begins to stalk towards him. No-fur scootscootscoot. Dusk sends openly ** Hunt No-Fur! ** Trollkiller pads around with Dusk towards No-fur. Growling. ** Hunt No-fur! ** No-fur backs up, all the way to the trunk of the tree. Dusk busts out towards No-fur, reaching towards him. "Ayooooah!" she sounds! No-fur bolts. :) No-fur climbs down into the clearing below. Trollkiller answers Dusk's howl, and follows her lead after No-fur. ** Hunt! ** [OOC] Dusk says "Leave it at that?" [OOC] Trollkiller figgers so. [OOC] Fuzball says "How boring. :>" [OOC] Dusk grins. Fun though [OOC] Trollkiller pbt at nofer and needs bed. (after hauling yard waste out. forgot. damn.) [OOC] Fuzball has his way with Dusk before everyone goes. :> [OOC] Trollkiller sends, ** was fun, g'night all. oh, i logged. may clean up myself, may hand to rill for cleanup and web posting. ** [OOC] Trollkiller flees. ----- end log -----
