Log Date: 10/29/95
Log Intro: Just after their battle with the dreadclaw, Ktai brought Rayek
back to the Cat Elves to tend the injury he got -- while Rayek, in the
meantime, was reached via Astral Projection by Savah, from the Palace.
But, as he believed Rayek to be hallucinating during his communication
with the Mother of Memory, the warrior Lothar knocked Rayek unconscious,
and the airwalker was hauled back to Rigar's cave.

There, Rayek awakened to find himself being tended by Milar, and assured
repeatedly by Ktai that he was not bound. But Lothar, in his stern
insistence that Rayek _would_ obey his lifemate Milar or be unconscious,
roused Rayek's ire. The two of them would have fought, had Milar not
stopped them. And now, Milar has stepped out to seek Rigar, to get Rayek
tended properly....

Lothar stands stiff as a statue, watching Rayek with an expressionless mask.

Rayek's amber eyes spark in his haggard face, where he lies still, held back 
  from leaping -- or more likely, floating -- to his feet by the worried Ktai.

Telia seems relaxed as she leans against the wall, a hand on the hilt of her 
  talon whip.

Ktai looks at Lothar, anger and tears in her eyes.

Rayek glowers, keeping his eyes open, and his expression as alert as he can 
  manage. Cursed if he'll let himself display weakness in front of this 
  troll-mannered worm.

Lothar watches the intruders with disdain, the sooner they're out of here, the 
  sooner he'll have to stop smelling their stench of bird and sun.

Ktai sighs and puts her chin on her chest for a moment, then looks up. ** Can 
  we at least find a truce? **

Lothar sends openly ** It is doubtful. <<Matter-of-factly tone>> **

Telia sighs in disgust.

Ktai stands, and that action alone seems to draw much of Ktai's concentration. 
  ** Look, the more peaceful things are, the faster we can be <she falters in 
  send as she sways a bit more> gone... **
Ktai sits suddenly.

Lothar sends openly ** You should rest. **

Rayek's gaze smolders. ** I will be, ** he sends curtly, ** all too pleased to 
  relieve this place of my presence. ** As Ktai buckles, he blinks, and eyes 
  the Glider.

Ktai sends quietly, turning back to look at Lothar. ** What do you care? **
Ktai's face shows pain for a brief instant, then she steels herself and 
  assumes a more - normal appearance.

Telia eyes Ktai carefully, a flicker of concern showing on her face.

Rayek frowns, propping himself up on one hand and peering at Ktai. ** The 
  lizard. It got her. **

Ktai
Ktai is tall and thin, with black hair that reaches her waist. Her dark eyes 
  watch intently, and she smiles frequently. She wears old and faded black 
  leathers, and braids her hair in a single braid down her back. Dispite the 
  lack of colour, she does not seem monochromic. Her right sleeve is tinted a 
  ruddy colour, and seems damp. A small patch of her left leather boot is torn 
  away, and the lower part of her pants is stained a reddish brown.

Ktai shakes her head. ** I'll be all right... ** The shaking of her head makes 
  her frown slightly, and she narrows her eys as she focuses on the floor.
Ktai blinks, and looks up. Her expression is still flat, but she seems to have 
  herself under control.
Ktai sighs softly.

Telia folds her arms and stares sternly at Ktai.

Ktai stiffens, and looks back, the fire returning to her eyes.

Rayek for a brief instant looks uncertain, as he looks Ktai up and down. He 
  didn't miss the blood on her leg -- but, well, if she says she is alright, 
  he will not debate the matter. He squints at Telia, then, realizing for the 
  first time that there are two Gliders here, far from where he'd expect them 
  to be. ** You, ** he sends to Telia. ** I do not remember you arriving at 
  the Palace. **

Telia sends openly ** I arrived after the others. I don't believe you were 
  there at the time. **

Ktai frowns, and sends suddenly pained. ** Where's the Healer? **
Ktai draws a sharp breath, and pales. She moved her leg, and can fight the 
  pain no longer.

Telia turns to Lothar, "That is a very good question."

Rayek starts to ask Telia why exactly so many Gliders seem to be out of Blue 
  Mountain these days, but Ktai distracts him, and he frowns. "The lizard 
  _did_ get you," he mutters, voice slightly less gruff.

Ktai nods slowly. ** It did... **
Ktai's eyes close for a moment, and she pulls herself back together. When she 
  opens her eyes, the pain is evident.

Telia says "Perhaps we should go elsewhere to find a healer."

Ktai shakes her head. It makes her dizzy. ** I don't think I should move... **

Rigar has arrived.
Rigar enters, infuriated ** What is going on here?! **

Lothar looks at Rigar ** They were bitten. **

Telia raises an eyebrow, "We're waiting for the healer."

Ktai sits, pale. Her eyes are closed, and she is breathing slowly, as if she 
  is trying to focus herself.

Lothar looks back at everyone with a scowl ** Heal them quickly Healer. So 
  they can leave your cave and our camp. **

Rigar folds his arms across his chest and shakes his head ** No.. **

Lothar sends openly ** As you wish. It is your cave. **
Lothar turns and starts walking out.

Rigar sends openly ** They leave.. I refuse to waste my efforts on him.. **

Rayek looks up, eyes narrowing. ** I will be _all_ too happy to relieve you of 
  my presence, right now. ** He begins to float up, and he eyes Telia as he 
  does. ** You. Do you know the way back to the Palace? **

Telia glares at the catelves, ** You catelves were a lot more hospitable the 
  last time I as here. **

Rigar sends openly ** Oh we're very hospitable.. unless provoked.. **

Telia turns to Rayek, ** Yes, and it will be a quick journey on my bondbird. **
Telia turns to Rigar, ** But first, Ktai needs healing. **

Ktai opens her eyes. Her senses dulled by pain, she frowns up at Rayek, then 
  winces sharply as she tries to glide to him. She falls unceremoniously out 
  of the air, and lands with a sharp cry.

Rigar nods and moves to Ktai, kneeling next to her ** Settle.. let's see what 
  we can do.. **

Rayek growls at Rigar, ** _You_ bound _me_, trollspawn -- ** He pauses, 
  scowling, when it seems as if this mannerless healer has remembered how to 
  do his job.

Ktai locksends ** <quietly> ... tell Ekuar I kept my promise... I'll stay away 
  from you and the Palace now... <pain forces her send to stop> **

Telia nods curtly, **I'll go summon Cloudripper.**

Ktai winces and lets Rigar look at her leg.

Rigar examines the leg carefully and sighs ** Well.. even if I heal it.. you 
  won't be walking well on it for some time.. **
Rigar looks to Ktai ** I will do what I can for you.. **

Ktai nods, paling.

Telia turns to duck out of the cave.
Telia slips out of the warm cavern
Telia has left.

Rayek blinks at Ktai, and his stormy expression shifts slightly, allowing a 
  flicker of bafflement. Then, all too happy to leave, he slips out after 
  Telia.

[Rayek goes out through the tunnel that leads to the outside...]

Ktai locksends ** Promise me you'll tell him? **

You locksend ** I... yes, Glider, I will. ** to Ktai.

You leave the long pathway behind the waterfall and move to the world outside, 
  squinting slightly in the sudden light.
Bottom of the Waterfall
As you move down the steep cliff your eyes befall the most beautiful sight in 
  the jungles. A cascding waterfall of brilliance tumbles down the rock face 
  with a great force and seems to sparkle as the light touches the raging 
  waters. Lush vine covered green trees to keep this place hidden and only add 
  to it's beauty. At the base of the waterfall is a large pool of crystal 
  clear waters. As you move closer in, you see that bright multicolored 
  'fireplumes' fill the trees and seem to cry out to one another in song. Far 
  to your right you notice two 'longtails' grooming each other on a high 
  branch, seemingly lost in each other. You can't help but smile as small 
  'fish' shine just under the water's surface waiting for someone to 'fish' 
  them out, if one wished to. As your gaze moves around the area you see 
  several swinging vines, that look perfect for play or dramatic jumps, 
  perhaps if you 'grab the vine' and then 'swing' it might set your blood 
  rushing. The mood it gives you here is wonderous and joyous.. as the soft 
  mist touches your face.. in the jungles.

You locksend to Ktai, Rayek pauses curtly, then, allows, ** Ktai. If... this 
  healer cannot mend you properly, go to Mender in Sorrow's End. **

Ktai locksends ** <There is nothing to reply... oddly enough... you sense 
  nothing from Ktai...> **

Telia emerges from high above the cliff and joins you.
Telia has arrived.

Rayek has landed on a log, head hanging slightly, as he lets himself rest from 
  the effort of floating out here -- thinking himself at least, for the 
  moment, unobserved.

Telia glides down from the top of the waterfall, "We can leave as soon as he 
  has healed Ktai."

Rayek blinks, and looks up, and straightens. He gives a short nod. ** Good. **

Telia eyes Rayek carefully, ** Unfortunately I can't land Cloud in this 
  jungle, so we'll have to float up to her. **

Telia looks towards Rayek, ** The healer will soon be done, and then we can 
  leave. **

Rork has arrived.

Rayek frowns, tightly and distractedly, and nods. Then, seeing Rork, he floats 
  up, to be upright -- a less vulnerable position, that.

Rork comes out of the bushes, and waves an annoyed hello

Telia nods to Rork.

Rork looks at Telia with a smirk, "Hello.. are you gliders producing that 
  fast?"

Telia raises an eyebrow, "And what do you mean by that remark?"

Rork crosses his arms in front of his chest, "A few days ago it was only one, 
  Where did you come from?"

Rayek smirks, and glances back in the direction of Rigar's cave, an impatient 
  glint in his eyes.

Telia says "I doubt it really matters, since we will be leaving soon."

Rork raises a brow, "Oh, it does matter.. i like to know who comes and goes 
  here. Matter of safety, you see, you never know if another loonie will come 
  in our jungles and splinter some trees apart in an uncontrolled moment." He 
  makes a gesture towards Rayek.

Rayek whirls around, and sneers, ** You would rather I have shattered some of 
  your caves? >I< was trying to leave. I was stopped! **

Telia glances at Rayek before turning back to Rork, ** I only entered the 
  jungle because there were wolfriders on the savannah. **

Rork frowns at two intoleratable replies, and says, first to rayek, "You will 
  shatter nothing if you like your health the way it is now.. thanks to 
  Rigar." Then he turns to Telia, "What wolfriders?"

Telia shrugs, "We didn't get down to exchanging names, although they looked 
  pretty settled in."

Rork nods, and seems annoyed, "That must be No-holt's tribe. But tell me, why 
  did you come here? Don't you want the wolfriders to see you?"

Rayek snorts. ** Your so-called healer is a troll-spawned, ill-mannered cur, 
  and he will _not_ touch me again. Worry not -- I will be gone, _now_. 
  Glider! Where is your bird? **

Rork rolls his eyes, and gazes into the canopy as if looking for support from 
  the high ones against this impossible elf. "Then get going... but don't 
  return, you unthankful son-of-a-human"

Telia sighs, "I wanted some time alone to think. The wolfriders were to loud 
  so I went into the jungle and ran across Ktai and Rayek, and some of your 
  catelves. I thought I better lend my calming influence to the precedings."

Rork nods to telia, "Well, next time ask permission to the chief on whose 
  territory you are. Don't you gliders know how to act in an other's 
  territory?"

Rayek smirks. ** If you expect thanks for treating a 'guest' no better than a 
  troll treats his slaves, then don't _worry_, I would rather let that lizard 
  disembowel me than return here! **

Telia gestures up to where Cloudripper is circling above the top of the 
  waterfall. "I wouldn't go near her without me though, she's a little 
  tempermental since we left the Mountain."

Rayek eyes Telia, and nods, and sends curtly, ** I will await you elsewhere. **

You carefully move up the side of the cliff to the top of the waterfall.
Top of the Waterfall
You are standing at the top of a magnificent waterfall, which rushes and rages 
  to the east before dropping off into the chasm. Rainbows play in the mist 
  stirred up but the river's action.
All around you are half burnt trees and branches as they litter the small 
  area. The great trees, older than the very elves here seem beyond what 
  nature could mend. The greatest of these trees lays towards the south, 
  joining both sides for the first time. The smell of the burning trees and 
  elven flesh still lingers here, as if kept here by magic. You can see to the 
  other side of the river bank and see jungles on the other side, seeming 
  fresh and new.
A tree branch rushes past and tumbles over the waterfall.

Katra follows the riverbank down from the north.
Katra has arrived.
Katra walks in weakly, seeming frail and thin as she glances around.

Rayek floats high up into the trees, scowling, and looking for a path up to 
  the Glider bond-bird circling in the sky.

Nightshade mreows

Cloudripper is circling above the trees.

Larkus grumbles at the sight of a good large meal

Katra's mouth drops open as she watches the dark glider float into the sky and 
  just watches the great bird.

Ktai emerges from a pathway around the side of the cliff and joins you from 
  the bottom of the waterfall.
Ktai has arrived.
Ktai glides through, her face etched in pain.

Katra looks suddenly at Ktai and tilts her head slightly, seeming confused at 
  seeing so many new faces.

Rayek, if he notes the unfamiliar Cat Elf below, gives no sign of it, but 
  lights on the first secure branch he can find, to keep an eye on the bird 
  and to wait for Telia.

Katra looks off, as if sending and moves back a bit, as if unsure or confused.

Ktai looks north, then looks west. She thinks for a moment, but lands suddenly 
  on her right foot. Keeping her left foot up, she sighs and looks North.

Telia emerges from a pathway around the side of the cliff and joins you from 
  the bottom of the waterfall.
Telia has arrived.

Rigar emerges from a pathway around the side of the cliff and joins you from 
  the bottom of the waterfall.
Rigar has arrived.

Rork emerges from a pathway around the side of the cliff and joins you from 
  the bottom of the waterfall.
Rork has arrived.

Rigar smiles a bit and moves towards Katra "Sister."

Rork smiles as he sees Katra, and moves to her side protectively with so many 
  people around

Katra stands back and just stands watching the glider who seems confused(Ky).

Ktai closes her eyes, and sighs. Opening them, she nods to Telia, Rigar and 
  Rork.

Rayek spies Telia, but remains perched where he is. Then, spying Ktai, he 
  sends down to them...
You locksend, to Ktai, Telia: ** We leave now? **

Katra looks over to her brother and then to Rork and seems to ease up slightly 
  and smiles.

Telia looks up at Rayek and nods.

Ktai shakes her head. She wobbles lightly as she does so, keeping her left 
  foot off the ground. ** I can't... **

Katra nods to Rork then glances upwards into the treetops.

Telia taps her foot, "Why not?"

Rork looks up to the gliders with a badly concealed look of "Are you almost 
  gone or what?" on his face.

You sense in a locksend, Katra sends gently ** I think she's unable to do as 
  you do.. perhaps you should help her.. **

Ktai smiles sadly. ** Because I've been alone (she shivers, but maybe you 
  don't see it) for too long... I don't know what to do around others. It's 
  best I'm not... **

Katra places a hand on Rork's shoulder as she sends.

Telia sighs, ** If you say so. **

Rork turns to Katra, and returns the send

Telia starts to glide up towards Cloudripper, ** Coming, Rayek? **

Ktai sends quietly. ** Besides... Azeure wouldn't be too happy to see me 
  after... **

Rayek blinks down at Ktai, then shrugs. As she wishes, then. Shifting his 
  narrow-eyed gaze to Telia, he glides up after her. If the effort is any 
  strain on him, he doesn't show it, and he answers grimly, ** Readily. **

Ktai glides North suddenly, but you don't miss her tears.
Ktai follows the river upstream to the north.
Ktai has left.

Katra nods quietly to the send and seems to relax as the outsiders leave.

Telia gracefully swings up onto Cloudripper's back.
Telia has left.
From Cloudripper's back, Telia has arrived.

You are seated on Cloudripper's back. Her powerful muscles ripple beneath you 
  as you try not to look down.

You swing youself up onto Cloudripper's back and take a good grip on the 
  harness.

Rigar mutters quietly, under his breath as he makes sure Rayek goes.

Rayek frowns down at the bond-bird, settling gingerly. A muscle twitches in 
  his cheek as his bound ankle protests the landing. Been a while, since he's 
  done this, but he remembers Littletrill...

Telia waves mockingly at the catelves below, ** Goodbye, I can't say its been 
  fun. **

You follow the river upstream to the north.
Bend in the River(#416RJh)
The river bends nearly ninety degrees here, completely blocking your progress 
  to the north or east. It appears to be gaining speed rapidly as it rounds 
  the turn, rushing off to the south. From that direction, you hear a dull 
  roaring sound.
You notice the 'great' fire reached this point as the once beautiful trees now 
  look nothing more than black embers.
The water is clearly picking up mud from the bank, as it appears more brown 
  than at points upstream.

Rayek grins thinly. And holds himself in place by sheer stubborn will.

Ktai approaches from upstream.

Ktai glides back in, having gotten lost through her tears.

Cloudripper flies over the jungle, eager to see some her nestmates again.

[Telia's bond-bird flies her and Rayek to...]

You head down the trail to the north, relieved to be away from the terrible 
  stench.
Edge of the Jungle(#367RAJ)
You are at the transition between two strongrly different types of terrain. To 
  the north is a wide expanse of savannah. The savannahs are utterly flat and 
  treeless except the great waterhole area barely over the rise. You can see 
  the great trees surrounding it from here but it's nothing compared to what 
  you see to the south and east. As you look towards the great jungles you see 
  a massive and imposing rain forest, its tremendous trees soaring high above 
  your head. There is a faint trail leading northwest across the savannah, and 
  an opening in the trees seems to lead into the jungle to the south.

Rayek rides in silence behind the Glider, relieved that the air raised by 
  their passing cools the sweat on his brow, and that he need not worry about 
  walking... or flying....

Cloudripper screals as she sees Nightfeather below.

Telia says "Doing okay back there?"

Rayek sends lowly, ** I am... adequate. **

Ktai has arrived.
Ktai glides in and stops short. No... she can't get away from them!

Telia signals Cloudripper to land, ** Hold on, we're going down. **

Ktai lands mutely and stares at Azeure through her tears.

Rayek frowns down at the ground below, but does as Telia suggests.

Cloudripper circles and settles down next to Nightfeather.

Telia has left.
Telia has arrived.

Azeure arches a brow towards Ktai.

You vault down off of Cloudripper's back.

Telia leaps nimbly off of Cloud's back.

[As Savah was not available for RP at this time, but was assumed to
 be visibly present with Azeure, we decided to call a halt here until
 Savah was available. End log.]
