Log Date: 8/10/99 Log Cast: Han Solo, Leia, Chewbacca (emitted by Han), Casey/Canir, Renkek Log Intro: Ambushed by a Horansi bounty hunter on Nar Shaddaa while trying to help Lando Calrissian acquire some illicit transponder parts, Han has rescued by a woman out of his past, a woman he knows as Canir. But though Canir got him to temporary safety in the unlikely refuge of an establishment called "Pasha's Pleasure Palace", and although Pasha turned out to be the mother of Sh'var, one of Han's many contacts on the Smugglers' Moon and rather helpful herself, Han and Canir have been ambushed a second time by the determined Horansi. Chewbacca has stubbornly succeeded in getting Han back to safety on the _Falcon_, and has just as stubbornly succeeded in flying the freighter back to the _Deliverance_... though it's meant that they've had to leave Canir behind. They don't know, however, that the resourceful Canir has managed to find her own way off Nar Shaddaa and is not far behind them at all... or, for that matter, that Leia is entirely disgusted with this latest escapade of Lando's. And only the battered state of her husband is going to be enough to keep her from letting Han have it.... ---------- Han_Solo radios, "Deliverance, this is Solo. _Millennium Falcon_ comin' in. SF-3264 has landed on cs-9139 Han_Solo(#1491POUA) This tall, rangy man moves with the loose and confident motions of a fighter, someone accustomed to getting into tight situations... and getting quickly right back out of them. Coal-black hair, cut pragmatically short, is slicked back from his forehead, giving clear view of well-defined black brows over eyes of an emerald green. His features are ruggedly handsome, weathered, and mature, and a barely detectable scar crooks across his chin. Currently, his attire is what might be described as a uniform of some sort, made of a velvet-like material that catches the light in subtle variations of color. Trousers, shirt, and boots all look expensive and tastefully tailored -- but the problem is, they're also quite rumpled. The shirt, halfway in color between a muted green and tan that sets off the hue of his eyes, has come free of his dark brown trousers. He had had a cloak, but it is now lost, revealling a shoulder holster for the heavy blaster pistol he's carrying. On his feet are a pair of brown leather boots that _were_ impeccably shined, but which have now picked up some wear and tear. His hair is thoroughly mussed, and there are small streaks of dirt all over him, but despite his disheveled appearance he nevertheless still appears rakish. -=-=-=-=-=-=<>=-=-=-=-=-=- => DL-44 Heavy Blaster Pistol You head down off the entry ramp of the _Falcon_. Auxiliary Bay -- NRSC Deliverance This portion of the bay has been specifically designed to house, launch and maintain the four squadrons of fightercraft assigned to the Deliverance. The central section is wide open with a high arched ceiling to allow some fighters to be moved to the upper 'storage' areas on either side of the main landing bay. To one end of the hangar is the hazy blue magnetic shield which separates the vacuum of space from the atmospherically safe interior of the ship. Halfway up the inner wall is the 'Flight Control Room', from where the flight control operators oversee the activity below. This brightly lighted bay is organically colored in deep grays, whites and greens, much like the rest of the ship. Starfighter technicians and utility droids are scattered throughout the hangar area. Astromech droids are in abundance, following their pilots or doing other tasks for the fighter they're assigned to. Many of the pilots are also in evidence, some congregating near the muster room while others work on their ships alongside the techs. -=-=-=-=-=-=<>=-=-=-=-=-=- => STARFIGHTER: Corellian YT-1300 -- Millennium Falcon => Leia => STARFIGHTER: Sienar Lambda Class Shuttle -- NRS Hecatomb => STARFIGHTER: Incom T-65B X-wing -- Ghost 2 => STARFIGHTER: Incom T-65B X-wing -- Ghost 4 => STARFIGHTER: Alliance A-Wing Starfighter -- Archer 1 => STARFIGHTER: Sienar Lambda Class Shuttle -- Hope => STARFIGHTER: Slayn and Korpil B-wing -- Blue 2 => STARFIGHTER: Slayn and Korpil B-wing -- Blue 1 => STARFIGHTER: Sardakh Kale-1 -- Firedancer => STARFIGHTER: Sienar Lambda Class Shuttle -- NRS Valiant => STARFIGHTER: MT/191 Dropship -- Rush => STARFIGHTER: Incom T-65B X-wing -- Ghost 3 => STARFIGHTER: Incom T-65B X-wing -- Ghost 8 => STARFIGHTER: Slayn and Korpil B-wing -- Blue 4 => STARFIGHTER: Alliance A-Wing Starfighter -- Archer 3 => STARFIGHTER: Alliance A-Wing Starfighter -- Archer 4 => STARFIGHTER: Incom T-65B X-wing -- Rogue 3 => STARFIGHTER: Alliance A-Wing Starfighter -- Archer 2 => STARFIGHTER: Incom T-65B X-wing -- Rogue 6 => STARFIGHTER: Incom T-65B X-wing -- Ghost 1 => STARFIGHTER: Corellian YT-1300 -- Triton => STARFIGHTER: Incom T-65B X-wing -- Ghost 6 => STARFIGHTER: Incom T-65B X-wing -- Ghost 5 => STARFIGHTER: Incom T-65B X-wing -- Ghost 7 => STARFIGHTER: Alliance A-Wing Starfighter -- Archer 5 => STARFIGHTER: Incom T-65B X-wing -- Rogue 4 => STARFIGHTER: Incom T-65B X-wing -- Rogue 5 => STARFIGHTER: Incom T-65B X-wing -- Rogue 7 => STARFIGHTER: Incom T-65B X-wing -- Rogue 8 => STARFIGHTER: Incom T-65B X-wing -- Rogue 1 => STARFIGHTER: Incom T-65B X-wing -- Rogue 2 => STARFIGHTER: Koensayr BTL-S3 Y-wing -- Vanguard 3 => STARFIGHTER: Corellian YT-1300 -- Ziggurat => STARFIGHTER: Sienar Lambda Class Shuttle -- Tydirium -=-=-=-=-=<>=-=-=-=-=- tarboard leads to Hangar Bay -- NRSC Deliverance. Han_Solo enters Auxiliary Bay -- NRSC Deliverance A small form in a white jumpsuit stands off to one side of the bay. Pacing pensively, Leia bites one thumb and her boots move her back and forth, pacing unaware. As the familiar YT pulls into the bay, she allows her features to brighten, barely able to stand back as she awaits the Falcon's recovery. Dark brown eyes follow every inch of the freighter's taxi to a sufficient parking space. Once the old girl is settled, she frees herself from the safety of the sidelines and crosses with undignified haste towards it's descending ramp. "All right, Chewie, all right, I'm tellin' ya, I'm fine--!" The voice is unmistakably Han's irate baritone, raised in peevish protest to clash with the pointed roaring grumblings of Chewbacca. Human and Wookiee make their way down the ramp as the _Falcon_ opens up, and it would seem that Han's progress is a trifle stiffer than one might normally expect. His attire, too, is not what one would expect, nor is the fact that his normally disheveled hair is entirely too black for normalcy. Chewbacca hustles him out of the freighter, sounding extremely protective, but he roars in distinct pleasure at the Princess's approach. She notes his limited movement before she reaches the ramp and concern floods Leia's features. Leia manages to flash a smile at Chewie before returning her attention to her husband. Pulling him down into a hug that she nearly leaps into after so long a separation, she pulls back and finally notices the Corellian's hair and the tone of Chewbacca's admonition registers finally. "Oh, Han," she says, dread for what tale he's returned with in her tone. Her gaze roves over his clothing and she arches one brow. Then bluntly, she adds, as she picks through his disheveled strands, "What happened? You look awful." Han's arms come up readily enough to wrap about the Princess's dainty form, but even as she fiercely embraces him, a small strangled noise of something that sounds suspiciously like pain escapes him. Nor can he quite successfully modulate it into speech, though he tries. "Hhnghii... I... had a little difference of opinion with a bounty hunter, is all," he mumbles. "'Mfine..." Over the top of him, even as Leia expresses her opinion of what's left of Han's 'disguise', Chewie chimes in his own disgust over Lando Calrissian's idea of a 'cunning plan' to keep Han unrecognized on the streets of the Corellian Sector. He doesn't comment upon the General's claims about his condition, at least not vocally, but it's fairly obvious that the Wookiee has his own opinion about whether Han belongs on his feet. "Bounty hunter?!?" A bit of steam might be seen emitting with Leia's small terse sigh, suppressing her outrage. She winces slightly as she loosens her hold on Han. "Still? I knew it was a bad idea to let you go running off with Lando." She listens to Chewie's rumbling, registering enough of it to get the idea that Han should get some care. "Why? Why did you have to do this? It's not safe." Forgetting all the dangers Han's face without her over the years, she coddles him perhaps overly much. Leia turns her stern chastisement onto the Wookie. "And why did you let him? Help me get him to med bay." Pulling her husband's arm around her strong, small shoulders, she tries to entice him to walk down the ramp, not leaving room for much refusal. Chewie yorflerowls, adamantly insisting that he hadn't been overly thrilled with the idea of setting foot on Nar Shaddaa -- at least not with Lando in charge of the plan. But had either of the human males listened to the wise council of the Wookiee...? NoooOooOoooo. However, in mid-rant, the big furry being takes Han's other arm in that surprising gentleness he always seems to surreptitiously exhibit whenever his long-time partner happens to have gotten roughed up a little more than usual. "You're gettin' as nursy as Goldenrod," Han mutters fretfully, as between wife and Wookiee he is hustled down to the deck. He turns his head between them, trying to hide his wince as the headache that had come back with the painkiller and stim he'd downed wearing off protests the movement, and insists brusquely, "I can walk, I can walk, I walked off the _Falcon_, didn't I...?" STARFIGHTER: Sienar Lambda Class Shuttle -- Intrepid arrives with a woosh and slowly settles down on the landing area. STARFIGHTER: Sienar Lambda Class Shuttle -- Intrepid enters Auxiliary Bay -- NRSC Deliverance Casey has arrived. Casey enters Auxiliary Bay -- NRSC Deliverance Renkek has arrived. Renkek enters Auxiliary Bay -- NRSC Deliverance Leia steps back, though she doesn't fully remove herself from Han's support. And she knows that Chewie has a good grip on the stubborn Corellian. Cocking her chestnut-topped head to one side, she gives a falsely patient grimmace. "Fine. You want to walk...walk." A moment's pause lets her ire flare slightly, just a reminder that she could be worse than a 'nurse'. "Han..." Her look softens and her tone quiets down a bit. She can see how much the proud man is hurting and knows all too well how he hates to let it show. "Please, let's just get you some attention from the med staff, before there are any other demands on the _General's_ presence here." Stepping down from the Falcon's ramp to the deck she waves over an crewman with a repulsor cart to help get Han out of here before anyone can stop the trio, though with the heavy bay traffic that may not be possible. It's amazing how fast somebody can be made to do something when a Wookiee bears his full mouth of fangs at him. With the cart floated over post-haste, Han grumpily submits to Chewbacca pointing him at the cart while the Wookiee threatens to throw him into it if he doesn't get in under his own power. "All right, all right," he complains, "back off, furball, no need to get testy, I'm goin', I'm goin'..." Casey steps off the shuttle, limping, and not looking so hot, her shirt torn and missing a sleeve, her face still covered with dried blood, and she sighs, looking around for the lift but spies Han and some woman instead, making her way over slowlly, limping a little, her good hand clenching at her side.." All right you over grown nerf herder.. You have a good reason for leaving me stranded? Did that oaf chase you and Chewie off as well?", her face reddening a bit in anger, as she yells across the flight deck, getting closer with each step, as she adverts her eyes to Leia's once, her own gaze narrowing slightly. Renkek steps down the ramp to thes shuttle intrepid and looks around a bit o O (ahh always good to be back "home") and pulls out a small box and opens it up and looks at the contents o O (got to get these in her locker) then nods to the crew he knows and looks over to casey "well I'll walk with you to make sure you get there if you don't mind?" he looks to her for a response not moving or sahing anything else Glad of Chewie's rapid assistance, Leia is quick to dismiss the crewman. "Thank you," she dismisses him and then climbs into the driver's seat herself, leaving the Wookiee to keep Han subdued for the moment. As the shouting woman approaches, the Princess turns to look at Casey pointedly. "Friend of yours?" she asks, turning back from her seat to look at Han accusingly while her hand fumbles for the power controls under the steering column of the small vehicle. Solo looks up, his haggard face registering surprise and little else before an angry Chewbacca rounds on Casey, squarely planting himself between the approaching woman and his partner. Never mind that a lot of humans don't tend to understand Wookiee: Chewbacca lets Casey have it vocally, roaring out in disgust that if she wishes to have a word with his partner, she'd damned well better wait until those four cracked ribs and the concussion he's still not had properly treated get proper medical attention. On the cart beside him, Han wilts evern so slightly, wincing as the big furry creature winds up blurting what's wrong with him to all and sundry, and mumbling, "Aaaaah..." Casey glares right back at Chewie her fist forming, and she waves it at him.." Don't EVEN think yer threats work on me pal!", snorting out as she limps up to him and stops a couple feet away.." And yes... I understand every word ya just said.. And I don't much like being called a "hussy" even if you ARE watching over yer little buddy there. I happened to save his sorry butt from that hunter, and yer gunna break my arms if I go near him? I don't THINK so!", being just about as mad as the Wookie, though her language skills a bit crusty, she might have gotten something he said wrong there, and blinks once, staring Chewie down, ignoring the others for now. Without so much as batting an eye -- well, okay, perhaps the Wookiee equivalent thereof -- Chewbacca promptly seizes Casey by the front of her disheveled garb, bodily lifts her up a foot off the deck, and strides several paces away with her in his grasp. Solo, in the meantime, barks out in protest, "Chewie, Chewie, dammit, back off," and instinctively starts to fling himself off the cart; no way the General's about to let the Wookiee do his arguing for him. However, the sudden movement rather disagrees with that aforementioned concussion, and Han falters. One hand shoots out to support himself on the side of the cart before he does something undignified like fall over and smack his head against the seat... nah. It seems he'll just settle for going gray under his tan. Renkek smiles as he closes the box and heads off and seems extremely happy about something. He looks around as he leaves and walks by ghost 8 and around it doing a quick inspection and then proceeds to leave quietly hoping the young woman will make it to medbay soon. "Who the...?!?" Indignation rises in Leia tone. Bolting from the cart seat to at once approach Chewbacca to keep him from acting too rashly and place herself before this brash female thing, but she's too late. Witnessing the lift, the Councilor barely bats an eye as she turns the full fury of her tongue on Casey. She looks around briefly, noting Renkek and the Intrepid nearby. No uniform but an NR shuttle. She puzzle that out later. For now her focus is on this woman. "Listen, I don't know who you are or where you came from, but you've got a lot of nerve..." But Han's movement behind her and his cry cause her to ignore Chewie's potential for dismembering this woman and she returns her attention to her husband. "Broken ribs....concussion. This can't wait. Chewie!! I need you to help me with Han right now. Just drop her and get over here, please!" Renkek heads out and turns around and looks back at the entrance and then heads to the muster area not wanting to forget somethng and then quietly continues twalking and seems very content at the moment and then goes out of view in a few seconds. Renkek exits this section of the bay, heading towards the main portion of the hangar. Renkek has left. Dismember, no. Give Casey his best full-throated angry Wookiee growl before setting her down on her feet several meters away, yes. Now, Chewbacca has at least noticed that this woman is in rather visibly battered shape herself, and the fact that his partner _has_ mentioned certain personages he bumped into on Nar Shaddaa allows him to add two and two and get four. (Yes, contrary to Imperial propaganda, Wookiees can count.) So he doesn't drop Casey. He merely sets her firmly down, whirls around, and heads right back the way he came. Han, in the meantime, corrects hoarsely and as vigorously as he can manage, "Bruised ribs! Just cracked... and I just got smacked on the head, is all, I'm fine, I'm fine..." Casey growls right back at Chewie as he sets her down, and shakes her fist at his departing back, before her gaze goes to Leia and Han, shaking off a decidedly unsettling feeling, as she eyes the cozy duo, she frowns a bit befre calling out from where she stands.." Canir.. And you stole my life when you killed Jabba, your highness!", all but snearing the words, before looking towards Han, her gaze angry, confused, hurt, and about a dozen other emotions ripping through them, as she lifts her hand, ripping off her eye patch disguise.." Why.. Why did I even bother.. som thanks I got..", before her voice reverts into an odd language, as she turns away slowlly, making her way towards the lift on shaky legs. Rather bemused himself, not to mention in distinct and barely suppressed pain, Han shoots a heated hazel glance after the woman and barks out, "Hey--!" But, well, she's stomping away. And under the circumstances, Han Solo isn't exactly likely to go racing after somebody who so obviously wants to be elsewhere. His weary features settle into an irritable scowl, and he mutters testily, "Women." Chewbacca, in the meantime, flashes a sharp blue gaze back at Casey, noting how she identifies herself, and her hostile words to the Princess -- but, well, Chewie's not exactly interested in mollifying somebody clearly testy either. He'll settle for barking an order to the nearest hapless deck crew to go after the woman and make sure she doesn't wander into anywhere she's not supposed to be. Fortunately, despite the fact that deck crew tend to go running when Han Solo, Chewbacca, or the Princess get into a full-blown argument in the middle of a cruiser hangar bay, Wookiee lung capacity is impressive. Somebody goes scurrying out from behind a storage carton to catch up with Casey and blurt out an offer of escort to visitor's quarters. Or, comes the hastily blurted addition, the medical bay. Leia takes the seat next to Han and holds his hand, squeezing it against his visible pain. Gently stroking the side of his head her focus is on him now. Her absence from the driver's seat is all Chewbacca needs to know he'll be driving now. Casey's words, directed at her now, pull Leia's focus abruptly from her care of Han. Peering directly at this strange woman now, Leia takes in her dishevelment which rivals Han's. "What?" she asks softly, her mind moving towards compassion for the obviously troubled Casey. Part of her wants to say, 'Well, you should thank me, that wasn't much of a life, was it?' But she's seen enough in this galaxy to know that one being's hell is another's heaven. "Wait!" she calls out louder, her cry causing Chewbacca to quickly halt his momentary acceleration of the cart. "We're headed to med bay. You should come along as well," she invites Casey. "You don't look in shape to walk there." Casey looks at her 'escort', and then cranes ehr head sharply at Leia's call, her eyes narrowing a little as her face pales.."II'll.. I'll be fine thanks..", calling out before turning away quickly, bringing a hand up to wipe at her eyes in frustration.." No.. no, nonono..", muttering quietly as the escort pushes the lift button, and they disappear inside once it arrives. Leia's fingers stroking through his uncharacteristically black hair is almost enough to undo Han. He sags a little in his seat, his scowl involuntarily softening a little, his eyes briefly dropping shut. But he stubbornly keeps one hand gripping the side of the cart as if by sheer force of will alone he can keep himself from toppling over. The motion of the cart, Chewie's disgruntled whorfling, and Leia's exchange with Casey/Canir are all noted -- but with his system running on the fumes of stimulants and painkillers and adrenaline, something in the exhausted Corellian can't be made to do more than just note them. It's all he can do to force himself to look alert, as his wife and his partner whisk him off to the medbay -- well, look alert, and get in one last plaintive whine before he's whisked off: "How come _she_ gets to duck out?" [But Casey does get to duck out... for now... as Chewbacca and Leia see Han off to his least favorite place on the _Deliverance_: the medical bay. End log.]
