Rillwhisper, Woodhawk, and Trollkiller's Den Neither very small nor very large, this den seems spacious enough to perhaps hold five or six elves easily. Many pillows and blankets are scattered about its floor, some on the large pile of sleepfurs beneath a small window-hole looking out towards Sun-Goes-Down. Here and there along the walls are shaped small candle-nooks, in the shapes of leafy nests; the candles they hold, lit for the falling of evening outside, cast flickering light across the den. Near one end of the sleepfurs, a shelf-like ledge is set into the living wood of the tree. A hide-covered crawl-hole leads out into the heart of the willow; another crawl-hole, but this one uncovered, leads off to the side, into another den. "Just the guy I was looking for..." You paged No-fur with 'I tried to find you last night, but you weren't there... I got on late anyway...'. No-fur pages: I was on and off all night. Sorry about that. You paged No-fur with 'That's okay... anyway... how d'ya want to set this up?'. No-fur pages: Hmmm... Give me a minute, and I'll probably untangle myself from Dawn and come seeking you out. Long distance to No-fur: Trollkiller giggles. *I see he's becoming more like his father. :-) * No-fur pages: Well, he was hoping that everything that seemed wrong was just because Autumn wasn't around, and that having Dawn would take care of it. No-fur sends *Fur-father... Can I come in?* You send to No-fur, Trollkiller stretches and yawns. *Hi! Of course you can...* No-fur crawls in from the tree's center chamber. No-fur has arrived. No-fur hugs his fathers, quietly. Trollkiller nuzzles No-fur, sensing disquiet. No-fur sits quietly.. *Father... Tell me about your soulname...* Trollkiller looks surprised. *Um...* Trollkiller sends, *How do you mean?* No-fur takes a moment to try to figure out what he means. No-fur says "Dawn says she thinks it's time that I found mine.. I don't know how..." Trollkiller ahs, and looks contemplative. *You're of an age to find it.* No-fur watches you quietly. Trollkiller bites his lower lip. *Well...* Trollkiller sends, *It's best that you find it yourself. We know it, of course, but you know that's not the *right* way to get it for yourself...* You paged No-fur with 'Hm. Wonder if a Wolfrider would really think it necessary to say that. You'd _know_. Oh well. :-)'. From afar, No-fur chuckles. No-fur looks at you... *You're not answering the question, Fur-father...* You paged No-fur with 'Um? Did you ask a question? I didn't see it.'. No-fur pages: Hmm... He was implying a question earlier, when he asked you about your soulname, and finding his.. I guess he's not exactly happy with the answer so far. :) Trollkiller thinks. *But what do you want me to explain?* Trollkiller sends, *I... fell into mine, I suppose. It was always with me. This isn't usually the way it works, but it did so for me.* No-fur sighs. *How do I find it?* No-fur sends openly *Why can't I just know it, like yours?* Trollkiller hms. *It's more that... it finds you, eventually.* Trollkiller sends, *Sometimes it's easy. Sometimes, people have to go looking...* No-fur sends openly *So I should just stay here and sit and hunt, then? And wait?* Trollkiller sends, *You... might not.* Trollkiller looks over to the far wall and rubs Woodhawk's legs lightly. Trollkiller sends, *Sometimes... that helps.* Trollkiller stares at the wall. *I don't know why.* No-fur sends openly *What would YOU do?* Trollkiller squeezes Woodhawk's leg a little too hard, and Woodhawk murmers a little. Trollkiller sends, *I...* Trollkiller opens his mouth, as though to speak, closes it, and licks his lips, nervously. Trollkiller sends, *I... don't know.* No-fur watches you. *Fur-father?* Trollkiller grabs No-fur and squeezes him close. No-fur puts his arms around you, squeezing back instinctively. Trollkiller sends, *You want to leave, don't you...* No-fur sends openly *I don't know... Maybe, I guess..* No-fur says, "Dawn says it'll help me.." Trollkiller nods, nuzzling your neck as he does so. *All alone... your head will be free of distractions. You'll be with yourself and only yourself, and...* Trollkiller sends, *It might let you clear your mind.* No-fur half-smiles as he's nuzzled.. and goes back to his solemn look. *I'm not sure I want to be alone...* Trollkiller sends, *When... when people would go off in Redbear's day, they always went off alone. But we knew of almost no others, and the humans were much, much more of a threat than now.* No-fur says "But where would I go?" Trollkiller sends, *I don't know. They never did either, I don't think...* Trollkiller sends, *I think that's part of it.* Trollkiller sends, *You could go visit one of the other tribes, I suppose. Many seasons ago, the three of us went to a place far away called the Sun Village...* No-fur nods. *I remember you talking about it..* Trollkiller sends, *There are other places to go - many of which I've not been.* No-fur sends openly *You wouldn't be mad at me.. If I wanted to go?* Trollkiller shudders. *No. But only if you came back.* No-fur hugs you. *You think I wouldn't!?* Trollkiller sends, *You are a wolfrider, free to run with the pack, or run alone.* Trollkiller smiles, halfway. *You know how I am.* No-fur sighs. *I don't know.* No-fur pages: He meant, he didn't know what he wanted to do, not that he didn't know how you were. :) Trollkiller sends, *If you need to go... do so. It is not my place to stop you, and I'll understand - and love you, just as much.* Trollkiller sends, *Just come back eventually.* Trollkiller sends, giggling a little bit, *Preferably sooner than later.* No-fur tries to hide a smile. Woodhawk murmers something unintelligable. Trollkiller sends, *And I'll have this pretty one to keep me company. Think I should surprise him awake?* No-fur grins, and nods.. You paged No-fur with 'Assume he's sleeping on his stomach. :-)'. Trollkiller crouches on his legs, behind Woodhawk, quietly sneaking into position.... No-fur giggles. Trollkiller snarls out loud and *POUNCES!* full-body onto Woodhawk (who is, fortunately, asleep on a rather thick pile of furs.) Woodhawk lays there like a lump. Trollkiller blinks. *Huh?* No-fur laughs! Woodhawk fails to stifle a giggle. Trollkiller gives a goofy look to No-fur. *Figures. He's been awake the whole time.* No-fur grins at his fathers. Woodhawk giggles more, and, from the furs, muffles, "Actually, not the whole time." Trollkiller tickes Woodhawk at the hips. *Well, if you're going to be awake, then _be_ awake...* No-fur crawls over quickly, lending a hand tickling. Woodhawk starts jerking around, laughing in little hard gasps. Woodhawk says, "AGH!" Trollkiller keeps tickling, trying to stay on Woodhawk. Woodhawk looks at No-fur. "No fair helping him! He already outweighs me!" No-fur considers for a moment. Then tickles more. Woodhawk shrieks, then catches Trollkiller in a moment of giggles, and flips him down into the furs. Trollkiller rolls over on the furs, pulling Woodhawk on top, reaching down between his legs and tickling there, too. *I know _all_ your places, lover...* No-fur makes an attempt at tickling Trollkiller, now that he's pinned down conveniently. Trollkiller shrieks! "AGH!" No-fur giggles, and tickles. Trollkiller kicks his paws up and down to make it harder for you to tickle. Woodhawk grabs at Trollkiller's arms, trying to pin him down again. No-fur tickles as best he can, dodging flying limbs. :) Trollkiller is giggling to hard to do much else. Woodhawk says, "Grab his legs!" Woodhawk hops back to shift some of his weight down on Trollkiller's thighs. Trollkiller gasps, sending, *Keep... THAT... up, and...* Woodhawk looks down, and giggles. *I'll just tickle _that_, too.* From afar, No-fur considers leaving so his fathers can 'play'. :) Trollkiller bounces around a little, still giggling. No-fur sits back down. Trollkiller gasps for air a lot. Woodhawk slides off Trollkiller and lies back down. "So... thinking of going off on a soulname quest, then, I take it." Trollkiller pants, sticking his tongue out open lips. *Gah!* No-fur shrugs slightly. *Yeah. I guess...* You paged No-fur with 'He's still recovering from the tickling.'. Trollkiller craws over behind Woodhawk. You paged No-fur with 'Actually, after this is over, TK and Woodhawk almost certainly _will_ go at it. However, I don't plan on playing it. :-)'. Woodhawk glances back at Trollkiller, making sure he's doing anything evil. Trollkiller sits behind the sitting-up Woodhawk, one leg on either side, and pulls Woodhawk back against his chest. Woodhawk looks back at Trollkiller again, and sends, *I _think_ we've got something more important right now.* No-fur leans back against the wall of the den.. Trollkiller sends, *That doesn't mean I can't play while we're talking...* Trollkiller presses against Woodhawk's back and rubs his chest. Woodhawk mmms! but looks over at No-fur. "Anyway. Right. You're thinking of going off for a while." No-fur sends openly *Yeah, Dawn thinks I should.* Woodhawk says, "Do _you_ think you should?" No-fur sends openly *I don't know. I don't really want to go away...* Woodhawk says, "I think it sounds like a fine idea. I don't want you to go away either! But I think some time spent wandering to find yourself could be a good thing for you to have." No-fur says "I still don't know where I'd go..." Trollkiller's hands rub harder into Woodhawk's chest, and he nibbles on his shoulders. No-fur watches his fathers, a slight smirk on his face.. Woodhawk says, "I think that's... ah! FUZzy... I think that's the point, really." Woodhawk says, "If your head is too full, too loud, too distracted by all that you know... you might not be able to hear what you're trying to tell yourself." No-fur says "I guess..." Woodhawk says, "The humans have been quiet again, as of late; this time is not as dangerous as the one we knew, and we did it." No-fur sends openly *I saw a human a few days ago..* Trollkiller nods, *I know...* Woodhawk says, "I heard. But not as many as there once were. And the ones that are here, aren't as dangerous." Woodhawk says, "Besides - I think you can hide from them well enough." Trollkiller bites Woodhawk's left shoulder, _hard_. Woodhawk moans and closes his eyes. Woodhawk shakes his head. *Fuzzy, _wait_...* No-fur looks at you. Trollkiller giggles. *Sorry.* No-fur sends openly *I should go...* Woodhawk says, "Anyway. I think you should decide whether you want to go, and if so - do it! But set a limit to how long you'll be gone, so we'll know to come look for you if something goes wrong." No-fur giggles a little. "Come get me if Dawn's cubs finish growing up and I'm not back." Trollkiller sends, *Not that long.* Trollkiller sends, *Please?* Woodhawk baps Trollkiller. "He's joking, love." Trollkiller looks a little reproachful at Woodhawk for a second, but it goes away immediately thereafter. No-fur looks solemn again.. "I don't know how long.." Trollkiller bites his lip. Woodhawk says, "That's fine - but it might be best that, if you go out and don't find it before your time is up, you come back just long enough to let us know that all is well, and then leave again." Trollkiller looks ernest. *Unless he doesn't want to.* No-fur sighs, and almost looks sad. Trollkiller sends, *Don't look sad.* No-fur smirks a little. *Easy for you to say.* Trollkiller sends, *No... not really...* Trollkiller starts running his hands up and down Woodhawk's flanks, and nuzzling the back of his neck. No-fur watches the two of you... a half-smile on his face. Woodhawk murrrs. No-fur turns quietly to leave. Woodhawk reaches back his arms around Trollkiller's head, skitching his headfur. You send *You don't have to. I _will_ wait.* to No-fur. Trollkiller licks Woodhawk's eartip. No-fur sends *No, it's okay.* You send *On the other hand, if you're just looking for a cute guy... I have a feeling that Splinterfire is bored... :-)* to No-fur. Trollkiller giggles, somewhat inexplicably. No-fur looks back over his shoulder before he goes. *No thanks, fur-father.* No-fur has left. You send *Bye... I love you, never forget that...* to No-fur. You sense in a send, No-fur's mind touches yours, fondly... *I love you too, Fur-father. Thank you for understanding..* You paged No-fur with 'Trollkiller would have no response to that, thiking it be st to leave it there. :-)'. No-fur pages: ICishly OOCishly tries to decide when to leave. :) ..... From afar, No-fur is going to go ahead and try to find his way out of the holt... I'd assume he'd wait a day or two before going, but at 12.someodd days per real day, that translates as a few hours, eh? Long distance to No-fur: Trollkiller snorts. *Yeah, probably. Um, you might tell that you've actually decided to go and what direction you're heading and when we should get worried.* No-fur pages: Oh, do I have to?? :) No-fur sends *I promise not to be gone more than a couple of seasons, fur-father.* You paged No-fur with 'It might be nice to play this, too - even if we do it tomorrow or later, and just assume it happened now. Anna might want to be involved, for example. Unless you're doing it as you leave, at the edge of sending range, or somesuch.'. No-fur pages: Well, I was going to play it so that he was already leaving as he said that.. I can put it off if you'd like to do that, though.. You paged No-fur with 'Up to you. Send that as he's already almost gone, or have a more formal leavetaking with all three parents present...'. No-fur pages: I think he wouldn't wait around for a 'formal' thing .. Just doesn't seem like him. (Of course, you know better than I, so...) You paged No-fur with 'He's done that before. (Vanished, just sending to Trollkiller as he was leaving - did it when he went off to the Lost Holt to find Rillwhisper.) So either would be IC; the vanishing method, because he's done it, the leavetaking, because he knows Trollkiller might like that better. (Or not. You might not be sure. :-) ) From afar, No-fur thinks he'll just stick with what he's doing, then. :) You send *You're leaving?! Already? * to No-fur. No-fur sends *I have to.. before I change my mind..* You send to No-fur, Trollkiller sends, with an undercurrent of quickly- suppressed anguish, *I understand. Go, before I can't stop myself from following.* You send *I love you, son... be back, soon...* to No-fur. No-fur sends *I will.* From afar, No-fur touches your mind lovingly. Long distance to No-fur: Trollkiller returns the send, and the love, and an image of all three parents holding you. *Goodbye...* Trollkiller kneels, then lies down, softly crying to himself until he falls asleep.
