Log Date: 7/13/96 Log Cast: Lasaar, Ktai, Rayek Log Intro: Ktai has left Rayek to commune with the spirits and the Scroll of Colors, while she, in the meantime, has a few rather disturbing encounters with Rigar, Sothel, and Azeure, both physically and in sending. But at least one visitor's presence proves to be cheering.... ---------- Lasaar steps in from outside. Lasaar moves away from the huge stone structure nearby. Lasaar has arrived. Lasaar pads quietly in, then stops short upon seeing the other elf. A tall female elf in yellow silk is standing on the stairs with a bemused look on her face. Lasaar looks up at you blinkblinking. Her smile widens a bit and she inclines her head, long black hair swirling softly. ** Hello... ** Lasaar blinks her eyes slowly at the tall elf....the thought going through her mind that this might be a High One....in the Palace who knows what might happen? Lasaar sends openly ** Hello... ** The female steps slowly down the stairs and turns deeply dark eyes to you. Lasaar A small Sunfolk elf-maiden stands before you. Her form is slight and graceful, her movements careful and studied, as those of a dancer. Her eyes, when they look at you, are full of compassion and kindness, as gentle as a calm sea, and equally as blue. Hair of sunstreaked brown cascades down to a slender waist, and is caught on top of her head, and off to one side, in a gold clip of some sort. It generally tumbles down over one shoulder. Her top and underskirt is an off-white that sets off her dark skin, while the blue overskirt matches her eyes to almost perfection. They seem to made of a gauzy material of some sort, and swirl around her as she moves. A golden necklace hangs from her slender neck, from which a ball within a ball is hung that tinkles softly. This delicate looking elf seems to emanate kindness and empathy. Carrying: flute Lasaar looks back, her large blue eyes blinkblinking slowly, a look of shocked awe about her. ** Ahh... you are of the desert.... are you here to see Rayek? ** The female's send is soft and old, seeming to almost 'echo' within the Palace. Lasaar sends openly ** Rayek....is he here? ** The female nods. ** Certainly. This is his home... as it is any other elf's. ** Why does that surprise you so? She moves down and away from the stairs now, a tall and thin figure in a flowing yellow silk dress, her hair almost touching the floor. Lasaar sends openly ** I just...didn't know where he was. I...no...I didn't expect to see the Palace here... ** She nods. It is almost a distant nod, yet she looks back to you with those same deep eyes. ** He is studying the Scroll as of this moment... but when he tires of our past, he will return to the present. ** Lasaar looks at you, then finally sums up the courage to ask, ** Are...are you a High One? ** Her lips curl into a soft smile, and she sends gently, yet mingled with the Palace's inherent power, it is still not an easy send to shrug off. ** I am Ktai... ** The figure kneels and nods to you. ** And it is my honour to meet the children of this world. ** Lasaar looks awestruck and gazes at you. ** Oh...oh... I am...Lasaar. Of Sorrow's End. ** Lasaar stands there, fidgeting with the fabric of her skirt. The tall one stands again, smiling gently. ** Do you thirst? ** Lasaar nods her head. ** A...bit, yes. ** From a shadow, a small bowl of water rises and seemingly offers itself to you. Ktai has not moved. Lasaar blinks her eyes again, and looks awed. She takes the bowl and smiles tentatively. ** Th..thank you..High One. ** Ktai's dark eyes fill with a soft amusement and she shakes her head slowly. Lasaar blinks, stopping in mid-sip as you shake your head, thinking that she has done something wrong. Ktai smiles. ** Please... drink your fill. ** Lasaar goes back to drinking, eyes wandering around the room. Ktai moves to the spiral and idly runs a hand along it, seeming to be herself in another time. Lasaar finishes the water, and looks around, unsure of what to do with the bowl. ** Just set it out... ** Was she looking? Her eyes are unfocused... Ktai locksends to Rayek ** We have.... a visitor.... ** Lasaar blinks yet again and sets the bowl down, then looks around the room quietly. The bowl rises again and drifts back towards the shadow from where it came. Lasaar stares at it in fascination. Ktai turns again to look to you. ** What brings you to the Palace? ** Rayek locksends to Ktai, Rayek rouses from the reverie into which he's fallen, communing, almost shyly for the airwalker, with the power that drifts in the very air of the palace's halls. ** Eh? ** Lasaar sends openly ** Well we...Shadowdawn and I..** she says this as though you should know who Shadowdawn is ** were leaving the jungle...going to Wolfhaven...and we were walking....and found the palace...so..** ** Ktai locksends ** There is a maiden from the SunVillage here. I'm afraid she thinks I'm a High One. ** to Rayek. Ktai listens, her eyes smiling. ** Perhaps you were supposed to come. ** Lasaar sends openly ** Supposed to? ** Ktai nods, moving back towards the stairs. ** Of course. Does there not come in every elf's life the time to learn of themselves? ** Rayek locksends to Ktai, Rayek blinkblinks. ** But you... were there. At the Festival. Did she not see... ** Distractedly, he trails off. And almost reluctantly pulls himself into full alertness. Rayek comes down the stairs from above. Rayek has arrived. Rayek comes floating down the stairs from above, his slim form glittering golden. Ktai looks upward and smiles to Rayek. ** Ahh... Rayek... a visitor to the Palace. ** She indicates Lasaar. Lasaar turns as Rayek enters, staring at him for a moment, recognizing him from all she has heard back at the village. Rayek, slightly distracted of gaze, hovers nearby and inclines his head, politely enough. "Maiden... I fear I don't remember you. Were you born after I left?" Ktai locksends ** There, gentle love... you have made your appearance. Go back to them, I will remain and occupy her until she is either gone, or less awed. ** to Rayek. Lasaar nods her head slowly. ** Aye...I am but 19 turns. ** Rayek blinks, a bit, focuses more readily on the visitor, and with a bare whisper, touches his booted feet to the Palace's shimmering floor. He half-smiles. "I've... been to the Sun Village within that span, but I was less than... social, the last time. Forgive my absent memory. The Village is well? The Mother of Memory, Sun-Toucher?" Lasaar gazes at Rayek and fidgits with her necklace nervously. ** Aye, both are well... ** Ktai watches both with dark and amused eyes, a small smile playing about her lips. Lasaar glances from one to the other, unsure who to be more awed by. Rayek says quietly, "The Palace's master has departed on a journey; I guard it for her return. But it is open to all who come in peace. Search it as you will, maiden. I will tell Ekuar that you're here." Lasaar smiles tentatively. "Th-thank you...Rayek." Her voice is a mere whisper. Ktai locksends ** Careful love, that she does not grow any more nervous, lest she fall apart before her peers outside... ** A bit of a smile quirks about his brown mouth. Again he gives a formally polite nod, and rises up into the air again, leatherclad form casting off golden sparkles rather incongruous with his rough garb and the wolf's head necklace he wears. "I shall be in the Scroll room. Be welcome." Rayek makes his way up the long staircase. Rayek has left. Ktai smiles softly again and watches Rayek leave with amusement. Lasaar gazes after him in awe. Ktai locksends ** She almost resembles me when I first met you... ** to Rayek. Ktai turns back and smiles. ** Do you have shelters? ** Ktai senses in a locksend, Rayek, as he retreats, sends you back something tinged with humor as well as a flicker that might match, were he still in the room, an acute glance of his amber gaze. But it's simply a glance that ponders. And after it, a flicker of a blush, a flash of sardonic humor. ** Be careful, Ktai. We do not want my pride swelling again. ** Ktai locksends ** Oh, I don't know... has anyone told you you're absolutely gorgeous when all puffed up? ** to Rayek. Ktai looks to you with amusement in her eyes. Lasaar nods her head slowly. ** Yes, High One. ** Ktai smiles. ** Please, my name is Ktai... and I am glad you have shelter, though the Palace offers shelter for all. ** Lasaar smiles again. ** Alright...Ktai. Shadowdawn has a tent. ** Ktai smiles. ** Good... and I must admit... I am old... but I am not a High One... ** Lasaar blinks her eyes, then turns absolutely beet red, even through her dark complexion. ** Oh...I....thought.. ** Lasaar gazes up the stairs where Rayek disappeared. ** What's....what's up there, Ktai? ** Ktai smiles. ** I was once of the Blue Mountain... where the ways of the High Ones were kept. Up there? The inner rooms, the Scroll of Colours... many passageways to get lost and alone in. ** Lasaar looks back at you. ** Oh! Like Zemmil. ** Ktai blinks. ** Zemmil. I do not know Zemmil. ** Lasaar sends openly ** He's from Blue Mountain...he flies. ** She looks up the stairs. ** May I go up there. ** ** Ktai frowns slightly. ** I would wait until Rayek informs you that you can... he gets - touchy about there... ** Lasaar looks disappointed, but doesn't press the matter. She seems content to gaze at her surroundings. Ktai rises a bit from the floor, then lands. ** I must have left before he was born... ** Lasaar shrugs a bit. ** Perhaps. I do not know much about him...just that he can fly, and is from Blue Mountain. ** Ktai nods. ** It is good to know that some have escaped Her. ** ** Perhaps the Spiral might be of use... it often helps me focus before trying to walk these halls... ** Ktai senses in a locksend, Rayek sends back a slightly strangled-sounding glitter of amusement. ** Ahem. Thank you. I think. ** Ktai trails her hand over the spiral again. Ktai locksends ** You're most welcome. ** to Rayek. Lasaar peers at it. ** What is it? ** Ktai shrugs. ** I'm not sure, but meditating on it helps me. ** Lasaar gazes speculatively. Lasaar reaches out a finger to touch the Spiral. Ktai locksends ** I tire, gentle love... is there anything else you require before I retire? ** to Rayek. Ktai smiles faintly, moving away so as to allow you full access to it. Ktai senses in a locksend, Rayek replies, bemusedly, ** No. Thank you. ** A pause, and then: ** Good night... Ktai. ** Lasaar touches it, making it rock slightly. She jerks her hand back, then watches it as though scared it's going to fall over. Ktai locksends ** Good night, Rayek.... ** to Rayek. Ktai smiles. ** Please continue to look around... I must retire for now... do excuse me. ** [End log.]
