Log Date: 3/18/96 Log Intro: Tance Vokrim is in his home-away-from-home, the Short Term Care unit of the Infirmary. For once, though, however, his stay there troubles him, for he's been having disturbing dreams about a green girl. As it happens, he's not the only inhabitant of the ward -- another is Kristin, who's had her own run-ins with Kesya... [NOTE: Krellin periodically connects and disconnects in this log; he should be assumed to be present the whole time, IC...] ---------- Short Term Care This area is dedicated to fixing minor emergencies, such as broken bones and severed fingers. Medical cabinets on the walls are filled with bandages, ointments and medicines. The gleaming white walls help to sooth anxious nerves while providing medics with bright light to work by. The room has a sterile, antiseptic smell. Movable gurneys can be used to transport an injured Guild member from place to place. There is a button next to each bed that can be used to summon medical help. The monitor in this room is on. Tance is checked into bed one, and Noone is checked into bed two. Contents: Kristin Obvious exits: Infirmary Tance rolls over groggily in his bed. Tance mumbles absently, "Wake yet...? Must be... gone now...no more green girl..." Kristin is in the other bed, staring at you with a glare that could freeze fire. Kristin Before you is a very lovely young woman who appears to be in her early 20's. Her hair is the color of dark gold, turning red in the light. Her eyes are bright green, like the sea after a storm. She is 5'6" and slender, not gaunt but her body filled out and toned nicely. She is wearing a dark blue jumpsuit made of a soft material. Her waist is held by a soft black belt, the same as her black boots, which make her tiny feet slightly larger. Her hair is pulled back into an intricate braided bun, strands falling free to frame her face with soft curls. She is upset and scared. Her rez causing her much discomforture. She has a black eye, a large lump on the back of her head and cuts and bruises on her face and hands. Looks like someone just plain beat her up. Carrying: Kristin's Crystal Cutter Tance's left hand fumbles up to his head, as he groans. Kristin doesn't say anything, just stares at you. Tance's eyes creak open, and he blinks vaguely up into the room. "Where... ooogh..." Kristin's expression changes and she sighs softly,"you're in the infirmary." Tance's head shifts towards the voice. "Doc? Fix my head, doc... have to fly..." Kristin sighs softly, her voice quiet,"I'm not the doctor...wish I was though." Tance mumbles, "Where'sa doc... don't feel good..." Kristin says "don't know." "Gotta get my head fixed... seeing things..." The man fumbles to sit up, bracing himself on his left arm, which shakes. "Wanna doc. Wanna wake up now..." Kristin sighs,"I can't do anything...just sit here." Tance frowns, dismayed, as the room tumbles around him, and he slumps back into the bed. "Dreaming... pointed ears.. green... not real..." Tance mumbles blearily, "Wake up soon... normal again..." Kristin is laying on the bed, sighing softly and looking from the ceiling to Tance and back again. Tance is perhaps only half-awake, as he pleads into the air, "Gotta fix my head. Can't cut if I see things... " Krellin stretches and yawns as he wakes up. Kristin sighs softly, her eyes closed and a slow tear trickles down her cheek. Kesya walks into Short Term Care looking for medical assistance. Kesya has arrived. Krellin blinks a few times as his eyes open and adjust to the light. Tance frets in his bed, head tossing slowly. Kesya heads quietly to Kristin's bed, sitting in a chair beside it. She speaks softly, "Kristin?" Krellin is laying next to Kristin. He slowly sits up and then stands, pulling on his shoes. Kristin looks at Krellin and smiles softly,"hi." Krellin smiles, "Hello, Kris." Kristin looks over at Kesya and smiles weakly,"Hi." Kesya slings her towel over one shoulder, resting her water bottle in her lap. "Feeling better?" Krellin says "How are you Kris?" Kristin nods softly,"feeling better." Kristin says "Can I go to my room now?" Kristin says "I've been in these clothes for days..." Kesya glances about the room as Kristin becomes quiet, her gaze resting on the resting grouchy Singer. "Oh hey, Tance. I guess that crash was worse than the medics first thought, huh?" Her brow creases as she eyes the singer concernedly. Kristin sighs softly to herself. Tance's only immediate reply is an incoherent mumble. After a moment or two, he can be heard to say morosely, "Seeing things..." Kesya smiles gently to Kristin, reaching out to pat her arm reassuringly. "I'm sure you'll be let out of here soon. Have you talked to Kaylin yet?" Overhearing Tance, her attention swings back towards him. "Oh, fardles. I thought we'd been over that. There's nothing wrong with your head Tance, Daron said so." Kristin shakes her head,"no. Only you and Krellin have visited me since I was sent here." Tance blinks once, eyes round, and focuses a trifle on the green Singer. "Came back," he mutters, sounding shocked. Kristin smiles softly,"No, she's supposed to be that color..." Kesya frowns vaguely, at which of the singers it isn't clear. To Kristin she asks, "Krellin didn't put in a request for her to see you?" She chuckles softly in the surprised singer's direction. "Of course I came back. Sadly, I have several friends down here. Well, sad that they're down here, not that they're my friends." Tance stares foggily up at Kesya, then abruptly gets what must be attempting to be his usual scowl on his face. Stiffly, he rolls over on his left arm, trying to face the wall. Kesya snorts softly, though it sounds good-natured. "Same old script, huh? Did anyone ever tell you you're getting predictable?" Kristin looks over at Tance then up at Kesya, speaking softly,"Kesya...I-I'm sorry. Even though I don't know what happened...I'm sorry" Tance mumbles, "Don' 'member." Kesya responds to Tance with a shrugs, turning back towards Kristin. "Okay. You don't have to talk to me if you don't want to. I'll be here for a bit though, if you change your mind." With that, she takes Kristin's hand reassuringly, effectively ignoring Tance. "S'okay Kristin. I know you didn't mean any of those things." Kristin's expression is worried,"I'm just scared of what will happen to me now..." Kesya adds wryly, "You didn't even know what was happening. So you're as much a victim as I was." Pausing, her gaze drops the o the bedcovers. "Have there been any more... blackouts?" "Wanna sleep", the man growls after a moment or two, but not very loudly. As Kesya turns to talk to Kristin, he turns his head very slightly, peeking over his shoulder, and hastily turning it back again. Kristin nods softly,"yes, but I don't know...." she shivers, eyes closed and fists clenched... Kesya doesn't notice Tance's surrepticious glance, her attention completely on Kristin. "But Krellin's been with you, and hasn't told you she's come back? That's a good sign." Kristin says softly through clenched teeth,"I need to get off world..." Kesya squeezes Kristin's hand, her expression betraying her concern for the singer. "I'll put in a request with Kaylin to see you. I'm surprised she hasn't already, but she's pretty busy too. Anyway, she'll be able to help." Kristin opens her eyes and smiles at Kesya, wickedly,"Oh, such loving concern for the poor brat child." Tance glowers at the far wall. _Fregmekkin' young Singers. Won't let a man sleep. Babbling about their problems. Well, fardles, I got problems too..._ This, however, does not stop him from peering warily over his shoulder again. Kesya slips her hand out of Kristin's grasp, her tone wry. "Oh look, Miss Congeniality is back again. How are you, Tina?" She crosses her arms, giving little-miss-nasty a stern look. Kristin smiles at Kesya,"Oh, I'm lovely. Have any more fun crashing sleds?" Tance squints muzzily at the suddenly altered Kristin, abruptly makes a noise that sounds like a bark of laughter, or a cough, and rolls back towards the wall again. Now _that_ sounds like a Singer. Kristin smiles at Tance,"oh, and what a wonderful companion you've been. Remember much about crystal lately?" Kesya shakes her head, smiling sweetly. "Crash free and healthy as ever. Looks like my infamous luck is holding up," she baits the changed singer. She frowns, as Tina's attentions turn towards Tance. "Leave him be, Tina." Kristin smiles at Kesya,"Why? He's such a great conversationalist...mubmling about you and everyone else...even a few hints to claims I may just look into." Kesya says pointedly, "You wouldn't be able to find a claim with just a 'hint'. It takes following a singer right there for you to make any headway. Besides, you aren't going anywhere for a long, long time." Kristin smiles brightly, eyes shining darkly,"But certainly Kesya...that's how I found yours. And they won't keep me here forever." Tance growls brusquely, "Remember more 'bout crystal than you yapping pups ever will..." Then, at Kristin's taunt about claim locations, he snarls, "Said no such thing." Kristin smiles at TAnce,"And how would you know? You've been mumbling about everything since you came here." Kristin's smile fades and she looks back to Kesya, snarling,"Once your precious doctors find out that I'm never leaving Kristin's body they'll have to give up and let me live with her." Kesya nods blithely, "I know that's how you found mine." She adds curiously, her tone casual. "The entire guild knows about Kristin's little problem. How would you even get out to the ranges? Impossible. You may as well give up now." With that, she leans back in her chair, appearing bored. "There isn't a singer alive who has to worry about you." Tance blinkblinks, befuddled, then snorts derisively and shifts back to glare at the wall. Kristin glares at Kesya,"you're lying." Kesya grins slyly, "Any of my friends can tell you, I don't lie." Kristin glares at Kesya, sitting up in the bed,"And you won't ever get me to leave Kristin! Ever!" Tance cackles, brokenly. "And they call _me_ crazy," he mutters, bitterly amused. Kesya waves a hand dismissively at the snarling singer. "You're right, I won't. Kristin will." Yawning she adds, "Okay, so you're boring. Go away, I'd like to speak to Kristin again." Kristin looks over at Tance,"I'n not crazy. Actually I'm very sane." Kristin smiles sweetly at Kesya,"no." Kesya shoots a dark look at Tance, lips pressed firmly together. "She's *sick*, Tance. She just needs some help, is all." Tance's only reply is a short "what makes this my problem?" grunt. Kesya shrugs, getting up from the chair. "Okay, I'll go away then." She pushes the chair away, and moves to sit beside Tance's bed. Kristin looks over at Krellin, dark eyes shining,"Hello lover." Krellin shifts in his chair and glares, "I'm not -your- lover." Tance stares to look, warily startled, over his shoulder again as Kesya comes over. For an instant, he looks thunderstruck, before he apparently decides to try to hide it, and turn back to the wall. Kristin laughs briefly, coldly,"oh? That's right...you didin't know it wasn't me in your room that night I came to you. You thought it was Kristin..." She laughs. Krellin stands up and moves his chair over next to Kesya, making a point to turn his back to Kristin. Kristin sighs, rolling her eyes,"you two are dull." Kesya shifts her chair to the side Tance is facing, sitting down near his feet. "Ignoring me still, Tance?" The question is asked with an amused little smile. She doesn't even seem to register Tina's presence, and plays with her water bottle in her hands. Kristin glares at Krellin and Kesya's back, hissing the words at them,"Fine...ignore me. I'll just have a little fun with Kristin then..." Krellin tenses visibly, and looks at a glass cabinet to catch Kristin's reflexion. Kristin slides off the bed and grabs for the first sharp object she sees. Krellin stands quickly and spins grabbing Kristin's wrists. Krellin glares at her and then grins, "You want the restraints back on then?" As Kesya moves over into his line of vision, Tance blinks. Kristin's jibe prompts another caustic snicker out of him, though. But he doesn't bother to turn around. Kristin screaches at Krellin as she arches her back, the rez kicking in. She collapses, going limp. Kesya frowns as she watches Krellin and Tina, looking about ready to get up. "Need a hand, Krell?" Shi walks into Short Term Care looking for medical assistance. Shi has arrived. Kristin opens her eyes slowly, scared and shaking,"Krell?" Krellin pushes back onto the and turns to Kesya, while still holding Kristin's wrists, "No thanks Kes, "I can handle this." Shi wanders in after hearing the noise from the Infirmary, holding her sides. Kesya sinks back into her chair, nodding to the medic before turning her attention back to Tance. Apparently she's decided that Kristin will be much better off in Krellin's care than if she wre to intervene. She doesn't even notice Shi's entrance, her back to the door. To Tance she asks, "So how're you feeling?" Shi finds a seat along the wall. Kristin lets Krellin put her back in the bed, looking around her frightened and herself again,"Wh-what happened? Kesya?" Tance disgruntledly keeps his face to the far wall, and grabs at a pillow to hold over his head. He mumbles something grouchy about fool noisy children; a beat of silence, before he snaps curtly to Kesya, "Fine, shard it. Lemme sleep." Shi nods to Kesya. Kesya looks over towards Kristin's bed, trying to sound reassuring. "You're fine now, Kris. Just try to relax, okay?" She smiles a weary greeting to Shi, and reclines back in her chair again to look stolidly at Tance. She sighs, getting to her feet as she gives the singer's leg a pat. "Okay." Shi looks up at Krellin. Tance visibly jerks at Kesya's passing contact, nearly losing his grasp on the pillow before he fumbles at it again, and buries his head under it. Kesya gets up, leaving Tance's side so he can sleep, as he asked. She moves towards Shi, falling in step with her as she walks about. "Got ants in your pants, Shi?" Kristin looks at Krellin, holding her wrists and up at his face,"Krell?" Krellin's grip suddenly loosens. Krellin watches Kristin very closely, "Kris?" Shi grins up at Kesya, then stands slowly. "Nah, if I hold still too long, the body wil stiffen from lack of usage. Can't move, Can't cut." Kristin's voice is soft and nods,"What happened? why was I on the floor?" Shi slowly backs out of the Short Term care and back into the Infirmary Shi leaves the busy emergency room. Shi has left. Kesya smiles ruefully. "I hadn't thought of that. What happened to you?" Tance remains unmoving, only his harsh breathing suggesting that he is indeed still awake. At least for a time, until he finally breathes more slowly, and his hand drops off the pillow on his head.
