Fearing that this might mean likewise for Dusky, Silvie also checked Dusky out after Rill asked Winnowill to leave, without permission from Dusky beforehand..., and also found that touch there. In a much stronger presence than was on Joy. The 'need' is there... (If you don't understand, Dusky, ask Rill or myself to clarify. :) However, this means that Silvie is definitely not going to let Dusky go without that touch cleansed, to make sure that Dusky makes this decision -on her own-. Just like Joy. :) We'll need to RP things timetravelish, as Winny is currently back in the Mountain. :) -Vixen! ============================================================================== Options: +proof, +send, +toss, +cc , +bcc , +edit =/ (where mail part=to, cc, bcc, subject or text), +set mail flag [!] (where flag=urgent (u), private (p), registered (r) or reply requested (rr)) You locksend ** Dusk..? ** to Duskshadow. Duskshadow locksends ** Sure (= ** Dusky's Den(#8231RAHJL) This is a cozy den, large enough for a few guests, but not a large gathering. There are furs strewn about randomly, giving this place a real lived-in look. There is an extensive network of vines and branches along the ceiling (for Chin to scamper/play/sleep in/on). Contents: Duskshadow(#8488PIXc) Chin(#8509Ip) Obvious exits: Furs Out Silversong lets the flap fall again behind her. "I needed to talk with you... about why you're going." Duskshadow grins lopsidedly, trying to hold back a yawn... Silversong glances up at the rodent on the vines, and she chuckles a little, remembering something fondly. Duskshadow nods, slowly, thinking back on last night... "It feels...kinda muddled...but we didn't have anything of Sweetleaf's..." Chin chitters at the elf. Silversong nods softly. "I know. Mother helped some with that..." Duskshadow looks embarrased for a moment, then quickly offers Silversong a seat beside her on the furs..."Watch out for Fhen, he's still asleep" Silversong chitters back, in perfect flying squirrel. However, who around here understands that? :) Silversong sits down beside you, and she nods. "Aye... I'll be quiet." Duskshadow smiles. "Now, you said something about your mother? Silversong nods softly, and she simply asks, "Why are you going to the Mountain?" Duskshadow says "It just...well...it seemed like it would really help her out...like it was something she wanted..." You say "She said something, to you, though... something that seemed to excite... or anger... you." Duskshadow says "Well, at first, she was pushing stuff at me...like, in my mind, and it >hurt<" Silversong nods, understanding. "Go on." Duskshadow rubs her eyes, still feeling muzzy. "I don't remember../why/ I changed my mind." (shakes her head) "I DO remember that I didn't want Fhen involved..." Silversong nods softly. "You were angry at him. Upset." You say "I do remember seeing that." Duskshadow looks down at her sleeping son. "He wouldn't listen to me, then started interfering! I was handling things, but he came out, and yelled at her." You say "But the question remains, Duskshadow... were you handling it, or was mother?" You say "Or rather, was mother handling -you-?" Duskshadow's eyes widen, as she realizes the /anger/ present inside her, directed at her son...."He was just...acting like a son..who was worried about his mother...and I /yelled/ at him for it" Silversong nods quietly. "I don't think you're to blame for that, though... I think mother... 'suggested' it." Duskshadow rubs her temples..."My first day back as a mother...not a good way to start" Silversong nods. "And yet, you don't know why you decided to go? No reason, at all?" Duskshadow says "Well, the idea of someone having to carry around a troll collar certainly isn't a pleasant one...but I certainly have no wish to go travelling..." You say "You don't know, then, why you decided to go, leaving Fhen behind?" Duskshadow blinks several times, her brow furrowed as she tries to remember through the fog that is last night, then shakes her head "Nothing besides a strong impulse to >go<.." Silversong nods softly. "Mother decided for you, then... she did the same with Woodhawk..." Silversong lifts her hand slightly. "May I?" Duskshadow nods absently, chewing her lip as she thinks, then asks, finally "Why...does she do such things?" Silversong lifts her hands to your temples, a slight shimmer forming around her fingers. "I don't know... we all would have done much for her, if she had simply asked instead of tried to take by force..." she murmurs, closing her eyes, her own magic seeking out those places her mother touched. Duskshadow sits still, trying to ignore the feeling that someone is prodding around and sifting things in her mind...which is precisely what is happening... Silversong frowns slightly, feeling that remaining -need-, that she felt so strongly in Woodhawk's mind.. and seeking out to clense it. "She's changed," she whispers slightly, again stating the obvious. "She wouldn't have tried this before..." Duskshadow tilts her head slightly, and peeks at you "mmm?" Silversong opens her eyes, looking into yours. "She used to have one place in her heart, that was kind... I saw it. But... it's gone." She grins slightly. "Chitter things it died of malnourishment." Duskshadow brightens at the sound of her lifemate's name, and nods thoughtfully. Silversong smiles, lowering her fingers away from your face, her task completed. "There..." You say "Now, you can choose what you wish to do... but if you choose not to go, Duskshadow... don't send, or talk, to mother again, until she's gone." Duskshadow nods. "Yeah, that makes sense...I _don't_ like having my mind messed with." Silversong nods softly. "Aye... But if she does try anyways," she continues, reaching down into her pouch and pulling a small, red fruit out, "eat this. Sweetleaf made it especially for these type of manipulations... He called it a rosecherry, because it smells like the first and grows like the second." Duskshadow takes the strange fruit, turns it over in her hands, and nods to Silversong. "I will. Sweetleaf has helped me before, and I trust him implicitly." Silversong gives you a gentle hug, and she smiles. "I'm glad your staying... I think Fhen and Chitter will be even more so." Silversong giggles softly. "Chitter was convinced, this morning, that if you were going, he would be going with you too." Duskshadow returns the hug, smiling "Yeah, I think so , too" Silversong smiles. "Remember, if she sends to you, munch on it," she gestures to the fruit. "And I'm sure if you use that, Sweetleaf will be only too glad to get you more." ============================================================================== To: ^willowholt (global mail alias), and Winnowill Subject: ElfQuest III: The Revenge of Silvie ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Doing a good deal of timetravelling back, to the morning following Winnowill's leaving the holt (assuming that Winnowill and the Gliders would be waiting for Joy and Dusky to come out, tho'), Silvie spent a good deal of time talking and unbrainwashing Dusky. :) Thus, as a result, Dusky has decided -not- to go, decided of her own free will this time, and thanks to Sweetleaf, has a good bit of protection from a repeat performance. :) Joy, however, is probably still going to be going. -Vixen! ============================================================================== Options: +proof, +send, +toss, +cc , +bcc , +edit =/ (where mail part=to, cc, bcc, subject or text), +set mail flag [!] (where flag=urgent (u), private (p), registered (r) or reply requested (rr)) Silversong smiles, and gives you another soft hug. "I need to go check on Joy." Silversong smiles, and slips out. You push aside the treehorn hide and climb into the Whisperwillow, feeling the hide swing back over the hole as you leave. In the Whisperwillow(#227RL) The Whisperwillow's inner branches surround a hollow large enough for three, perhaps four elves to gather. The hollow is well-curtained by the willow's fronds, yet is still a cool and airy place, and the sound of the breeze ruffling through the branches is what gave this tree its name. Evening falls clear and cold over the snow-covered Holt. The first stars of evening appear above. Obvious exits: Songmaker Duskshadow Branches Between the Willows Down Skywatching Branch You climb out to the branches between the willows. Branches Between the Willows(#206R) Two strong branches, each wide enough for an elf to lie on comfortably, meet here over the space between the Old Willow and the Whisperwillow, and though the surrounding smaller branches are many, you can still see something of what goes on in the clearing below. With the ever-present willow fronds around you as well, this is a place of cool green shade. Evening falls clear and cold over the snow-covered Holt. The first stars of evening appear above. Obvious exits: Whisperwillow Shadewillow Old Willow Clearing You climb across to the branches of the Shadewillow. In the Shadewillow(#203RL) This... nook?... is half-open, not really a true chamber, but more an area born of graceful shapings of this willow's limbs and fronds. Some of the branches wind delicately about to provide places to perch easily; others reach upward to form the underside of a green canopy of fronds just overhead, while still more reach over to interwine with the branches of the nearby trees. Evening falls clear and cold over the snow-covered Holt. The first stars of evening appear above. Obvious exits: Chitter's Den Crystal and Acorn Simmel's Den Dawn and Zalen's Den Down Branches Between the Willows You climb down into the Shadewillow's heart. In the Shadewillow(#234RL) This tiny, vaguely round chamber has walls that feel even and smooth to the touch; to keen elfin senses, they hint at being very recently shaped. The entire little chamber is subtly veiled in half-light flickering in through the curtain of willow fronds, just outside. Evening falls clear and cold over the snow-covered Holt. The first stars of evening appear above. Obvious exits: Joy's Den Out Up You locksend ** Joy? ** to Joy. Joy locksends ** Yes ** You locksend ** May I talk with you? ** to Joy. Joy locksends ** Sure... ** Joy's Den(#924R) A rather large den, warm and cozy nonetheless. It is circular in shape with a sitting ledge along the round wall, covered with furs. At the opposite end of the den is a sleeping hollow a few feet off the ground. Nicks in the wall allow one to step up to the hollow with is literally overflowing with soft, inviting furs. Contents: Joy(#661PXceoq) Obvious exits: Niche Out You walk into Joy's den, pulling the fur shut after yourself. Joy glances up, packing a few extra things it seems. Silversong slips quietly in, letting the fur fall closed after her. "I checked, as you asked..." Joy nods slightly, curious. Silversong gives a slight sigh. "The touch is there. I don't know exactly what she did... it's not like what she did to Woodhawk... or Duskshadow. But it's there." Joy sighs as well. You paged Joy with 'The real hillarious thing about all this.. is that what Winnowill did was -harmless-. :) Joy's choice to go, really is Joy's! :) Ain't paranoia fun tho'? :)'. Joy pages: Yep :) You say "A tiny bit of healing, and something else... the remainder of something else. I'm not sure." Joy glances down, pausing a moment. Then she resumes packing extra furs. Silversong nods softly. "I just wanted to tell you... and I'll be waiting for your return." Joy sends openly ** How is my Mother?? ** Silversong looks away, to the door. "Rill has asked Winnowill to leave the holt, and she has... they wait outside the holt." Joy nods slightly. Silversong sends openly ** Worried. ** Joy nods slightly, grabbing her pack and heading out. Silversong gives you a soft hug before you head out. "Good luck..." Joy sends openly ** Thanks.. ** Joy pulls back the fur and heads out. Joy has left.
