Log Date: 7/23/97 Log Cast: Shenneret Veery, Kuxli, Paul Nighman, Methos Log Intro: Shenner's stay on Caspar has managed to perk up a little, what with getting a chance to do something with Paul that she hasn't in a while -- play music, her on the flute, him on the guitar. That happy incident led to him buying _her_ food for once, and it's buoyed the girl's mood enough that she's set out the next day to tackle the streets of Plaxton City and see what she can manage in the way of busking, leaving Paul to his own devices. But upon the girl's return that evening.... ---------- A flute bag on both shoulders, Shenner ambles into the starport, grinning in quiet satisfaction, and aiming for the _Hawk's Wing_. Kuxli stands at the bottom of the Voidstalker's ramp, a furry paw raised to itch behind one of his pointed ears. After a moment of looking around, he sits on the bottom of the ramp, as if waiting. Kuxli looks at you for a moment. There is a soft yelp, as one hand, trying to edge a connection closer gets burned instead of the connection. Jerking back and up abruptly, Paul lets out a louder yelp has his head cracks against the hull. With a finger in his mouth and the other hand rubbing his head, the Corellian lets out a growled curse in his native tongue, kicking at a nearby landing strut. Ambling up close to where Paul is doing his work, Shen blinks in dismay, and waves to try to catch his attention. "Hey, uh, hi pal..." Kuxli's ears perk up at the yelps, then they turn in it's direction before the rest of the feline's head does. A smirk forms along his muzzle, whiskers one by one fanning out. After a moment, from his pirch on the ramp, he calls out towards the source of the yelp, "Faster if you just let the droids fix it!" Shen's head turns slightly at that call, and her brow furrows absently before she turns back to Paul and waits for any sign that he's noticed her, and that he's okay. One hand fidgets with the strap of the green suede flute sheath on her left shoulder. Maybe the man is a complete clod, and you just never noticed before, or maybe it's just bad luck. Swinging toward the voice, Paul's elbow connects withthe landing gear that he just peevishly kicked. Another yelp rings out, as the hand in his mouth goes to rub at his funny bone, a look of anguish touching his features. Shenner actively winces, and stares at the tall Corellian in evident startlement. "Paul," she says more loudly. "Hey, pal..." Kuxli's smirk turns into a grin, muzzle parting slightly to show a few of his fangs, though not viciously. He itches behind one ear again, as if considering, then slowly he stands, his tall furry frame sticking out amoungst the mostly humans. Shenner's head turns slightly again, as she catches sight of the felinoid. And abruptly, she turns towards him, and hollers, "KUX!" Methos heads in from the flightline. Methos has arrived. Methos walks in and heads for the in-system shuttle. Methos looks at you for a moment. "Yeah?" he hisses back, rubbing the elbow emphatically, as if he could somehow dissipate the pain by spreading it around or something. "Hey there," he manages in a somewhat more pleasant tone of voice, nodding at Shen in greeting. His eyes then flicker to look at the source of his distress, frowing slightly at the Horansi as he recognizes the species. Not being half as amused as the furry persona rising up, Paul's head jerks again suddenly as Shen yelps out a greeting to him. Shenner takes a few steps in Kuxli's direction, her lean young face taking on a wide grin of delight. "It _is_ you, ain't it, Kux?" Methos has left. Methos walks up the ramp of the Olumekar. The Olumekar powers up it's engines and leaves the landing area. Kuxli is standing at the bottom of the Voidstalker's ramp, turned towards the ship Shenner and Paul are at. His grin broadens at the holler, slowly starting to pad over towards the two. "Er, hey Shenner..." his ears fall back, as if somewhat embarressed. "Yeah it's me." Fromitz Board climbs down the ramp from the Voidstalker. Fromitz Board has arrived. "Well I'll be damned... hiya! You doin' okay and everything?" The redhead with the flutes grins up at the Horansi. "Didn't think I'd bump into you here!" Straightening slowly, and then moving out of the shadow of his ship, Paul stares back and forth between the two. Leaning against the ship, he slips the burnt finger back into his mouth and observes the unexpected reunion with a curious gaze. Kuxli tilts his head down, throwing an apologetic look towards the Corellian man before looking back towards Shenner. He lifts his furry shoulders up into a shrug, "Well uh, my ship landed 'ere. Used to work here couple months ago, figured I'd take a look around.." Paul_Nighman looks at you for a moment. Shenner bobs her head, turning to gesture to Paul. "I'm with him," she says sagely. "Hey, Paul -- this is Kuxli! I met him on Etti IV. Kux, this is Paul Nighman..." And as she introduces him, the girl's eyes soften, just a trifle, though there's no other obvious change in her demeanor. Kuxli's tail gives a quick swish behind him, once more his feline eyes flick towards 'Paul'. He nods slowly, "Nice to meet you, Mr.Nighman." he politly says in a growling basic. Shrugging off from his position on the the side of the ship, Paul strides toward the two, reaching forward with his right hand, before belatedly dropping the left one from his mouth with a wry and embarrassed grin. "Nice to meet you," he murmurs in a gravelly voice, his eyes curious. He flashes a look to Shen and chuckles. "Well, if you aren't quite the social butterfly ..." Shooting a small wink at the redhead at his side, Paul's mouth curls into a teasing smile. Kuxli's muzzle opens, as if to saying, before his expression is over taken by a confused one. He glances between the two, before looking at Shenner more closely. Suddenly, noticing the out stretched hand, he extends his furred paw, shaking the man's hand. Still quite confused though. Shenner blinkblinks at Kuxli, taking in his sudden peering, even as she starts to snort and reply something to the Corellian. She squints, then looks down at herself, and mutters sheepishly, "Oh...." Beginning to turn slightly pink around her cheeks, Shen looks up again and adds, "I, uh, kinda didn't tell you somethin' before, Kux..." "What?" queries Paul, staring from Shen and then back to Kuxli. Mulling over the words passed between them, he recalls the reference to Etti IV and cannot help but laugh as he shakes the Horansi's paw-like hand. "Oh ...-that- .... um, surprise?" Shenner's mouth quirks up tinily, ruefully, on one end. Kuxli's paws fall back to his side, slowly relazation dawns as he sniffs lightly of the air. "Surprise?" he inquires in a much quieter tone. "I'm, uh, I'm kind of a girl," Shen mumbles, blushing rather more visibly now. Paul cannot help but laugh a little harder as he releases the paw. "Hmmmm, just how many people are we going to have to re-introduce you to, Shen?" Paul's gaze shifts to Kuxli and he chuckles. "Well, it certainly knocked me off my feet," he jokes, casting Shen another teasing sidelong glance. Kuxli's ears fall back, but for just an instant before they perk once more. "Kind of?" he half teases. He shakes his head as if to clear it, "Talk about surprise." "Only on her good days," Paul chimes in. "Otherwise, she's still just one of the guys, right Shen?" Folding his arms, he cannot but look over at the girl with a grin of amusement on his face over her dilema. "Maybe you should send out announcements?" Turning progressively more crimson, Shen smirks at the both of you, and retorts, "Yeah, I'll broadcast it across the HoloNet..." She glances at Kuxli and finishes, "It's, uh, kind of a long story, but, um. Hi." And she smiles weakly. Kuxli blinks at Paul, then looks back towards the no longer male Shenner. "Uh, well uh..." his tail gives another swish behind him, "Jeez... sorry for the.. 'reaction'. Just a surprise." "Don't worry, you were much more discreet and savvy than I was," Paul informs the Horansi gravely. Touching a hand to Shen's shoulder, he murmurs, "Hey, don't let me keep you from catching up .... I'll just be carving the ship apart over here ... unless I manage to lop off a limb or something. You still got that first aid kit, right?" The redheaded flute player offers another lopsided smile to Kuxli, and bobs her head to Paul. "Yeah... look, Kuxli," she says, "I'm glad I ran into yah... if you're gonna be around, we ought to find out if they got a place here like the Free-Flight, hey? Right now, I gotta dunk myself in the refresher." Shenner, with that, extends the smile to both the Corellian and the Horansi, before turning to wander up the entry ramp of the vessel Paul's been working on. [End log.]
