Log Date: 1/24/97 Log Cast: Shenner, Grathix Log Intro: The young thief known as Shenner, who has been stalking the streets of Mos Eisley busking by day and pickpocketing by night, has gained an unexpected benefactor in a man who's identified himself only as Grathix. Employed by Grathix to 'frob a shot' to a woman called Simone Drake on a planet called Etti IV, Shenner has been considering many troubling ramifications of this job -- not the least of which is her lack of knowledge of Grathix's choice of slang, about the planet in question, and about Grathix himself. But Shenner's empty purse argues powerfully for not asking too many questions. Invited by Grathix to get a place to stay at the Twin Suns Hotel and Casino, she slips through the city till she finds that place.... ---------- You place your hand on a scanner in the door. It quickly opens for you , immediately sliding shut behind you once you enter. Entrance Hall - Twin Suns Hotel and Casino This is a well lit entrance hall. On either side of the wide hall hang various objects that at first glance do not appear to be decorations, but rather weapons of war. Many seem to date back as far as the Clone Wars, or perhaps even earlier. At the end of the hall, a grand archway leads to the casino where the sounds of games in progress emenate. To the north, a smaller archway leads to the bar, where people may stop in for a quiet drink and count their winnings, or dispair over their losses. Grathix stands under the archway leading to the Gaming Hall, observing the people come and go. Grathix looks at you for a moment. DROID: W8-809 enters the "Twin Suns" from the main entrance, small debris of sand falling from its clothing. DROID: W8-809 has arrived. Grathix strolls toward Shenner as 'he' enters and says, "So, how are you this day? Seen any Jawas lately?" Grathix smiles ever so slightly. DROID: W8-809 leaves the "Twin Suns" via the main entrance and heads out into the streets of Mos Eisley. DROID: W8-809 has left. Grathix watches the droid come and go and waits beside the 'thief' Shenner comes in, glances about, and smirks faintly. "Doesn't seem to be the corner of town for Jawas," the tenor voice murmurs. Grathix grins, "Exactly. Anyhow, how has your stay here been?" Shenner glances at you, and says dryly, "Started off kinda slow. Security's good here. Almost threw me out before I mentioned you." Grathix nods, "So long as they treat you right. Any complaints let me know and I'll take care of it." Grathix glances at your attire and says, "I see the classics are still in style." Shenner's pale, lean mouth twists in a bit of a grin; the green eyes sweep once around the place, noting presences of those here, before returning to you. "Sand blends in. Even in here. I've got more clothes; I'll use 'em when the time is right." Grathix nods, "Fine. Just don't be surprised if you catch some lip from some clients thinking you a vagrant or beggar." The young thief smirks once, and the hard green glare flicked off across the room suggests this may well have already happened. "Got news, pal -- I _am_ a vagrant. Beggar, no. I don't beg for anything." Grathix chuckles, "Maybe that'll change soon." He reaches into his pcoket and withdraws a stack of credits. Grathix hands the credits to you. Grathix gives you 150 Credits. Grathix says, "Here. Go have some fun. Its on me. Also, we leave tomorrow." Shenner quirks an eyebrow, and turns round slightly to look at you more fully. "An advance?" The thief smiles a bit, then thumbs through the money, and the smile turns into a feral, lopsided grin. "Just tell me when and where to be." Grathix begins to move toward the archway leading to the bar. He doesn't turn around to look at the thief when he sys, "Meet me in the Manager's office tomorrow. We'll leave from there." "I'll be there," comes the low reply, as the thief slips off in another direction. Grathix makes his way to the bar room, nodding cordial to whomever he passes. Grathix heads into the bar looking for some place quieter, or perhaps merely to escape notice of unwanted eyes. Grathix has left. [And later....] Hotel Lobby - Twin Suns Hotel and Casino You find yourself in an immense hall, elegantly furnished. The floor is layered with a fine, rich carpet of Amber color, soft to the step. Though no windows are present, the entire room is softly illuminated with several great crystalline chandeliers. The ardous and sandy climate of the outside is quickly forgotten in the cool and refreshing atmosphere present in this lobby. A casual look about reveals the numerous air conditioning vents responsible for maintainig the lobby's artificial climate. Several large sofas align a good portion of the loby, some encircling the large pillars that sustain this edifice. Along the walls are paintings from some of the most prestigious artists, past and present, to ever come out from the Core Worlds, paintings that should be exhibited on the walls of museums. Towards the northern area of the lobby is the reception desk, mainted by a C-3PO series protocol droid. Near the archway leading to the Entrance Hall stand the consierge, a Twi'lek responding to the name of ???. Towards the northern area of the lobby is the reception desk, mainted by a C-3PO series protocol droid. The elevators leading to the guest rooms are located toward the eastern portion of the Lobby. Behind the reception desk is the Manager's Office. Contents: Grathix Obvious exits: orth - leads to Manager's Office - Twin Suns Hotel and Casino. est - leads to Entrance Hall - Twin Suns Hotel and Casino. Grathix walks in from the entrance and begins to make his way to the Manager's office. Shenner sits on one of the less obtrusive sofas, stance less openly casual than it might be in the Cantina. Her green eyes scan the room, though, with no less wariness than she would use in that seedier establishment. Grathix strolls up to the protocol droid and asks for the Guest list. Grathix glances over the list then heads behind the counter and takes a look at some screens. Grathix turns to the droid and says, "So where is he? He's not in his room." Shenner straightens slightly where she sits, watching Grathix, and she smiles narrowly. Grathix tells the droid, "Well if you see him, give me a ring." Grathix shakes his head. Grathix says, "smal nnylf ttefabob lubda smal redav aschc aschc duomham mozminic smal" in Mandalorian. Grathix turns and enters the manager's office Grathix places his hand against the access panel and slips into the Manager's Office. Grathix has left. Grathix has arrived. Shenner watches the Manager's door, now, and as Grathix re-emerges, she speaks, just loud enough to carry slightly, "Looking for me?" Grathix looks at the Shenner and says flatly, "No. I knew where you were...here." Grathix turns again to the droid and speaks. Grathix says, "Have you located him? or anyone? Shit, even Blink!" in Basic. Shenner rises lithely to her feet -- which are in a comparatively new set of boots -- and quirks a dark eyebrow at the words to the Droid. The droid responds appeasingly, "No, sir. They are currently unavailable." Grathix simply shakes his head. Grathix says, "trebor" in Mandalorian. Grathix sighs and walks over to where shenner is standing, not bothering to look at the customers pasing by, or even acknowledging them. Grathix looks at the thief then glances back down. Almost in an immediate jerk of his head he looks back at 'him'. Grathix looks at you for a moment. Shenner crosses her arms, waiting patiently, though her stance is somewhat insolent as she says dryly, "Well?" Grathix cracks what might be a smile, "Well, looks like someone finally decide to live a little dangerously...new clothes?" Shenner(#9664Penc) To most if not all passing glances, this individual could be summed up as 'young male human', and certainly the walk, stance, and mannerisms seem like those a brash young man would have. The short, spiky cap of dark red hair, with a brief little comma of a forelock over the left side of the brow, is masculine in look, as is the lean, angular build and tallish height. But if this is indeed a human male, it is one with uncommonly delicate features, dominated by large, luminous, and sharply intelligent green eyes... and a closer regard may well reveal to the observer that this human's voice is a shade _too_ high to truly be a young man's tenor -- in fact, it sounds more like a young woman's contralto. This human is clad in blandly unobtrusive garb, the kind you might expect any common laborer or traveller to have on: a simple white tunic with a turned-up collar; a heavy, padded vest of dark grey, with multiple pockets; breeches of a slate-blue hue, tucked into scuffed but serviceable calf-high boots of a neutral tan suede. Over all of this is worn an overlarge brown flight jacket, big enough that it tends to obscure the utility belt at her waist -- and anything she might have stashed in it. She sees cordial enough, but wary and alert. Shenner's mouth curls; the thief's green eyes glitter. "New enough." Grathix looks at the thief and nods. "So, do anything interesting today?" "I suppose," drawls the young human lowly, "that depends on what you call interesting." Grathix says, "Why don't you come have a drink with me and tell me all about it, interesting or not."" Grathix motions Shenner to follow him, as he heads for the bar archway. Shenner shrugs lazily, and strides after. Grathix heads towards the Entrance Hall. Grathix has left. You make your way to the Entrance Hall. Entrance Hall - Twin Suns Hotel and Casino This is a well lit entrance hall. You decide to find a quiet place to relax for awhile. Casino Bar Room This is a dimly lit room, where people are able to escape the hassles of a hard life and relax. Several tables are barely visible, as well as a few booths scattered about the room. A circular bar stands in the center, an ultra-violet light hanging from above making it the most visible object in the room. Bar stools line the bar for patrons to perch on, while Dak'Thar, the mysterious six fingered barkeep busily waits on customers. (OOC NOTE: Type BAR HELP for instructions.) Contents: Grathix A Gamorrean Security Guard(#1016LXl) The Gormenghast Travellers Obvious exits: outh - leads to Entrance Hall - Twin Suns Hotel and Casino. A Gamorrean Security Guard steps forward and checks you against the warrants on Hand. Shenner's head turns towards the band, and quirks just a bit. Grathix heads for the bar Grathix quietly sits down at the roped off table. You step over the rope and take a seat at the private table. ROPE A booth strategically placed in the corner farthest from the door, allowing a clear view of the room while placing all seat backs against the wall. It is surrounded by a red velvet rope, knee-high, to keep out the curious. Additionally, that corner of the room is kept in darkness, although it looks like there might be a couple small reading lights for those with a book. Occupied: Danec Grathix Roped Off Table: Shenner slips into a chair, and comments, "Got a better band here..." Roped Off Table: Grathix shrugs, "Don't care much about bands or music. Roped Off Table: Grathix says, "So, tell me of your little adventures into the underground that is Mos Eisley." Roped Off Table: Shenner chuckles a little, lowly, then shrugs, as if the matter is inconsequential, but her head stays slightly turned towards the band as she says, "Not many good musicians in Mos Eisley. I've looked. So." As you speak, she smirks. "What's to know? I got stranded here, I've been surviving ever since." Dak'Thar whips together a Ale and hands it to Grathix. Roped Off Table: Grathix looks at you and says, "What'll you have?" Grathix takes a sip of his Ale. Roped Off Table: Shenner glances over the ale, and then grins crookedly. "Your cider better than Gr'ank's, here?" Roped Off Table: Grathix smirks, "So they say...we just charge a little more than." Grathix takes a drink from his Ale. Roped Off Table: Shenner says wryly, "Cider, then." Dak'Thar whips together a Cider for Shenner, which was kindly ordered by Grathix. Roped Off Table: Grathix hands you the Cider from the waiter's tray. "There you go." Roped Off Table: Grathix looks at you curiously, "Are you not much of a drinker? " Roped Off Table: Shenner inclines her head by way of thanks, and begins to sip at it. Her green gaze tracks about the room again, before returning to her companion, and she says at last, "I'll need to know about where we're going." She then chuckles. "Enough of one. When I need to be." Roped Off Table: Grathix nods, "Fair enough. Ask away." Grathix takes a drink from his Ale. Roped Off Table: Shenner considers, then begins, "Climate... society level... that kind of thing, to begin with." Roped Off Table: Grathix takes a brief sip of his ale and says, "They climate is no where like he one here. Its fresh and cool mostly. Society wise, not a whole lot of riff raff or scum around. The CSA keeps things pretty much inline." Grathix takes a drink from his Ale. Roped Off Table: Shenner says, "Lots of law enforcement, then.... better or worse than Imperials?" Shenner's tone turns slightly harder, colder. Roped Off Table: Grathix says, "Worse...they can't have any fouls ups, else the Empire might not be so lax on them anymore." Grathix looks at his empty Ale glass and calls a waiter over. Grathix places his order. Dak'Thar whips together a Black_Death and hands it to Grathix. Roped Off Table: Grathix looks at you again and says, "you sure you don't want anything stronger?" Grathix takes a sip of his Black_Death. Roped Off Table: Shenner sips cautiously at the ale and smiles thinly, but it's still a cold expression for such a young face. "I try not to make a habit of getting blitzed. Makes it tough to tackle Jawas.' Roped Off Table: Grathix shrugs, "You aren't gonna be tackleing Jawas, not for a while anyway." Roped Off Table: Grathix says, "Tell me, why the interest whether its Empirial affiliated or not?" Roped Off Table: Shenner sips long from her cider and says, "Let's just say I like Imperials as far away from me as possible." Roped Off Table: Grathix takes a long drink. Roped Off Table: Grathix says, "So what's your story kid? They kill your parents? Took away all you own?" Grathix takes a drink from his Black_Death. Roped Off Table: Shenner keeps her expression quite bland and neutral. "Nothing so maudlin. My mother died of... illness." Roped Off Table: Grathix asks, "An illness? How's that relate to the Impies?" Grathix takes a drink from his Black_Death. Roped Off Table: Shenner shrugs one shoulder, still studying you over the rim of her glass. "Little, except that my father wasn't there at the time." Roped Off Table: Grathix runs a finger aorund the rim of his drink and says, "Don't tell me your father was an imperial?" Roped Off Table: Shenner replies laconically, "So Mother claimed." Roped Off Table: Grathix grins to himself and drinks heftily from his glass. Grathix takes a drink from his Black_Death. The young thief's expression remains quite bland, but something, perhaps, of 'his' earlier hard tone remains in the low voice. "Can't say as I know for sure, since I've never met the man." Roped Off Table: Grathix looks at his drink and says, "Would you like to know?" Roped Off Table: Shenner blinks, pauses, then stares over at you, eyebrows first going up, then followed by a narrowing of the green eyes. And another shrug. "Won't make much difference in my life if I did -- the Imps don't tend to pay much attention to street rats." A smile, but one without mirth. "And for all I know, the Rebels prob'ly blew him sky high when they took out the Death Stars." Grathix stares at his now empty glass, again. Roped Off Table: Grathix says, "You wouldn't happen to be looking for a family, someplace to belong would you? I mean is that why you roam the cosmos as a street rat, looking?" Roped Off Table: Grathix rubs his eyes, maybe to adjust his focus? Roped Off Table: Shenner abruptly laughs, but not at you, and it's a sardonic little sound. "Only thing I've been looking for in Mos Eisley is where I'm going to get my next meal, how I'm going to get offworld, and how to track down the Corellian womprat who left me here." Roped Off Table: Grathix looks at you, "You don't look like a Tracker or hunter to me." Roped Off Table: Shenner gives that lopsided mirthless grin again, and says, "What you see is what you've got, big guy." Roped Off Table: Grathix motions a waiter over and places another order. Dak'Thar whips together a Black_Coffee and hands it to Grathix. Roped Off Table: Grathix takes long sip of his coffee. Grathix takes a sip of his Black_Coffee. Roped Off Table: Grathix says, "Maybe so. But with me. I mean, take a look at me. Do I look like I belong in this business?" Grathix Before you stands the figure of a 6'2" being. He wears a light brown, long-sleeved shirt tucked neatly into a loose fitting pair of black pants. On his feet, he wears a pair of well-kept and polished black boots. His attire is one of precision and neatness. His hair is combed back; his long, flowing black hair braided in the back. The braid rests on his right shoulder, reaching down towards his abdomen. He is dark skinned. His skin appears tough, as if conditioned by harsh climates. He is a handsome individual. His clothing does little to hide the well-toned and built physique that lays underneath. He has a pair of reptilian-looking crimson eyes that casually peruse his environment, each eye moving indepently from the other, as he takes in the sights before him. He walks and stands with the grace, calmness and confidence of someone who is always in complete control of any situation. He speaks with a pleasant, deep tone, rich with sincerity and with a slight edge of authority. On his left hand, he holds a large black case which he carries with ease. In his right hand, he holds a black leather duster neatly folded and drapped over his forearm. Carrying: Large Black Case (closed) By way of response, the young thief looks you over dispassionately, and answers, "What business would that be, then? You don't look like the crowd from the cantina, no." Roped Off Table: Grathix chuckles, "well, here, let me show you." Roped Off Table: Grathix pats a buttom on his briefcase and a small card dispenses. Roped Off Table: Grathix hands you the card. *************************************************************************** -= MandalMotors =- *************************************************************************** Grathix Stur'ttrakath - Vice President - Foreign Sales Representative *************************************************************************** Roped Off Table: Grathix turns his coffee cup around in his hand, "So you worried about tomorrow?" Roped Off Table: Shenner extends a slim hand to take the card, and deftly turns it about in 'his' fingers to look at it. It is immediately apparent that this 'street rat' can read, for the green eyes glance over the lettering on the card before lifting back to you. "Vice President, huh?" The card is placed on the table, and the hand that held it resumes holding cider. Then, 'he' smiles again, thinly. "I don't worry about tomorrows any more than I need to." Roped Off Table: Grathix nods, "Vice President. That's what it says. And that's all you know. Remember that." The thief inclines 'her' head -- which looks curiously bare without the protective headcloth -- and doesn't bat an eyelash. "For 1500 I'll forget this whole planet for you. Hells, I'd do that for free." Roped Off Table: Grathix says, "For some unknown reason, I think I've taken a shine to you kid. Definitely wouldn't want to see anything -bad- happen to you. So keep your wits about you as you've been doing and keep quiet." Grathix takes a drink from his Black_Coffee. Roped Off Table: Grathix leans his left elbow upon the table, his hand supporting his head, as he runs his hand through his hair. Roped Off Table: Grathix sits back straight and says, "What do you know about piloting a starfighter?" Roped Off Table: Shenner watches you shift position; if the thiefling has an opinion on the amount of alcohol you've consumed, that opinion remains unuttered. At the change of subject, then, 'he' answers, tone warming slightly, "Not much. I watched the Corellian fly _his_ bucket, at least on the way here. I could do it again, on a similar enough ship." Roped Off Table: Grathix says, "What type of vesssel did he fly?" Roped Off Table: Shenner smirks once more. "Called it a Ghtroc freighter. Old. Only needed him to fly it." Roped Off Table: Grathix chuckles to himself. "Woulnd't you know, we have one of those in stock at the moment. quite a few actually." Grathix takes a drink from his Black_Coffee. Grathix takes a drink from his Black_Coffee. Shenner's expression shifts, just a bit; perhaps that's a gleam of interest in the green eyes, too. "That a fact." Not quite a question, but less indifferent than before. Roped Off Table: Grathix pushes his coffe cup away..."things getting too cold." Roped Off Table: Grathix appears pensive for a moment, then says, "Follow me kid, I want to show you something..." Roped Off Table: Shenner slugs down the rest of 'his' cider, then quirks a brow. "Okay..." Grathix stands from his booth, the action requiring a visble conscious effort. Grathix says, "yendor yendor aschc lubda revned smal esor fuar" in Mandalorian. Grathix reaches for and grabs hold of his breifcase. Grathix motions to a waiter to take care of the table and begins to head for a neaarby wall. Grathix leans against it the wall, perhaps to support himself. Grathix motions Shenner to do the same beside him. Shenner follows along behind you, brow furrowed at your unsteady steps, but the thief keeps pace nevertheless. "Where're we going?" You sense: Grathix grins. Grathix whispers, "Just watch" Grathix seems to vanish from the room while you aren't looking. Grathix has left. You push open the secret door when no one is looking and step out onto the shuttle pad. Shuttle Pad A small, walled in shuttle pad out behind for casino. Too small for interstellar ships, it is just large enough to hold the small shuttle sitting here. (OOC: Type SHUTTLE to use the shuttle) Contents: Grathix Obvious exits: ast leads to Casino Bar Room. Grathix motions to the shuttle on the pad and says, "Hop in." Grathix has left. Grathix steps into a shuttle, which flies away. Another soon arrives and takes its place. You get into the shuttle and are quickly flown back to the V'ez-Tcha HQ. V'ez-Tcha Spaceport This is a giant sunken desert crater that has been turned into a massive Space Port. It is protected on all sides by the high crater walls, which the constant heat and wind have blown into a near solid rock surface. The height of the crater keeps most of the elements out, particularly desert sandstorms, however the intense heat does still beat down during the day. Along the walls to the west are storage and equipment units, as well as several maintenance droids of different types. Shenner turns in a slow circle, almost smiling, this time in earnest. "Looks better than the Corellian's, that's for freggin' sure....!" Grathix looks at the thief, "So, what do you think. Think you can pilot one of these?" Grathix mummbles uder his breath, though still audible, "Cause if the damn bastard doesn't show, you're gonna have to." Shenner stares at the ship, then back at you, and then says archly, "Can't know unless I try, and I'm not sure I wanna know if you can spare a ship if I crash it. I suspect sparing you is less likely." Grathix leaves the thief behind and heads toward the Night's Rage. He stops near it and simply looks it over. Believe me, obtainig ships is not very difficult, especially when you're into manufacturing and customizing them." Shenner comes strolling over, and replies, "And obtaining vice presidents?" Grathix walks about the Night's Rage, "Take this beuty for example. Taken a better part of a year just to get her fully outfitted. Nothing out there now like her." Grathix snaps out from what might have been a daze, "Anyway, I think you've seen enough. Maybe more than you should." Grathix walks over to the green-eyed thief and slaps 'him' playfully on the back, "Come on kid. Time to head back. You'll see all you want about these fighters tomorrow."
