Log Intro:
	This is the first formal meeting held on Two Moons pertaining to
the Seafarers, called by Vardeus in an attempt to drum up planning between
the Seafarer players and the human chiefs already playing on Two Moons. The
turnout was really small -- i.e., only Kerl of the Hoan g'Tay Sho showed up
-- but this log is kept for posterity. Seafarer attendees: Vardeus, Tiana,
Rizon, Kephissa, Aeolus.

You say "Hey there. :)"

Kerl says "hi"

Tiana wavers.

Vardeus fires up a log to record discussion for later, but decides we're gonna 
  be _real_ informal like unless more people show up. So, Kerl. :) We're here 
  to spark human RP on the game and stuff. What can we tell you and/or arrange 
  with you to help you do this with the Hoan g'Tay Sho? :)

Kerl says "you're turning up near Raft, right?"

Tiana says "Some of us are turning up on Dancer Beach."

Kerl says "ok"

You say "We don't have an exact location nailed down yet, but somewhere along 
  the Vastdeep Beach, yeah. And that's the thing -- we're dividing up the 
  group because we're going to severely damage our ship coming in. If I can 
  work it out with the Rafters, we'll borrow a critter they've already used in 
  RP for purposes of boat damage. Several of us, myself included, will be lost 
  overboard and we can be found by whoever's handy. ;)"

Kerl says "and i gather we're therefore the nearest human tribe"

Tiana nods, "That you are."

You say "You guys are definitely the nearest human tribe. One of the Olbar PCs 
  is making noises about having an IC excuse to be in the area... but you guys 
  are much nearer anyway. :)"
You say "We wanted to split the group to scatter us and give as many folks as 
  possible some chances at first-contact-type RP."

Kerl says "makes sense, encourages RP and reasons to find people"

Vardeus nods. :) I liked the idea of splitting us up as well _also_ to give us 
  the challenge of having to find each other. _And_ hopefully to encourage the 
  various locals of both human and elf variety into RP that either involves 
  "ah, let's help the nice stranger find his/her people" or "ACK?! there's 
  MORE of these people?!" ;)

Kerl says "before you all turn up and do a Cortez on us..."

Tiana snickers, "There aren't enough of us that will be feeling up to pulling 
  a Cortez, I don't think."

Vardeus giggles. Well, there won't be any more than what's coming in on the 
  boat, and only eight of us are PCs, so 12 are expendable. ;)
You say "Besides, we're horribly lost. Nobody back home knows where the hell 
  we are anyway. ^_^"

Kerl says "for now"
Kerl says "got any scurvy wretches?"

Tiana says "I would imagine that we're a rather ragtag, demoralized little 
  group by the time we land since our captain will be presumed dead."

You say "Several of us may in fact be suffering from scurvy, yeah."
Vardeus excludes himself from scurvy, just because it detracts from his 
  personal pool of swoonability points, and besides, he's going to get the 
  crap beaten out of him by the sea critter anyway. ;)

Kerl says "I kinda meant unsavoury shifty types"

You say "Oh yes. ;)"
Vardeus points at Rizon. ;)
You say "He's the crew weasel!"

Tiana says "And lucky you. He's with me."

You say "Aaaaanyhow... Kerl, if you're interested, the Hoan are certainly 
  welcome to either find some of the washed-up-on-shore types... -OR- y'all 
  can make contact with Tiana's group. Tiana here is my second in command and 
  she will be in charge of the survivors who are left with the ship as it is 
  run aground."
You say "I already have PCs who have requested to find me, but Kephissa and 
  Valnek and Remirric have also all volunteered to be washed-up-on-shore 
  types."

Kerl says "we would most likely meet people who pressed inland"

You say "Do you all tend to hang back from the ocean?"

Tiana imagines that our group will press inland, if nothing else to scout out 
  the area.

You say "If y'all do that, Tiana, Blue Mountain'll probably be hard to miss. 
  And if you find Blue Mountain, the Hoan should be nearby, aye?"

Vardeus peers at Kerl. Y'all haven't moved since I was last actually IC around 
  here, have you? :)

Tiana nods, "I doubt we could miss the Mountain."

Vardeus knows the Olbar folks have moved around a good bit.

Tiana says "The Hoan are still at the base of the Mountain, yes."

Kerl nods

Rizon tee hees about the Olbar moving, having been the one of the ones who 
  started that trend. muhaha.. erm, okay I'll shut up now.

Kerl grins. Should be interesting, the Hoan were on the way to a culture shock 
  from the Olbar, let alone you guys

Vardeus sees potential here for Tiana's bunch to find the Hoan, then; what do 
  you all think? Can we tell you anything, Kerl, that would better prepare 
  you? :) Or would you rather be surprised?
You say "At this time we're tentatively planning to commence RP in early 
  January... partly because I wanted time to work out any necessary planning 
  and also because of the Christmas-and-related holidays, during which I plan 
  to be gone for a week, and I'm sure others will be as well."

Kerl says "is there much to tell at this point?"

Rizon says "Other than the fact that I've got a Monkey? Prolly not. ;)"

Kephissa says "Got a Monkey, or are a Monkey? ;)"

You say "Well, that's why I'm asking; it's pretty much up to you as to what 
  you'd like to know from us... we have done a considerable amount of 
  brainstorming on our home culture, what we're likely to be bringing in with 
  us, and various personal character details."
You say "We can, if you like, give you an overall briefing of what to expect 
  OOC... and you can choose as you deem fit how to share it with the other 
  Hoan PCs... or, alternately, we can just let y'all be surprised. ;)"

Kerl nods
Kerl says "I'm happy for the surprise at the moment"

You say "Okay, sweet. How does the proposed schedule work for you? I.e., early 
  January-ish? Would you like to work out RP dates with Tiana?"

Kerl nods. I can do that

Aeolus has connected.

Vardeus grins. Sweet, then... if you're good for being generally surprised, I 
  guess the only other thing I need to know is if you have any other questions 
  you wanna ask us or what... and you're welcome to hang out as long as you 
  like while we wait to see if any others show up, or not, since I know it's 
  late for you. :)

Aeolus blinks in. "Sorry I'm late."

You say "Not a problem, Aeolus, we've only got Kerl to yak with right now 
  anyway. :)"
You say "Right now the plan on the table is for Tiana's group to be the ones 
  that make first contact with the Hoan g'Tay Sho, and Tiana and Kerl can work 
  out RP dates once we're good to go."

Aeolus nods. "Sounds good to me since I'm in that group."

Kerl nods
Kerl says "ok should be doable"
Kerl says "not sure how much I'll be on before the 6th, but..."

Tiana tickles Kerl under the chin and winks at him just to make Vardeus 
  jealous cause she's being nice. :P

Aeolus snirks.

Kerl blinks

You say "Well, like I said -- I want to make allowances for holiday schedules. 
  :) And if we're ready to go before you are, Tiana can kill time or however 
  before she reaches y'all."

Kerl says "I'm sure it'll take a bit of time to get inland"

Vardeus ahems, ers, and strives not to look jealous. ;)

Tiana fires her bow at the nearest sundial... "There, dead enough for you?" :P

Vardeus asides to Kerl, "My second in command is a fearsome harpy of a wench, 
  you know." ;)

Kerl says "dead?"
Kerl will bear that in mind

Aeolus says "Oh my God! They killed time!"

Tiana shakes her head, "Only to Vardeus."

Kerl says "That was merely time's avatar"

Aeolus says "So what exactly is the plan again? Seamonster or storm or 
  something along those lines?"

You say "Seamonster is plan A. Because since we'll have had a major hurricane 
  slam us initially, I'd like to avoid having a storm on either end of the 
  journey if possible. :)"
You say "I shall work out with the Rafters what the details of said seamonster 
  are. I am given to understand that there's some sort of kraken-beastie they 
  have referenced in RP before."

Aeolus nods. "Question 2: What are the details of our cargo? Sorry if I'm 
  repeating questions that have already been brouth up."

You say "We should let the beastie crack the keel, according to my RL mate, 
  which will make the ship pretty much unsailable, but let you guys at least 
  run it aground first. As to details of cargo..."
You say "Well, we can settle that. As everybody here but Kerl should know by 
  now, we're basically a freelance mercantile-flavored vessel. And we were 
  taking you to that new city-state to do your weapons-related trading and 
  negotiating, Aeolus; I would presume that we'd have whatever you deemed 
  appropriate to bring with on that trip. We will probably have had perishable 
  goods that we'll have had to EAT. It's possible we might have also had 
  non-perishable goods for trading, e.g., cloth or something. How much will 
  depend on the final details of the size of the ship and its hold. 
  Ultimately, I'd like to see us come ashore with little more than our 
  personal weaponry and a small scattering of personal possessions, as well. I 
  want us needing to learn how to survive based on what we can make of what we 
  find in the area -- or by allying with the locals -- rather than coming in 
  going 'ooh, ah, look at all this cool stuff we have'. Let's shoot, rather, 
  for working with the locals to develop what cool stuff we can actually 
  figure out how to reproduce. ;)"

Aeolus nods. "Sounds good to me."

Kerl says "what's the tech level going to be?"

You say "Roughly equivalent to a mix of the ancient Greeks and the ancient 
  Celts, Kerl. We have iron, but not steel."
You say "Politically, we're kind of a cross between the Greeks and the Celts. 
  :)"

Aeolus says "Hmmmm.... We prolly need to make a really detailed list as the 
  Sea Elves will have free access to anything that goes down with the ship."

You say "Aeolus here is actually a smith -- potential RP hook for teaching 
  local human folks the ways of the forge. ;)"

Aeolus flexes.
Aeolus coughs.

Tiana has to afk for a few.

Rizon says "Assuming anything was ever really loaded. *cough* *cough*"

You say "Well, if we actually run the ship aground, it won't be sunk, but it 
  WILL be unsailable. If you guys wind up having to toss stuff overboard, 
  though, we can certainly alert the Sea Elves to any interesting goodies."
You say "The entertaining challenge we should have, Kerl, I mean, AFTER we get 
  past the language barrier, will be 'well, gosh, you folks don't have <fill 
  in something cool here?>' and then 'Oh heck. How can we actually MAKE <the 
  cool thing>?'"
You say "We are also _entirely_ clueless in regards to elves. Not hint one. :)"

Kerl grins
Kerl says "well once you find out /just/ how primitive we are and therefore 
  beneath your notice... mostly... :)"

Aeolus says "Who said that? :P"

Kerl says "mind you, /we/ have spirits we can send at you :)"

Aeolus grins.

You say "Ah, and therein lies a potential fun RP conflict. Y'all will probably 
  seem primitive to us at first glance... but I see all KINDS of potential 
  here for us to draw fun conclusions about how the local elves are OBVIOUSLY 
  standing in your all's way... or, to draw horrified conclusions about how 
  the local elves are using you guys. ;)"

Rizon ponders the Olbar and their 'silly gods', I'll have to look into this.

Kerl says "true for the Hoan on both counts"

You say "And since we're going to be STUCK here, we're going to have to learn 
  to work with you guys. :) Or else find a way to rebuild a ship and flee, 
  depending on how the RP goes! ;)"

Aeolus says "Run away! Run away!"

Kephissa says "Or build a secure little enclave and steal their women. ;)"

Tiana really likes the idea of working together but, if worse comes to worse 
  we'd better gather up quickly and /try/ to head for home again.. hehe.

Aeolus ponders. "But whom amongst us is a shipwright? The plot thickens. :P"

Kephissa says "I thought we decided that the shipwright died."

Aeolus says "My point exactly."

Kerl nods

Vardeus eyes the time. Well, 8pm and ain't nobody else here. Feh. :)

Kerl still thinks we're all gonna get enslaved...

Aeolus says "We come in peace. Shoot to kill."

Vardeus compares his ragtag bunch of sailors with Winnowill, the Chosen Eight, 
  and Blue Mountain. "Dude, I think Winnie beat us to it." ;)
You say "Besides, I am a Noble, Dashing Hero. I don't enslave people! :)"

Kephissa says "Besides, that's one reason why there aren't that many of us."

Vardeus does not, however, vouch for the motives of Rizon, even if he DOES 
  have a cute little monkey.
You say "There aren't that many of us partly because I didn't want to come in 
  as a strong force, but also partly just because I didn't feel like managing 
  more than 20 characters. ;)"

Kerl nods

Rizon smiles, "You will all worship the monkey!

Kerl says "so you have your entire crew now?"

Vardeus anyway. *checks time* I have 8pm my time, I don't think anybody else 
  is going to show. Anybody else got anything they wanna talk about?

Kerl grins wickedly at Rizon "Just as long as you don't spank it"

You say "And yes, we have as many PCs as I'm going to accept. The NPCs can be 
  filled in as dramatically appropriate. :)"

Kerl nodnods

Vardeus personally pledges to throw Rizon overboard if he asks anybody to 
  'touch his monkey'. Wait. Damn. I'm the one going overboard. ;)

Aeolus says "Gonna be some starving sailors on that ship.... I hope nothing 
  untoward happens to you monkey. Like the ship's cook accidentally dropping 
  him into the stew. :P"

Kephissa says "Ewwww"

Vardeus has warned Rizon that that critter's rations are coming out of HIS 
  share. Try not to get the deck too bloody if you fight over the monkey, 
  y'all. ;)

Tiana eyes Rizon's monkey and shakes her head, "I think not."

Aeolus says "Maybe we could have some NPC's that are masons show up on land. 
  They could teach the tribes here to build stronger houses...?"

Rizon is glad he's the Cargo Master.

Tiana promises to do it for you, Vard.

Vardeus beams at Tiana. Why thank you.

Kephissa peers at Rizon. "We catch you stealing food, you're going to be dead."

You say "And we could potentially have some mason-inclined folks amongst the 
  NPCs, sure. Here's a question, guys; Tiana, do you get custody of the crew 
  NPCs? Or shall we pitch a few random ones overboard?"

Kerl points out that all of you probably have enough 'general' skills to be 
  able to teach us MILLIONS of things

Tiana thinks it would be fun for us to figure out the building better houses 
  part.. I mean, we know what our houses are built from back home.. but, 
  exactly how to do it.. well.... hmm.. let's see.. I know you stack the stone 
  blocks .. but, for the rest of it.. Uhh... Heh.. Let's try this, eh?

Kerl says "even without beig specialists like masons"

Vardeus yeps to Kerl. And grins to Tiana -- exactly!
You say "There's a world of difference between being accustomed to the things 
  in our home culture... and being able to actually MAKE them."

Rizon cackles, "How you going to know if I stole it or not? :) Only I know the 
  cargo for truely and surely. :)

You say "Heck, explaining the wheel alone is going to be entertaining."

Aeolus says "True. True. For instance. I can make the weapons... but I'll need 
  to construct a forge to do so."

Kephissa says "Oh, trust me, once we're lost the crew is going to be paying a 
  lot more attention to the food stores."

Tiana nodnods.

You say "Rizon, hate to break it to you, dude, but I'm the captain. I make a 
  business of knowing what's on my ship. :)"

Aeolus says "Just the boy, the two droids, myself, and NO QUESTIONS ASKED."

Kephissa says "And its a small ship."

Vardeus chortles.

Tiana says "Is it the fastest in the galaxy?"

Vardeus peers at himself. Am I officially young Harrison Ford now? ;)

Aeolus says "Perhaps I should have an NPC translator that can speak and 
  understand sign language.... Hmmmm... that's an idea as the language barrier 
  betwixt us and the locals is going to be a big enough bridge to build 
  without everyone trying to understand me as well...""

Kerl chokes at the thought of 'young' Harrison Ford

Vardeus is in his late twenties. That's young. ;)

Kephissa says "Well, if you don't want to be Harrison Ford you don't have to

Aeolus cackles and thinks we need a magician to tag along with us.... really 
  spook the locals into thinking we're deities or something. :P That'd be an 
  interesting plot line.

You say "Let's not make it TOO close, though. :) Our home culture has NO 
  concept of elves whatsoever."

Rizon will make them his monkey slaves! The trolls that is.

You say "I'd ballpark us at very early Iron Age. We've got iron weaponry. But 
  that might not be a hard and fast correlation, as the overall 'feel' I want 
  to shoot for here will be more like the ancient Greeks."

Kephissa thinks its a good thing Rizon only has one monkey, "It won't breed."

Vardeus gets an alarming mental picture, and decides not to go there. ;)

Vardeus is going to declare the meeting more or less officially over, unless 
  there are any other topics on anybody else's mind?

Tiana can't think of anything.

Aeolus says "What about us being sent through the birthplace?"

Kephissa probably needs to go pack.

Vardeus will send around mail to the other tribal chiefs. And go with the plan 
  as stated, and tell people that they need to get in touch with me before I 
  take off to Virginia on the 21st if there need to be any revisions to the 
  plan. Is anybody besides me going anywhere over the holidays?
You say "We don't need to go through the Birthplace, Aeolus. We're all set 
  Tribe:Seafarer and Background:Seafarer now."

Aeolus says "Not out of town"

Rizon is not.

Aeolus says "Yeah... but our ages aren't set."

Tiana is just going to her mom's on Christmas Eve but, will be back the next 
  day since it will just be myself and the dog at home.

Kephissa has the time off, but hasn't decided if she's going anywhere except 
  for a couple of days.

You say "Ah, true. I can fix that manually. *points at Natil*"

Aeolus nods.

Rizon doesn't want to age, though.

Kephissa says "Of course once we set our ages, we'll age."

Aeolus says "Immortality doesn't bode well on an empty stomach."

Vardeus is going to assume then unless folks tell him otherwise that the 
  general shoot-for-RP time remains early January. We should talk about 
  whether we want to do an RP scene involving the actual seabeastie and 
  destruction of the ship, in which case we'll want to schedule a date for all 
  of us to meet. :) After that, as we split up, it'll be fair game for whoever 
  wants to find us.
You say "All y'all crew types, we can use our Yahoo group to continue to flesh 
  out the details of our culture and characters until RP time gets here. Any 
  other questions before I call it a night? :)"

Aeolus says "None here."

Tiana shakes her head, "Nope, I'm cool with everything thus far." :)

Kephissa is fine.

Rizon has nutin.

Vardeus okays. :)

  now I'm going to call it a night, since I think I may be coming down with 
  something and I wish to retire early. :)"
