Log Date: 7/7/98 Log Cast: Leanna Lar, Shenneret Veery Log Intro: Ever since Sinjon Teague had left her alone on Calamari with the entreaty to seek out Luke Skywalker -- and to take the time she needed to heal and to devote her attention to her music and her studies -- the young musician Shenner has been living her quiet life. But the calm that's descended upon her with the Horansi Seeker's ministrations has occasionally begun to waver. She's begun to have disturbing flashes of memory, and to wonder again why the Corellian she loves, Paul Nighman, has mysteriously vanished out of her life. On this particular night, Shenner has found herself sorely missing Paul, half of her wondering how he could have left her without so much as a goodbye... and the rest of her callously remembering that she'd always expected him to leave her, anyway. Neither thought particularly eases the pain of his absence, and Shenner has found herself uncomfortably attempting to channel her worry and frustration into finishing a song she'd once tried to write the _last_ time Paul had abandoned her, not particularly worried about what kind of audience she might pick up in the Coral City square.... ---------- Leanna arrives from North Coral Avenue. Leanna has arrived. Leanna looks at you for a moment. Leanna walks down the street slowly, as she moves towards the fountain, sitting down slowly, looking about her in a slightly confused fashion, before letting out a quiet sigh, as she looks up to the stars. The sharp, short chords of a guitar are at odds tonight with the bubble of the fountain in the middle of the square, though relatively softly played. The guitar player, her red head bowed slightly over her instrument, is a slender young woman sitting on the pavement round the fountain, her back up against its surrounding wall. And she might be heard sing-growling, "Corellian men, you'd best be true... and faithful in the loving you do... or else let gods have pity on you...." She trails off, then, muttering, "Damn!" Leanna blinks as the words of the song filter to her ears, and she looks over towards the source of the music, in slight suprise, as the words sink in, and frowns, chewing the side of her lip thoughtfully, as she shifts in her seat, to hear the music more clearly. From the sound of it, the red-headed singer is either trying to write a song, or trying to learn one she doesn't know yet. She keeps strumming at the guitar, carrying on the melody although she's slackened off on the singing. After a few minutes, though, she picks up again: "Her hair is like the setting sun... her grace and speed, they are rivaled by none... but you soon shall rue the deed you have done... if you lie with the Corellian's Lady..." Leanna grins slightly, as she listens to the music, leaning her arms forward to lean casually on her knees, as she moves a hand to lightly pat her stomach.."best you remeber that mister..", she chuckles quietly, before leaning back, humming quietly, though a little off key, as the music hits her ears. The singer falls silent again, though, and the young redhead, scowling, abruptly halts her song with a frustrated, jangled chord. "Godsdammit," she mutters fervently, lifting a hand to scrub restlessly at her eyes. Leanna blinks as she hears the young singers cursing, and frowns slightly, and stands, with a small groan.."My back will never be the same..", she sighs, as she moves thru the thinning crowd, over more towards the young woman, and smiles slightly towards her, as she sits on the edge of the fountain.."I hope you don't mind...I kind of was enjoying your music actually..The lyrics a tad rough perhaps..", and she chuckles quietly, her eyes smiling with a kind glint. Shenner blinks, looking up in apparent startlement, then she flashes a lopsided grin. "Ah, hells no, if I didn't want people to hear me I wouldn't be out here at this hour, but this song ain't done yet. Hiya." Leanna chuckles and nods, with a smile.."Figured that..Hallo to you as well.", and she shifts in her seat, glancing at the guitar curiously.."I allways wanted to play an instriment..Never was much with an ear for music though I'm afraid." The distraction apparently welcome to the redheaded girl, she shifts the guitar in her lap, strumming a few more chords, and following the stranger's glance to her instrument. There's pride in the redhead's features, though her voice is merely casual as she remarks, "I do okay at it, but I been workin' on it for years." Leanna chuckles and then sighs, her brows wrinkling slightly, as she looks at the guitar thoughtfully, and then down at her stomach absently.."Maybe you'll be musical, eh?", and she blushes slightly, glancing up with an impish grin.."Sorry bout that..I talk to him quite a bit..That must seem strange, I know.." Shenner blinks again, peering more curiously at this woman who's stopped before her, her eyes going visibly wide. "Whoa," she murmurs. Then she grins again, bemusedly. "Uh... I guess, I dunno. Never seen a pregnant woman before." Leanna blinks and her cheeks flush with color, and she coughs, running a hand thru her hair.."Well..it isn't catchy..don't worry..", and she tosses her a grin, as she leans back more against the wall, shifting her weight slightly and sighs. Shenner abruptly lets out a bark of a laugh, and drawls, "Well, I _do_ know that much." She smirks, strikes another chord on the guitar, and strums out a few bars of the song she was playing before. "I ain't likely to be in your condition any time soon, that's for damned sure." But her green gaze lingers curiously on the woman's rounded belly, nevertheless. "Um... if you, uh, don't mind..." She pauses, perhaps embarrassed and trying to hide it. "What's it, uh... like?" Leanna blinks as a hand comes to rest instictively on her stomach, and smiles softly.."Wonderfull actually..though scary at the same time..wondering..", and she stops, her eyes taking on a far away look, and she sighs quietly, chewing on her bottom lip.."Wondering if I am doing the right thing..", and she stops, with a slight shrug, looking down at her hands. Shenner's dark red eyebrows go up. "I'd say," she observes dryly, "that it's a little late for changin' your mind, huh?" She keeps idly strumming, the chords losing their bite, though she keeps toying with the same melody. Leanna blinks and looks back over to Shenner with a startled laugh.."Oh that I know...it's the rest I don't know yet..", and she sighs, shaking her head slightly.."Here's a song for you..I had a good job, as head of Kiknar Station Security, and gave it all up, to be with a man..who, happens to be a Corellian, like meself..and says he loves me..", and she stops, an emberressed flush tinging her cheeks, as she looks up at the stars to cover up her uncomfotableness. The redhead's eyebrows climb higher, and she lets out an audible snort. "Well, I guess a Corellian woman knows Corellian men better 'n' I do, but if I were you, I'd run screamin'." Her tone remains amiable enough, but now there's an edge under it, and she flicks her gaze down to her instrument as she keeps up her strumming.... a little harder and rougher, now. Leanna blinks as she looks back towards the young woman, and smiles softly, allmost wistfully.."I know..I know..the more I tried to..", she sighs, her brows wrinkling together slightly.."He wants me to marry him...before the child is born. The idea scares me to death, I must admit!", and she blushes deeper, her fingers wringing together nervously. The musician glances greenly back up at the other woman, expression a strange melange of smirk and smile. "Huh. If you got him all the way to askin' for marriage, guess that's somethin', but I wouldn't believe it till you got his voiceprint on the license." Her tone mellows, just slightly. "Know a coupla Corellians who're married... so I guess it's possible." Though she doesn't actually say it, her tone implies, 'Not freggin' likely, but possible...' Leanna chuckles and rolls her eyes.."I know one or two myself...but, well...I guess Grei might be from more stable stock..", and sighs slightly.."But,...Corellian none the less..I just want to do right by this child, more then anything, I guess..", and she blushes faintly, glancing at the other woman, with an impish grin.."I'm Leanna by the way..since I seem to be blabbing about myself to you..at least should tell you my name, I figure." "Shenner," says the young redhead, gruffly. She manages a crooked grin, which then subsides into a straightforward, earnest expression that somehow makes her look extremely young. "You wanna do the right thing for the kid?" She pauses, then concludes, "Get him a father." Leanna blushes, as she glances down at her stomach, and then up to Shenner with a sad smile.."I know, it's what I _should_ do...but the idea of marraige..well...I..", and she stops, with a sigh, as she chews her lip.."I had allways run the other way, before now..except once..and he ended up duying.." "Well," says Shenner, "I'm here to tell ya. Havin' a father who died beats the hells outta never havin' a father at all, I'm here to tell ya." She stares at the other woman steadily as she says this, a moment or two after she finishes, as if to drive her point home. Leanna nods slowly, as she tucks her cloak more tightly around her, her eyes clouding over.."Aye..I know..", and she sighsleaning forward on her knees with her elbows, running a hand thru her hair slowly, as she watches the thinning crowd of people, pass down the street. Leanna Standing before you is a human female. She stands roughly 5'8" tall. Her blue eyes sparkle with life, though have a slightly weary edge to them, as she takes in her surroundings with quick accuracy. Her wavy black hair, hangs smoothe down past her shoulders, and her fair skin radiates with a healthy glow. Her form is a little plump, mostly around the middle, and her long tunic does little to hide her growing waistline. The sleeves are full, and end tightly at the wrists, and the low, scooped neckline accentuates her curves, rather then hide them. Her black slacks are form fitting, and her boots end just below the knee, and are pollished to perfection. Around her shoulders is a short black cloak, to keep away the chill, and thin, black gloves on her hands. Around her hips is a double houlster, with a blaster on either side. -=-=-=-=-=-=<>=-=-=-=-=-=- => Elite-1 Stun Pistol => Protective Vest => Quick-6 Sporting Blaster Shenner half-smiles, stilling her guitar strings. She sighs, then says, "So, well. You got your baby, your baby needs a Da, the guy loves ya and says he wants to marry ya..." She rolls a shoulder in a shrug. "Do ya trust him?" Leanna glances up with a small but sure smile.."With my life I do..I know he'd wo right by me...I'm just the one who's commitment shy...not him." Shenner's expression settles down into something that might be a kind of quiet resignation, one corner of her mouth curling up. "Well, do ya love him?" Leanna blushes and looks up, nodding slowly.."Aye..with all my heart.." "Then marry him," says the girl with the guitar, focusing on the woman who's stopped to talk to her, with an uncanny intensity to her large and luminous green eyes. "Marry him, stay with him, and get that baby a dad." Then she cuts off, and abruptly jerks her gaze away, seeming definitely embarrassed now. Leanna blushes, as she looks at her hands, and then back up to Shenner with a small smile.."Thank you Shenner..", and chuckles, her cheeks tinging slightly.."Hells, maybe I'll even have you play at the wedding then!" Shenner lets out another short sharp laugh, getting up to her feet, gathering the guitar and settling it into its case. "Huh. You wanna let street rats into your wedding, maybe I'll show, who knows." She flicks the case closed, hauls it up into her slender arms, and pauses with a faint crooked smile. "Nice runnin' into ya. Uh..." The smile fades. "Good luck." And with that, her expression still somehow haunted, troubled, she slips off into the night. [End log.]
