Log Date: 9/12/98 Log Cast: Leia, Kaein, Shenner, Troy, Valak, Adlerson, Athahk (NPC), Tajan, Laryssa, Bec, Aerilaya, Webb, Detjin, Canon, Rodo, Rabid, Ariani (NPC), Loren (NPC), Chamracca, assorted NPC medics and marines Log Intro: The plot has begun to thicken, as it were, as Shenner has begun to discover that Caspar's Plaxton City promises to deal her a far more active existence than Coral City on Calamari. Having discovered that Princess Leia Organa-Solo is on the planet, and having furthermore discovered that _Paul_ is on Caspar from the rather alarming and scarred personage of the local Imperial Ambassador, the musician has been wrestling with whether she should go and look for the Corellian who has abandoned her yet again. She's discovered his ship up on Kichnar Station, but as of yet hasn't found the courage to track him down. She has not, however, placed any significance in the presence of a particular dark stranger who'd shown up in the Sandbar a day or two ago, and she _certainly_ hasn't connected him with the Princess in any way, shape, or form. Shen is in for a surprise.... ---------- You leave The Sandbar, entering the fresh air of Fountain Square. Fountain Square - Plaxton City The huge buildings in the background threaten to take over this small patch of green. A stone fountain--left over from another time--sits in the center of the square. It depicts a young woman looking into the sky. Water flares around her and bursts into a star pattern ten feet above her head. The inscription at the base of the fountain is written in the aging language of a more romantic time. 'Fare well, for all journeys that leave from this place shall always return to call it home.' The mid-day sky above is cloudy with patches of clear spots allowing you to see the sky behind them. -=-=-=-=-=-=<>=-=-=-=-=-=- => Laryssa => Leia => Valak => Kaein => D2-P15(Toopee) => IGNews Terminal - Caspar => Mail Terminal: Caspar -=-=-=-=-=<>=-=-=-=-=- ndbar leads to The Sandbar. outh leads to South Mergansar Ave. - Plaxton City. ast leads to East Blake St. - Plaxton City. orth leads to North Mergansar Ave. - Plaxton City. est leads to West Blake St. - Plaxton City. Anger flares in Leia's dark irises, tensing her jaw as she waits in a loose combat stance, not daring a blink of her eyes. "I'm not afraid of you, Valak. Even you aren't stupid enough to try something in public this far from your people." Kaein looks at you for a moment. Rubbing her eyes blearily, Shenner emerges from the Sandbar, a tote bag slung off one shoulder. The redheaded singer is looking worn round the edges, and it takes her a few moments for her vision to adjust to the daylight as she pauses to suck in draughts of fresh air. Troy enters the square from the south. Troy has arrived. Troy walks into the Fountain area, enjoy a fine Cigar..he walks towards the fountain. Kaein remains standing for a few moments, looking between valak and leia before returing to his seat, lookinb back over toward the two breifly before leaing his head back once again and resume looking up at the clouds. Valak laughs and brings his hands up in front of him, pointing them at Leia, "Bold words, child." Small sparks of blue energy begin to flow around his fingertips, "But I don't need my people. The Dark Side is my ally, as you are about to learn." And as he completes his sentence, bolts of blue lighting surge from his hands, lance across the sqaure and pelt his female target directly in the center of her torso, the sound of thunder rips throught the square. Troy walks over to the fountain...jumping at the sound of Thunder... the horanis ears perk at th sound of thunder, noticing not a storm cloud in the sky. he glances back over toward leia and valak and upon seeing what he does he leaps to his feet, his hunting instics kicking in as he moves quickly, quietly and agily toward the rear of valek, on all fours, like a true cat. Troy seeing where the thunder and who the target is...he dives into the fountain (using it as cover) pulls out his knife...and makes ready. Adlerson walks into the square from the east. Adlerson has arrived. Athahk walks into the square from the east. Leia's hands raise to ward off the assault, but her extremely limited abilities in and experience with the Force have not prepared her for this bastardization of its power. The ball of lightning wraps around her, jarring her and slamming her to the ground. Shenner's hand snaps down from her eyes, and those green eyes have gone wide and shocked. In unconscious reaction, she stumbles back against the wall of the Sandbar behind her, her face draining completely of color, and her young features tightening in what might be pain. Tajan enters the square from the north. Tajan has arrived. Valak allows the lighting surge to continue, and sensing the approach of the Horansi behind him, sends an unseen wave of force at the attacker. Choking it with an unseen hand and sending the Hornsi beast flying back the way it came. Valak rolls a 34 for his SENSE skill. A Heroic roll! Kaein rolls a 24 for his HIDE skill. An Excellent roll! Adlerson arrives from the direction of the governmental buildings, hands resting easy on his back as he strolls along, taking people and places into view. At the sudden commotion his eyes widen with alert though, and the small creature right behind him step past, taking up a guarding position. Adlerson spends a few heartbeats taking it all in. Kaein is /trying/ to sneak up on valek from behind, moving on all fours. Tajan heads down West Blake St. Tajan has left. A whistling figure moves into the square, a bright smile playing upon her lips. At hearing a sound like thunder she peers into the sky, cocking her head slightly when she sees no clouds. The scampering civilians catch her eye, which soon moves to the maiden on the ground, surges of blue light pulsing about her body. Indeed, this pilot, Laryssa Tye, simply stares. Jaw clenching, Leia tries to prevent the shrieks of agony that threaten to bubble out of her, and, writhing away from the blasts, but the pain overwhelms her and a single gasp of agony is yanked from her throat. Troy holding his Vibro in his hand he mutters something to himself....and jumps over the wall towards Liea.. Plastered against the wall of the Sandbar, in either shock or terror or perhaps both, Shenner drops her tote bag. The girl's face turns from white to an alarming shade of green. As his eyes finds the form of the source of the lightening bolts, Adlerson's jaw almost drops, eyes widening even more. Quickly he fishes out a comlink from a pocket and barks a few low commands into it, then moves closer to his Lord, though stays out of the way, his eyes on the others present, watching, prepearing. Troy holding his Vibro Knife Jumps from the fountain and heads towards Liea and mutters a curse and prayer to himself...(moving quickl) Valak walks towards his victim, "You see, Princess, you might want your brother's lightsaber back, but you'll have to *take* it from me..." He laughs over the lightning, "And you don't seem to be in any shape to do that right now." SOme unkown force picks the young feliniod up off his feet and sends him through the air, reaching a height of almost 15 feet in no time flat. The horansi sails effortlessly throught the square with a look of terror on on his face. after flying almost 10 meters teh hroanse suddenly drops the 25 feet of altitued he gained quite quickly, slamming intothe hard pavement witha sickening thud and continues to slide across the square leaving a small trail of blood untill he sand bar brings him to a quick halt. Bec has arrived. Shenner flinches as Kaein comes in for a crunch of a landing, and the girl is beginning to look visibly ill. Her knees wobbling visibly beneath her, she shoots a look of undisguised fright and pain in the combatants' directions, before jerking her gaze weakly around to the Horansi. Kaein Before you stands a five and 1/2 foot tall feline creature that you would identify as a Horansi male. He seems young, probally only about 15 or 16 years of age and moves akwardly on his hind legs, but at the same time he is extremely silent, making noise only when he wants to be heard. The young feline is dressed in simple yet efficent clothes. He wears a grey tank top which is tucked into a pair of kacki shorts that are held up with a brown belt. The clothing allows freedom of movement, wether walking on his hind legs, or on all fours, and it is very practicle, The fur of this young creature is jet black, denoting him of the Mashi subspecies. His eyes are deep golden/copper color and swim with life and emotions. There is one thing you find troubling about this horansi, the series of gray and white rosetta spots that run the length of his back, tail, and speckle the back of his arms legs and head. These spots would mark him as a Treka, except that Treka do not exist with black fur and golden eyes. -=-=-=-=-=-=<>=-=-=-=-=-=- => Vibro-Knife Valak is now standing almost directly over Leia, pouring more electrical energy from his fingertips into her convulsing, screaming form. Adlerson keeps a watchful eye on the people surounding the square, especially those close enough to his Master to pose any serious threat. He moves around the edge to the point where he will be covering the back of Valak. Not that he will need that, but it doesn't seem this Admiral is well versed in the powers of the force.. Leia's hand reaches fumblingly for the lightsaber as her waist, even as the lightning contorts her body and twists it cruelly against the pavement. "I'm...not...as weak...as you think," she hisses, biting back further sounds of pain. Troy is heading Broadside towards Valak and Leia at a run he does not seem to be stoping he is going in at ramming speed...(5 feet now) "Look out!" Adlerson calls to Valak as he spots Troy, sending his alien bodyguard to try to intercept before it's too late.. Bec is not sneaking up on anyone. On the contrary, he bolts into the square directly in front of Valak skidding to a halt when he spots the source of the screams that drew him to this location. The spears of force energy create a gleaming pattern of reflection in his glasses as he flashes a split second glance at Leia, then an even shorter one at Valak. Yanking his blaster out of its holster, Bec aims at the scum. Valak reaches out again in another direction and steals the blaster that's pointed at him with an unseen hand, sending the weapon across the starport. In the process, Bec's arm snaps in half in a bizarre direction, cause by a sudden and violent perversion of the Force, not unlike the electricity still pouring from his fingertips. Troy jumps into the air througing himself towards Valak in a cross body tackle. a soft moan eminates from the crumpled form of the horansi, evidence that he is still alive after that crash landing a few moments ago. the Horansi rools over, wehter it is by will or gravity it cannot be determined at the moment. His grey shirt is stained a deep red and the white spots on his black fur have begun to turn pink. Someting about his right arm also dosnt seem right, his forearm seems twisted almost around backwards. Shenner falls to her knees by Kaein's prone form, her complexion turning greener by the second, a decidedly unhealthy shade in the glow of the power Valak is putting forth. Unable to think of anything else, she croaks desperately and slurrily at the felinoid, "Geddup. Geddup...!" Valak reaches out again, sending a wave of unseen energy into Troy's direction, sending him smashing into the base of the fountian. Troy slumps as he crashes into the fountain. Blood dripping from his Head, his close as he blacks out. Adlerson releases the breath he didn't know he was holding in as he sees Troy fly away from the Emperor. A frown appears though, in a split second before the attack actually hit Troy, the Admiral recognising the assiliant.. Tajan enters the square from the west. Tajan has arrived. Kaein's eyes flach open as he hears shenners words and he uses his left arm to prop himslef up. he looks around, his eyes becoming dark . he looks at his disabled arm, grabes a hold of it with the one that is still working and snaps it back into place with a sickening CRACK. THe horansi doesnt even wince as he does this. he looks to shenner and giver he a breif nod before standing and walking slwoly back toward valak, a laong gack in his back becoming visible for the first time, and which is probally the source of all the blood. he continues towrd valak, moving slowly and in plain sight, making no fst movements and stopping aobut 15 feet away from him. The bluish white lighting still wracks the crumped figure at Valak's feet, a disquieting scent of ozone rising from her injuries, and while she remains, sadly, conscious, no further sounds can be heard from her opened mouth. She remains dimly aware of her surroundings and the damage Valak is inflicting on others, and her mental cries for him to stop are directed toward those actions more than concern for her own safety. Tajan leaves the square to the north. Tajan has left. Bec's exclamation of pain ends in a gasp as his knees hit the pavement, and his good arm jerks out to stop him from falling to his face. Stuggling to catch his breath and keep his balance, he lifts his gaze once again to Leia and the dark Jedi assaulting her with unspeakable Force. Letting his blaster hang awkwardly at his side, he sets his jaw and braces one foot, ready to stand up to try again. "Let her go," he snarls at Valak, defiantly reckless. Troy falls to the side smearing blood down the fountain as he remains in la la land. Adlerson calls the small alien guard back as he, with quite a bit of impression written in his face, regards how his Master fends for himself and all the futile, no, downright moronic attempts to stop the Emperor are taken care of by Valak. As abruptly as the lightning barrage began, it stops, leaving Leia in a smoldering heap, but alive. The Dark figure at the center of attention turns to face the injured alien that is stalking him weakly from behind. He glares deeply at the resiliant beast. Shenner lifts pain-glazed and fear-blackened eyes to the scene; the girl's still on her knees, and from the look of her, she's about two seconds away from curling up into a tiny ball. Her attention is still raggedly focused on the young Horansi, and she rasps out breathlessly, never mind that Kaein's not liable to hear her, "No. Don'... go!" Adlerson looks at you for a moment. The bundle of muted red cloth remains on the ground after Valak's assault is ended, distressingly small and motionless: the image is akin to that of a child's doll stuck into a high-voltage socket by some sadistic older sibling. Troy slowly starts to awake....and amazingly, his Vibro is still in his hands. Shaking the cobwebs out he tries to standup..with difficulty he does. He then takes in the sceene. Kaein stops in his tracks but does not seem to be backing off. he wavers for a moment, fighting off the pecefull rest of unconsiouss as he looks at valak. The felinoid speaks up "You Mage! I have a question for you. Do you actually consider your self to be a civilized person!? misusing you powers to harm the weak like a spoild child wo always has to get his way......your actions make you more of an uneducated neolithic barbarian than one of the civilized universe!" Valak faces the Horansi at an angle, "You have no idea who I am, do you, Horansi?" He reaches a hand out and does the old Dark Side choke hold trick. Reachign with an unseen hand and crushing the alien's windpipe with violent pressure. Bec lurches slightly, an aborted attempt to stand up that was cancelled when the blue-white energy ceased to pour into the Princess. He rocks back on his heels, for one very brief moment considering the liklihood that Valak actually listened to the lieutenant's shout. Unlikely, at best. Dizzily, he holds his injured arm with his free hand, and makes his way toward Leia on his knees. "Your highness?" he tries, somewhat plaintively. Adlerson stares at Troy at first, regarding the man he was being served a rather fine brandy by a few days earlier with contempt not easilly paralleled. This is one face and name that will have a hard time doing bussiness in the Empire, ever again. His focus change though, to the Horansi, followed by a shake of his head, almost sad at that, as he somehow knows what will happen. (Or have allready happened.) Kaein seems to reply "i don't even wish to know whos this cow...Ack!" his sentance is cut off as his breath is suddenly drawn from him. his hands instinctivaly drawing up to his neck , he wavers on is feet and falls to one knee choking and trying to gasp for air. Troy stumbles in the direction he was going before he was so rudely flung away..and slowly walks towards the fallen NR official and the guard that is now hovering over her... No response from the broken figure whom Bec addresses. A crackle of lingering spark rifles her attire, then nothing. As Valak turns his malevolent attention upon the unfortunate Kaein, Shenner can be seen to crumple over to her hands and knees. Her slender shoulders are shaking violently, and merely the fact that she has nothing in her stomach keeps her from retching onto the walkway in front of the Sandbar. With an apparent massive effort, she turns her head round in the direction of Leia and Bec, and a flicker of recognition and mute appeal enters her gaze. Help her, Lieutenant. Get her outta here.... Valak allows an expression of disgust to linger over his face before he snaps the Horansi's neck from where he stands some fifteen feet away. He lets the Hornsi slup to the ground, another heap. another victim of the dark figures rage. He looks around at the chaos and damage trhoughout the square, waiting for another assainant. The spark that lifts and flutters the princess's airy overcloak reveals, for just a moment, a blaster hidden in the folds of her attire. Bec's attention is drawn to it, and then to Valak's back. A murderous thought, strengthed by the crackling ozone odor cloaking the princess, flickers through his mind, and stays there as he stares in the Jedi's direction. But even as thought of death run though his mind, his hand rests against Leia's neck, searching for signs of life. Troy walks over to Bec and Leia, (bleeding pretty badly from his head). he groggly speaks "Is she alive.." he stammers still trying to shake the cobwebs from his head. Adlerson takes a step forward as his Master seems to cool down, announcing his presense. "My Lord.." He bows his head then and waits this way until he will be adressed. This will certainly make his diplomatic efforts with the CDU harder. Tenfold. Beneath Bec's searching fingertips is a thready, pale indication that Valak has been uncharacteristically, oddly merciful and spared the princess from extermination...the Maker knows why. She stirs, shifting from unconsciousness to unkind awareness and breathes Valak's name. Kaein remains on the ground rumpled in a small furry ball. he does not seem to be moving but the slight rize of his checst can be scene as a sight he is still alive. Valak frowns and faces Adlerson, nodding slightly. Mouthing pleadingly, 'Help the Princess,' Shenner still peers almost blindly in Bec's direction, unable to do more in her silent urging for the young officer to get the fallen Leia Away. She tries to rise, and lurches back against the Sandbar's wall, her face going deathly white once more. Adlerson catches the nod through the corner of his eyes and looks up then, straightens and takes another few steps towards Valak. "Please.." His voice is level, though submissive as hell. He lowers his voice now, "This does not help our cause, m'Lord." Troy hearing that the princes breaths...he stumbles over to the man he was just ferrying around the other day. He leans over Keain, noticing that he is breathing..but is in an akward position on the ground. He slowly turns the Feline over and covers him with his light armour hoping to comfort him a little. He then speaks into his combadge calling for medical assistance to the square...Yet again. Valak raises a brow at the Imperial officer, "Let's not forget who determines 'our cause' here, Admiral." He still seems a bit angry, as if the comment almost set him off again. Bec's eyes flash up at Troy, dark green behind the glasses that have slipped down from their usual position. It's a dismissive glance, taken only long enough to be sure that there's no further danger from the approaching figure before the lieutenant orients his attention on the princess once more. "Valak?" he breathes, astonished. The murderous thought in his head gets impossibly more savage. Apparently, this particular Jedi has a bloodthirsty inclination where beautiful Alderaanians are concerned. Resolutely concentrating on the task at hand, however, Bec leans more closely over the princess. "I'm going to get you out of here," he announces, though he's not sure how. Aerilaya enters the square from the south. Aerilaya has arrived. Webb enters the square from the south. Webb has arrived. Aerilaya enters looking for the wounded. Kaein no matter how much trou tugs at him the cub remains unmoving, curled up in a tight fetal position, his eyes are wide open and have sunk into has face. The horansie dosnt seem to be here at the moment, and his breathing begins to slow and become almost unnoticable. Detjin narrows his large dark eyes, taking a few tentative steps to get a better view. A hand limply curls around Bec's arm, and in the hoarsest, thinnest of whispers Leia implores him, "Contact Han. Let him know what happened...who's here...find...find Mon Mothma." Troy leans over Kaein..Kaein is looking like a broken mess his neck at an odd angle...Troy is bleeding from the head, staining the back of his shirt...and its drenched. Adlerson bows again at that, almost from his waist as he stands a few feet from his Emperor. "Of course, m'Lord. Though I am refering to your cause, and to the cause you sendt me here to further." He looks up, arms straight down as you only see them when he's around Valak. "Please.." he repeats. Shenner is still half-crumpled against the wall of the Sandbar, her arms locked around her belly, her face entirely colorless. She gazes blankly now in Bec and Leia's direction, now incapable even of forming mental pleas for Bec to get the Princess to safety. Aerilaya walks over to troy. "What happened here?" she bends down and looks at kaein. Troy blinking blankly at Aerilaya "Hello again doc...ummm i think his neck is broken.." and then his eyes go blank and he falls over unconsious again. Valak raises a finger at the decorated officer, "And you are here following the orders I have issued, the 'cause' is for my determination and my knowledge." He looks over at the heap he left the Skywalker woman in and the people treating her, "What *I* am here for is of no relation to you and your mission." He speaks sternly, anger still lacing his every word. Detjin frowns, gazing over the spectical. Perhaps there is a pleased glint in his eye, or maybe just the angle of the sun. He swivels his sight to Valak, at which point he leans back - a familar visage, his. Aerilaya stands up and looks around for soem help. Bec winces, wavers, and very nearly has to brace himself upright with his good hand again, as the princess latches on to his injured arm. Gently detaching her fingers, he holds tight to her hand. "I will," he says, gaze darting up to the Imperials and then over the square in an adrenaline-heightened frenzy of analyzation. "You," he snaps at Shenner. "Get over here." Leia mumbles bleakly, aware of Bec's anguished reaction, "You're hurt, Bec..." before her eyes find Valak's gaze returning to her. "You should get everyone clear from here, Bec. Too much danger. Please..." Troy awakens again on the ground and comments "I gotta stop doing that.." and stands up again shakely he looks to Aerilaya "We gotta get him to the hospital..." As you examin the broken body of the feline you do noice his neck is quite broken, and part of his spinal coard has been severd. Also a few of his ribs have been proken and his right fore arm is very messed up, probally alot of cartiliage and ligimant damage. Slowly, ever so slowly, color starts inching back into Shenner's face. But her eyes are still mostly uncomprehending, and although she is still staring in Bec's direction, she doesn't seem to register the young man's order at first. But after a moment, she stumbles mechnically in Bec and Leia's direction. "Yes, my Lord." Adlerson replies, though he is not ready to leave the fine line he's walking quite yet. "We, your Empire, is loosing more than it is gaining by this.." He waves a hand around at the people spread on the ground. "..this.. Majestic show of power." Thinking it's better to stop he shuts up and lower his gaze again, just as submissive, just as loyal, but obviously concerned with how he will acomplish his mission after this. He is speaking with a low voice, since this isn't something he pushes in public. Aerilaya she looks at him, "just sit down, you probably have a concusion. "Soemoen will have ot call an ambulance. WE can not move him atall.." From the south grey-clad humanoid shapes can be seen working their way up either side of the street. Their faces are hidden behind the shields of their helmets, blank and featureless. Each carries a heavy rifle of local manufacture, mottled in the same pattern of the armour and blending with the armour itself. They move quick and cat-like... one moving up to the next cover while others cover them. Smooth and methodical. The locals /really/ hate it when people run roughshod over their neutrality and try to fight their wars on their soil... generally, the more armed and trained they come, the more they hate visitors who can't behave themselves. Troy shaking his head "Nahh, i'm fine..." wobbles a bit "errr but i think i may sit beside him to give him comfort.." smiles and pulls out a cigar and lights it. Troy sits down beside Kaein. Tajan enters the square from the north. Tajan has arrived. Valak nods at the Admiral, "Your concerns are understandable, Admiral, but are of no concern to me, are are the coming security troops. Return to your ship. Inform the President that if she wishes to speak to me on this matter, I will contact her when I return to Dreven. If you feel your mission here is spoiled, then return to O'Paal, but I will be less than pleased with your failure, this incident notwithstanding." Aerilaya she looks at troy, "Waht exactly happened?" Kaein continues bleeding Adlerson swallows at that and bows from his waist again, the thought of giving up never on his mind. "I will not fail or give up, my Lord." With that he straightens up, sends a gaze in the direction of the aproaching troops, then back to Valak. With a sharp nod he turns on his heals then walks off in the direction of the Embassy district with quite a pace, a small alien by his side. Preferring to clutch onto what anonymity he's gained by the insurrection, the rather infamous bounty hunter is silent, at odds with himself. 'Pitiful creature deserved worse.', he concludes, the matter of the horansi dismissed at that. He watches and waits - there could be profit to be had, and Detjin is not one to miss an opportune moment. Aerilaya looks around, "Can someone get me an ambulance here??" Troy looks up at aerilaya (whos gotta get a shorter name 0-)) and points roughly in the direction of Valak and Adlerson "ummm He fried her.." now pointing to Leia "I tried ta help..but got smashed...and so did.."taping Kaein "And i think my furry friend here got the worst of it..." "I will," Bec repeats, eyes still darting neurotically to Valak as Adlerson leaves. He may look harmless for now, but the lieutenant's not about to lose track of his actions, not with the princess still on the ground in front of him. "I am. We're going to get you out of here first, ma'am." As Shenner finally arrives, Bec points to Leia's other shoulder. "Pick her up. I'll get this side." He detaches the princess's blaster form her hip and holds it, sliding that arm under the woman's shoulders. He continues to watch the Jedi. Valak turns abruptly and stalks off in the oppsite direction, using a Force trick he manipulates the psyches of the people watching him to forget that he was the perpetrator. The confusion allows him to slip away into the crowds unnoticed. Valak rolls a 35 for his ALTER skill. A Heroic roll! As she staggers to Bec and Leia, Shenner can be seen to still be quite ashen, sweat beading her brow and streaking down one cheek. And as Valak slips off... she stumbles, and nearly falls. Adlerson walks down East Blake St. Adlerson has left. Athahk walks down East Blake St. Behind the first line of troops comes a short convoy of vehicles... military ambulances, and green painted light armoured vehicles... Tajan rolls a 1 for his WILLPOWER skill. A Very Poor roll! Kaein rolls a 14 for his WILLPOWER skill. An Average roll! Leia rolls a 24 for her WILLPOWER skill. An Excellent roll! Kaein rolls a 17 for his WILLPOWER skill. A Good roll! Troy rolls a 4 for his WILLPOWER skill. A Very Poor roll! "N-no..." Leia protests bleakly as shifting her to an upright position earns an unpreventable gurgle of distress. "Follow him, Bec. Follow -him-." Somehow, Shenner manages to avoid falling over on the Princess. Only two or three shades less pale than the older woman, the young musician crumples to her knees next to her, trying to shake her head, as if to clear it. This, apparently, is a very bad idea; her eyes clamp shut and a tiny whimper escapes her. Valak slips into the rear of the crowd, he finds a nice alleyway to hide in to watch the arrival of the Casparian security forces and medical teams. Troy turns and looks at Kaein "Awww he's also bleeding pretty bad...we should stop that.." and starts to work on the wounds of the furry guy. Bec just shakes his head at Leia, too confused to follow her instructions. "We've got to get you out of here," he repeats. "He was going to... Someone was going to..." He shakes his head again, the point toward which he'd been aiming his blaster and his ire now gone from the square. Shenner is a handy replacement target for the latter. "Get up," he snaps. "And take hold of the princess. Be careful with her. We've got to get her out of here, and we've got to get her to the hospital." That much, he's clear on. Aerilaya pulls troys hands away, "No sorry you can't do that. I will fix that up. "She works quickly and presses soem goz on the wound. Webb walks to the south. Webb has left. Slithering downward, because the gimpy Bec and swooning Shenner can't support even her lightweight frame, Leia protests again with feeble insistence, "I'll be all right. He's gone. See to the others and find Han. Bec, for once, do what I say. Please. The military has to know he's here." Valak, satisfied with hsi work, turns and leaves the square area. Shenner blinks dazed eyes at Bec, croaking, "Help... y-yeah... yeah..." She turns unsteadily to Leia, trying to help her up. The girl's efforts are fairly clumsy, but there's concern breaking past the frightened mask that's dominated her features, and she tries to get the Princess's arm around her. With an eerie calmness about him, the bounty hunter's eyes skim the participants, putting the arriving military out of mind - for the time being, when he see's her. 'Leia Organa-Solo.', and behind the realization builds the beginnings of aplan. Troy looks up at Aerialay and then his eyes seem to take abit to focus "err okay..yeah got it..." Tries to stand again, barely making it "I gotta get to work.." and starts to stumble away from the scene towards the spaceport. Canon enters the square from the south. Canon has arrived. Valak has left. Aerilaya she turns to hijm ,"Get back her.. You are not goign anywhere." Canon strolls along casually, hands resting within his pockets. He blinks for a moment taking in the scene. Troy walking more like somebody who is drunk but the blood on his back and head say different, he puffs on his cigar. as he walks he leans against the odd tree or bench...turns back "aww i'm fine...." and continues. Detjin immediately dives into the fray, behaving as one who belongs. He approaches Leia, and those around here. "Let me.", he states gently, in accented basic. "You've all to check into our infirmary." He wears an expression of sincerity, and gestures that he should take Leia up. "WHO?" Bec demands of the princess, shoving the no longer needed blaster at Shenner so that he can get a better grip on Leia. "I'll tell General Solo. I promise. I'll tell Mon Mothma, and Admiral Ackbar, and anyone else you want me to tell, but--" He pauses, as Detjin approaches, and gives the man a wholly paranoid stare. "Who're you," he demands. Aerilaya walks to the south. Aerilaya has left. Troy turns and see's that the doc left Kaein he stubmles back to him and says "Doctors.....there not worth the trouble.." knowing Kaein is out and dieing so he is not going to mind the cigar smoke. he starts dressing Kaeins wounds. Detjin actually appears hurt, playing his part to a tee. "I'm a paramedic.", he says, giving Bec a quizical, of-course-I-am look. "She is in need of attention, and you're in no shape to help her." He moves in, offering to take her in his arms. "Now please, let me do my job, hmm?" Shenner loops an arm around the Princess, and it's anybody's guess whether she's doing it to support Leia or the other way around. The girl blinks owlishly at Bec's proferred blaster, but manages to rally her wits enough to take the thing, and as she does she peers darkly up at the Rodian who's approached. Detjin At first glance, a Rodian, though different somehow. Deeply black eyes, set well-into a leathery, time worn face mark his years. Though whether it is his lean, tightly strung physique paired with his calculating gaze, or perhaps the mere visage of his dark, strangely detached manner for a bounty hunter; one thing is for certain, no good can come of his presence. He is wearing a light armor of sorts, comprised of a vest and clipped extenstion plates reaching mid-thigh, all of a speckled, metallic gray blue. Underneath, a simple long-sleeved shirt and slacks, both of loose fitting black fabric. -=-=-=-=-=-=<>=-=-=-=-=-=- => Light Armor => Rodian Dagger Leia Brown. The color, in its richest state, is found first and most noticeably in her large eyes and lustrous hair, juxtaposed as it is with the flawless cream of her complexion. Her features, too, lure the attention of observers thanks to their subtle beauty and refined demeanor: she is every inch a princess. And yet...and yet...now and again, that noble bearing may slip in favor of the tomboy who coexists with the princess inside so diminutive a frame; the change is apparent in the quirk of her expressive lips or the mischievous twinkle in her gaze. Still, gentlewoman or gamine, she wields her authority and blaster with equal grace, speaks with eloquent elegance, even certain multilingual curses, and remains a tiny armada in female form. She has chosen, for today, a lightweight, narrowly cut dress in subdued red, a long knitted beige greatcoat atop the dress. Her luxurious brown hair is in a pair of braids that are looped up, the ends tucked somewhere out of sight underneath. -=-=-=-=-=-=<>=-=-=-=-=-=- => Lightsaber Canon's lips loop downwards into a frown. He keeps his distance though making no move to help injuried parties. All of the jostling and loss of grip isn't particularly soothing to the weakened princess, who hisses through clenched teeth at Bec, "Valak, Bec. Tell them Valak is here," before her knees uncooperatively fold again. "Just let me rest here. I'll be fine. I'll be fine." Shenner holds Leia as best she can as the Princess slumps. And as Detjin tries to move in on the woman, it's apparent that the girl is almost as paranoid as Bec. Still white-faced, still shaken and sweating, she points the wavering front end of Bec's blaster at Detjin and croaks at him thickly, "G'way." Kaein is dying over here Suddenly Several Emergency Vechels show up and medics start filtering throught the crowd looking for injuried. 2 Men show up and hoist Kaein onto a stretcher and haul him away, treating his wounds and making sure he is not further injuired. They also take Troy away dispite his protestes. Detjin turns his head slowly to look down at Shenner, giving her a sympathetic look. "Lie easy, madam. Help is on the way." He finishes with a reassuring nod, looking once again at Bec for his go-ahead. the Medics have harder time getting to Leia as a larg crowd seems to have gathered around her. Bec flinches at the name, stunned at the sound of its distant echo in his memory. He repeats the name, confusion once again predominant. Maybe he's dizzy. Peering up at Detjin, he nods, focussing on the Rodian as something concrete. "You're a paramedic," he acknowledges with no further thought. "Fine. But I'm not leaving. No. I'm not leaving." This is said to Leia with a firm and incontrovertable stubbornness. "There are Imperials all over this blasted planet, and I'm not letting you out of my sight." Sympathetic though Detjin may be trying to appear, Shenner isn't exactly versed in reading the expressions or body language of Rodians. The kid frowns at the sentient, trying to prop up the shorter female who's leaning heavily into her side. Only when Bec speaks up again does the young redhead lower the shaking blaster. The Medics push there way to through the gathered crowd. Seeing Detjin is helping and is not wounded they uses his help to Take the injured to the medical Vechels. 2 more go and assist Shenner as she seems to be injured as well. Tajan tries to read some news, and a digitized female voice says, "Please deposit one credit for News Service." Tajan gives IGNews Terminal - Caspar some Standard Galactic Credits. Kaein walks down East Blake St. Kaein has left. Detjin doesn't waste a second. With all the care of handling a thermal, Detjin hoists Leia up easily into his strong arms, shaking his head at Bec. "Just stay where you are, sir. You'll see each other in the infirmary." He takes a step back, and gazes at the medical group assembling behind him. "Tend to this man and woman, I'm taking her,", giving Leia a slight lift, "she must be treated soon." He turns, shaking his head at the organic crowd moving every which way. "Hey... no... no," Shenner growls hoarsely at Detjin, her sluggish brain still not liking Leia being taken out of her grasp. She makes another small whimpering noise as the pair of medics arrive at her side, and she insists in a strengthless voice, "'Mokay, 'mokay... g'way..." There's not a mark on her, but still, the kid is as white as a sheet. Canon slips in and out and through the crowd trying to find a position where he can get a better look at the scene from. Withering with discomfort from the near-mortal injuries, Leia clenches her jaw and closes her eyes to tell the Rodian as kindly as she can under the circumstance, "Just...put me down, please. I'll be fine. Bec? Bec, get someone to look at your arm." "No," Bec repeats again, just as firmly. He plants a hand on Shenner's shoulder, using the girl to lever himself to his feet. "You're not taking her anywhere without me. I'm a New Republic officer, and she's a Councillor of our government. You're not going to just walk off with her, to who knows where." He stands unsteadily, one arm pressed awkwardly to his side. But he looks like he means it. And somewhere in the back of his mind, it does seem a little odd for someone to be carrying Leia away from the medical teams and their transports. "Medics, tend to this man before he hurts himself.", Detjin demands, and almost immediately helpful others, alien and human alike, gather around Bec speaking in soft reassuring tones. The Rodian simply walks away. Just another aid in the crowd, Detjin is faceless, wearing the guise of a concerned helpful citizen, like so many others about him. He acts as though the princess' quite protests are inaudible - as they nearly are, and, dodges through marines carefully, the precious human in his arms his main concern. Canon's eyebrows jump as he catches 'New Republic'. A slight smile shows through in his expression. "Quite a find," he murmers to himself. Shenner _isn't_ hurt, and she manages to wave off one of the medics, though the second one eyes the girl dubiously as Shen wobbles to keep herself on her feet. "Help _her_!" the kid insists, pointing after Leia and Detjin. After all, it was _Leia_ who got toasted, not her... the thought, however, staggers Shenner, and while one of the medics who've approached her relents and heads off after Detjin and Leia, the second one stays by the girl and keeps her on her feet, murmuring gently to her. "Stop where you are, and put her -down-," Bec shouts, with all the authority of an executive officer, his hand jerking toward Shenner in search of the blaster to back up his demand. Along the way, he elbows a medtech, and knees another one out of the way, starting after the Rodian, at a pace to match. "Stop NOW, or I'll shoot you where you stand." Medics and authorities, responding to Shenner's shout, start toward the Rodian as well, though some of the more pragmatic halt again at Bec's threat. Troy jumps out of the ambulance with his head wrapped, and medics yelling at him. He nods "nahh i'm fine...." and walks away, lighting his cigar. Injured she may be, and badly so, Leia Solo is no fool and, Force or not, she knows something is rotten in the state of Caspar. She struggles against his grip, wishing to the twin suns she could use either the Force or her lightsaber with any skill whatsoever. It's not the first time she's had that wish today. "He'll shoot, you know," she advises thickly, "so I'd stop if I were you." It's the medic by Shenner who reacts to Bec's demand for his gun, trying to interpose and suggest, "I think we should--" But Shenner blindly thrusts the weapon at the young officer before going rather alarmingly white; this distracts the medic quite thoroughly as the woman holds Shen up, beginning a diagnostic scan on the girl. Troy pulls out his blaster as there is now more screaming and threating words (yes i have a permit or two). he goes to a knee and looks for the bad guys..he wobbles a little.. Unseen, the Rodian's grip tightens considerably, squeezing the princess as silent protest. The crowds of Marines, not to mention firefighters, commoners, and medics, will simply have to do for the valiant human's targets; his reasoning, and heightens his pace to bound straight into a slew of beings, complete with flashing light and siren - a diversion of epic proportions. And this Rodian won't miss it for the world. "'Mokay, 'mfine," Shen keeps insisting to the female medic who's deftly looking her over. The woman can be seen to frown in bemusement; her scanner as well as her trained eye report that this young woman does appear to be uninjured. The medic's instincts, however, still are disapproving of Shenner's pallor, and she murmurs several gentle but insistent words of advice to the redhead before reluctantly leaving her be. The renewal of commotion, however, draws the medic's attention quickly in Detjin and Leia's direction. Leia's injuries are not appreciating the jostling and jolting they're receiving from Detjin, and she realizes muzzily that if she doesn't do something soon, life as she knows it will take a turn for the worse. So, utilizing one of the few weapons left to her, she shifts in his arms and takes the deepest chomp she can out of the Rodian's bicep. Troy seeing where the comotion is coming from again he moves his way towards it. Canon finds his way to the front of the crowd and a better viewing spot although a close one just as Leia takes a bite out of Detjin. "Stop the Rodian," Bec shouts this time, right at the crowd of Marines. He's not likely to catch the being on his own, since his typical smashball-player's rush is hampered somewhat by his broken arm. "Stop him now. Shoot him." Though not typically bloodthirsty, the lieutenant is appropriately paranoid after the attack by Valak. And hoping, too, that the threat of blaster fire will get some of the civilians out of the way. Tajan leaves the square to the north. Tajan has left. How appropriately unfortunate for the princess and her underlings - the bite brings out of the bounty hunter a gasp, and a surge of adrenaline the likes he had never felt before. Pain, danger, death - these things burned into his mind, but above them all, the ominous golden glow of the hunt, the victory. He pulls into a rightout run, his mind clear and body quickened. He runs -for- the citizens, forcing them to fall in his wake as he presses southward, nearing his goal, and the clear. Troy see's that Bec is pointing at the Rodain and the Captive Leia. He runs a hand over his face, in apprent why me sign. he heads in the direction of Detjin, slow and cumbersome, but determined. Aerilaya enters the square from the south. Aerilaya has arrived. Rodo enters the square from the south. Rodo has arrived. Aerilaya enters the Sandbar. Aerilaya has left. Rodo enters the Sandbar. Rodo has left. Canon blinks at the Rodain, blaster in hand within a moment. He's certainly not going to lose this find. He's after them in a moment. Shen's medic hasn't moved too far away from her, and thus, the fair-haired woman snaps her gaze around back at the girl when the Rodian charges the crowd. Shenner's reaction time is down, and she doesn't see the woman who reaches for her and adroitly pulls her back out of the way. Rabid enters the square from the west. Rabid has arrived. Troy decides he can not help the sitution and turns to the south going to the starport. Slides his blaster into its holster. and wobbles away slowly. Troy walks to the south. Troy has left. There's mass chaos in the square, with medical units and detachments of Marines filling the picturesque spaces. Civilians are scattering away from a Rodian running for the edge of the location, Princess Leia held roughly in his arms. Marines have been alerted to his escape plans, and are as concerned with his flight as they are with Bec, who's pointing a blaster at Detjin's back. "Keep still - if you want to live.", the Rodian orders to Leia, under his breath. He turns to his pursuers all at once, unmoving. "Get back-" he orders loudly, all the while taking slow steps behind him. Without undue flare, the Rodian shifts the weakened woman in his arms, making his right hand, which is clenched, visible. He opens it - a thermal -, and pulls back the dead man trigger, lighting the horrible device up. "...Or Organa dies." His dark eyes seek challenge, flitting between the onlookers. He continues ever backward. Chamracca enters the square from the south. Chamracca has arrived. In the midst of the mayhem, Shenner has stumbled around trying to shake off the insistent hands of the medic who'd been examining her. As she does this, the Sandbar's front door opens, revealing the face of the younger of the bartenders and a couple of the members of the establishment's regular band. The three of them are staring out in shock and horror at the scene, and they can be seen to whisper urgently among themselves. Then the young bartender, Ariani, and the Corellian drummer start inching around the very outer edge of the crowd, trying to give the combatants as wide a berth as possible while making their way towards Shenner. Rabid, just like only a few weeks ago, comes rushing into the square, alerted by the chaotic sounds that can be heard way down the street. He instantly notes the area of attention in the square and angles towards it. A quick, smooth motion brings his Archaic-looking sidearm out of its shoulder holster, as soon as he sees what the presumed bounty hunter is carrying. "Coward", he mutters, slowly stepping towards his target, though still quite a distance away, holding his gun in a two-handed grip. Ariani and Loren's passage is difficult at best, what with several marines trying to keep the civilians out of the line of fire. But the bartender and the drummer fight their way on the outer edge of the crowd until they reach the medic and the shaken-looking redheaded singer. The medic sees them coming, and urgent words are exchanged between the trio. "Shen, what the hells--" "Kid, you alright?" "Here, something's wrong with her, get her out of here _now_--" The medic, immediately sensing that the two arrivals must be friends of the girl, hands Shenner off to them and turns her attention to the scene at hand, grimly expecting her duties are about to be needed. Canon raises an eyebrow at Detjin. "And yourself as well? Honestly." His blaster stays raised and aimed. Tajan enters the square from the north. Tajan has arrived. Tajan heads down West Blake St. Tajan has left. Leia stills as the thermal detonator is revealed, and to the Rodian holding her she murmurs, "You're going to get yourself killed, you know..." "Give it up," Bec says, coming to a halt and adding his blaster to the multitude now pointing at the bounty hunter. Civilians have ducked for cover, leaving a circle of deadly muzzles facing the Rodian, from the New Republic lieutenant, assorted good samaritain bystanders, and a contingent of local marines. "You can't get out with her, and if you try it, you're just going to get yourself killed too." His outstretched hand shakes just slightly as he levels the weapon with what he hopes is deadly precision, despite the unfamiliar hand. "'Mokay, 'mfine," Shenner insists, but feebly. The girl doesn't look quite so deathly ashen, but she's still clearly shaken by _something_. Ariani and Loren don't appear to be taking no for an answer here as the two of them each take the young singer by an arm and haul her as quickly and as quietly away from the square as they can. [And, unfortunately, Shenner misses the rest of the action... end log.]
