Log Date: 11/3/95 Log Intro: After a few days of rest at the Palace, the elves there at last gather together to make the trip to the Sun Village, for the Festival of Flood and Flower. Able to walk now, if awkwardly, on his ankle, Rayek is nevertheless uncharacteristically reserved as he prepares to make the trip back to his place of birth.... ---------- Rayek follows Savah into the chamber, eyes grave, reserved. Ekuar sits in his usual spot on the lowest step, a travelling cloak slung over his armless left side. Azeure looks up after a moment and smiles "Feeling better Rayek?" Ekuar grips his staff and carefully rises, beaming at Rayek and Savah. Rayek eyes Azeure somewhat warily, then considers, and answers in a low voice, "I am... adequate." Savah smiles warmly to Azeure. "We have all rested from the long journey here. Time, now, for the last part of our journey." Savah smiles to Ekuar, golden eyes warm. Azeure nods and smiles "Indeed.. I will go make Nightfeather ready." Ekuar hobbles over to Savah, his aged face wreathed in happiness. Azeure moves outside with a quiet smile to Savah Azeure steps through the doorway outside. Azeure approaches the huge stone structure. Azeure has left. Rayek walks with a slight limp, studying the Palace with narrowed eyes, as if trying to absorb.... something. Telling it to guard itself, perhaps? Or at least asking? Savah inclines her head to Ekuar, smiling gently. Ekuar gives a satisfied little sigh, tucking his staff against his side so his single arm can adjust his travelling cloak. "I'm so looking forward to this!" He looks up from his fussing, to meet Savah's gaze, his eyes large and deep with emotion. He gives a small, serene nod. Savah says "Let us journey, then." Savah steps through the doorway outside. Savah approaches the huge stone structure. Savah has left. Ekuar's frail form almost glimmers from the inside with his joy. He hobbles over close to Rayek on the way out. Rayek starts, realizing the others are leaving. Reluctantly, he trails after. [The elves exit the Palace; Ekuar brings up the rear, chuckling happily to himself.] Savah moves away from the huge stone structure nearby. Savah has left. Some distance away, Savah has arrived. You move away from the huge stone structure, stepping around the rubble that litters its immediate vicinity. Wide Pass Through World's Spine Mountains This wide pass is nearly an entire days' ride from one side to the other, from what you can tell. The sun is still hard and heavy here, but the looming presence of the mountains to either side seem to lessen the drain of the barren waste. Ekuar moves away from the huge stone structure nearby. Ekuar has arrived. Rayek steps out, squinting somehwat in the sunlight. Ekuar ooos delightedly at the sight of the huge, majestic birds. Azeure turns at the sound and smiles "Is everyone ready?" Savah smiles, gathering her robes closely around her. "We are, Azeure." Ekuar bobs his head eagerly as Savah answers. Azeure chuckles softy and offers his hand "Alright.. Nightfeather seems as eager as the rest of you.. shall we?" Rayek nods. Once. Tersely. Savah has left. From Nightfeather's back Savah has arrived. Nightfeather(#2638IJMae) Nightfeather's back is broad and strong. He is an exceptional mount for a chosen, and seems to enjoy serving as he takes flight, his strong muscles rippling beneath you in the modified saddle. As he flies you notice he prefers to fly higher than most, but not dangerously so. The view of the sky and of the ground is magnificent and breathtaking as his midnight blue feathers cut the air with the grace of and angel. Contents: Savah You climb up onto the back of the large bird Around Nightfeather Ekuar hmms thoughtfully, looking up at the bird. "Hm. Eh-- Ah-- could one of you children give me a hand?" Around Nightfeather Ekuar tucks his staff carefully against his body; he has to use his single arm to keep it there, and so has trouble reaching up for you. Around Nightfeather Azeure nods and smiles as he alights "Allow me Ekuar.." Rayek blinks, and kicks himself mentally. Before anyone else can, he says tersely to his mentor, "Here." Around Nightfeather Azeure has left. Azeure climbs up behind you onto Nightfeather's back Azeure has arrived. Rayek shoots Azeure a level yellow glare, mouth tightening, just a hint. Around Nightfeather Ekuar beams as he is lifted. "Whooo! Ah hah!" Around Nightfeather Ekuar has left. Ekuar climbs up behind you onto Nightfeather's back Ekuar has arrived. Rayek backs off, pulling back his hand, and lowering his eyes. Savah smiles, eyes glittering. You sense in a locksend, Ekuar sends, absently and happily, ** You know, Brownskin... it's always more fun when -you- do it. ** Azeure grins as he tugs Nightfeather into flight, the great bird lifting eagerly into the sky [The bird lifts off, soaring across the desert....] Rayek unaccountably blushes at Ekuar, then jerks as the bird lifts off. Ekuar leans forward into his lean young friend, wrapping his arm tightly around Rayek's waist, his voice high and excited. "Wheeee! Oh, Brownskin, look down! Look how -small- everything is, eh?" Rayek relaxes, at least a bit, as his mentor hangs onto him. He manages a ghost of a grin at Ekuar's excitement. Ekuar's head turns from side to side, his eyes huge, drinking in the exciting journey-- like a child's naivete, and yet deeper than that. [WolfFlame teleports in, to catch up...] WolfFlame climbs up behind you onto Nightfeather's back WolfFlame has arrived. Around Nightfeather Nightfeather struggles a bit with the load, but flies on as he is commanded.. [And finally, the bird enters the air above Sorrow's End....] Around Nightfeather From the dancing square, Mender ahs and smiles, nodding softly at Rillwhisper. "Wonderful." Azeure sends openly ** Where would you like me to perch Nightfeather Savah? ** Ekuar ahhhhs, tipping his head back to drink in the stunning evening sky, before looking back down to gawp at the dramatic desert. He sighs happily. Rayek pulls in a sigh, just a bit of one, at the sight of the village below -- something he's never really, truly, seen. Around Nightfeather From the dancing square, Dawn starts, looking up. Around Nightfeather From the dancing square, Rillwhisper begins to Terlis, "Eh? You mean, like the frothy stuff you all wear here...." And then she blinks, at the shadow of the bird overhead. Around Nightfeather From the dancing square, Dawnfire glances up from talking with a friend at the shape in the sky WolfFlame keeps her hands dug into the harness and refuses to look about Savah sends openly ** Hm.. The canyon, or the bridge, I should think. ** Ekuar waves, a small figure on the giant bird's back. "Hello! Hello, children! Hee hee-- look at me!" Around Nightfeather From the dancing square, Terlis tips his head back as well, but only after taking a few long moments to study Dawn's face. Around Nightfeather From the dancing square, Mender tilts his head at a distant send and sighs, standing. "If you'll excuse me all, I'm needed elsewhere." Rayek hangs on, black hair whipping in the breeze of the bird's passage. Around Nightfeather From the dancing square, Rillwhisper starts, starting upward. "Is that.... hey, is that Ekuar?" Around Nightfeather From the dancing square, Mender nods to all and quickly walks off to his house Around Nightfeather From the dancing square, Mender goes south. Around Nightfeather Nightfeather circles the village a few times, droping lower. Around Nightfeather From the dancing square, Terlis chuckles, squinting. "Sure looks like him..." Around Nightfeather From the dancing square, Dawn looks alarmed, grabbing for her bone knife. Around Nightfeather From the dancing square, Dawnfire smiles and watches the giant bird "Oh, and Rayek!" Around Nightfeather From the dancing square, Terlis nods silently and watches the bird. You fly down. Ledge of Trials The trail widens here and levels momentarily. Before you is the narrow rainbow of stone that is the Bridge of Destiny. The followers of Sun Toucher sometimes gather here, to hear his wise words..or to witness the sunrise. The seven stars of Goodtree's Rest begin to come out as the dimming red light of sunset fills the warm spring skies. The Bridge is to the North, while the path descends the side of the mountain, There is a hint of rare moisture in the air, and a sense of expectancy in the dry, dusty land. Obvious exits: Steep Path Bridge Savah smiles, looking down. Around Nightfeather Nightfeather alights easily on the bridge, squawking loudly at the biting desert air You sense Ekuar's arm tightens with a warm squeeze around your middle, then relaxes... a reassuring touch. Azeure smiles and offers his hands to Savah and Wolfie as he glides up from the harness Ekuar senses "Rayek is trembling a little, but he turns to hug you." You locksend ** I... I will carry you down. ** to Ekuar. Rayek turns, and gently, hesitantly, lifts Ekuar up. Savah accepts the help gratefully. Savah climbs off of the large bird Savah has left. Around Nightfeather Savah has arrived. Ekuar beams at Rayek. Ekuar climbs off of the large bird Ekuar climbs down from the back of the large bird You lift Ekuar into your arms, his ancient body feather-light. Ekuar looks at you for a moment. WolfFlame reaches out to Azeure still not looking around until she has her feet on the ground WolfFlame climbs off of the large bird WolfFlame has left. Around Nightfeather WolfFlame has arrived. Ekuar locksends ** There's no one I'd rather have do it. ** Rayek floats, down the Bridge's slope, to the ground below. Winding Path A gentle winding path, worn smooth by the centuries of loving occupation, meanders among the wind sculpted rock formations of the desert. Here among the guardian stones is the well that sustains the village of Sorrow's End. A sheltering tree grows here with pale leaves adorning it's wide spread branches. There is a stretch of green grass to delight the eye and the small sounds of birdsong and wind rustled leaves to sooth the spirit. The seven stars of Goodtree's Rest begin to come out as the dimming red light of sunset fills the warm spring skies. There is a hint of rare moisture in the air, and a sense of expectancy in the dry, dusty land. Rayek sets his mentor down carefully beside him, and sucks in a slow breath at the sight of the village. Ekuar steadies himself against Rayek for a moment, bringing his staff from against his body to grip it in his hand. Ekuar ahs, his smile shining, as he regards the graceful well. You say "I... suppose we should wait for the rest...." Ekuar bobs his head. "To be sure, to be sure. We can all go in together, eh?" His eyes scan Rayek's face, and he gives a gentle nod. Rayek smiles wanly. "Yes... I... can hear them, from here... they'll be going, for a while." [Savah, WolfFlame, and Azeure all come down off the Bridge of Destiny, and pass Rayek and Ekuar...] Rayek watches the others go by, and tenses, not speaking. Azeure walks toward the crossroads. Azeure has left. At the crossroads, Azeure arrives from the winding path that goes by the well. Ekuar nods affably as they pass, but makes no move to follow them. He seems quite content to stand with Rayek. Rayek stares into the heart of the village. No sign of Leetah. Yet. Well. Rayek turns to his mentor, and says, a little gruffly, "You should be out of the sun." Ekuar admires the well. "My, my. Oh, the rockshapers here, they knew how to make such lovely things! Eh?" At the crossroads, Savah hurries towards the Dancing Square. At the crossroads, WolfFlame hurries towards the Dancing Square. At the crossroads, Azeure hurries towards the Dancing Square. Ekuar blinks, and looks up, tipping his head gently. "Ah. Yes, Brownskin, you're right. My old head gets touched by the sun, and I have to wear wet leaves on it for the next whole day!" Ekuar nods agreeably. Rayek offers his arm for a support, and escorts the old elf into the village. You smile to yourself and hurry towards the Dancing Square. Dancing Square A wide paved square surrounded by brightly colored pavilions and canopied platforms. Gaily colored banners and paper lanterns hang from poles at the corners in the setting sun. Warm spring winds dip to ground level from time to time. In the warm spring evening the elves gather to rest and chat. Soft laughter is heard from a hut. There is a hint of rare moisture in the air, and a sense of expectancy in the dry, dusty land. Ekuar arrives from the crossroads, looking around to see who is here. Ekuar has arrived. Azeure nods silently Savah's eyes glitter in amusement at the preserver, and she tells those present. "Tomorrow, dear cousins, I will speak to you all." Savah enters the Hall of Memory to the northwest. Savah has left. Ekuar leans comfortably on Rayek's arm, his staff scratching lightly in the dust as he walks. Rillwhisper, still standing, just smiles a bit at Savah, but curiously, can't help looking past her at Rayek. Dawnfire smiles "Ekuar! Rayek!" Terlis chuckles as Savah runs off. "Tired and yet still as graceful as the reeds as they blow in the breezes." Azeure smiles and gives WolfFlame a warm look before settling down beside her. Ekuar beams happily at all the lovely young faces. Rayek, looking rather tense and nervous, escorts Ekuar into view. The elf who has been master of the Palace of the High Ones for several eights of years by now looks worn and haggard of face, and as the village begins to react to their arrival, he meets gazes with a reserved look. Dawn oohs, finally closing her mouth. WolfFlame nods in agreement to Azeure Rillwhisper studies the new arrivals, a little searchingly, but she offers amiably, by way of greetings, "Cousins." Terlis turns and nods to Rayek. "Rayek... welcome back to the village. And you, Ekuar. How do you fare?" Ekuar says eagerly, "Hello, children! Eh, did you see me? Up in the sky, on the-- ah-- on the great bird?" His large old eyes sparkle. WolfFlame smiles and waves to Rillwhisper, ** Heyla! ** Azeure smiles to Rillwhisper ** Rillwhisper.. it has indeed been a long while.. it is good to see you again ** Dawnfire walks over to Ekuar "We saw you! What was it like?" Rayek lets Ekuar move out a little ahead of him, and his mentor's chatter distract attention. Terlis turns and smiles at WolfFlame. "And you, WolfFlame. It's always nice to see a friend again." Rillwhisper blinks -- ah, yes. Recognizing Azeure after a moment, she nods politely to him. Ekuar lets out a satisfied little sigh. "Oh, my dear, it was like nothing else! So high... you all looked like ants!" He blinks at Terlis, and his smile gets wider, if that's at all possible. "Eh-- ah-- I'm well, my boy, and thank you. We're all well, though we longed to see the Village again, my, yes!" Dawn watches all the new arrivals wide-eyedly. Terlis chuckles heartily at Ekuar, noting the old elf's spunkiness. Rayek doesn't qutie manage a smile, as he lingers on the edge of the crwod of elves. Ekuar looks around the square, leaning heavily on his staff. "Hm. Ah, where should we set me, then, Brownskin?" Dawn looks at you for a moment. Terlis glances skyward, letting the sun warm his face for a moment and then stretches languidly, working out his taut back muscles from working all morning. Rayek coughs a bit, and says gruffly, "The canopy, if you wish to converse with everyone...." You say "Or... if you wish to rest, we can... seek a hut." Ekuar tucks his staff against his body and gives Rayek's arm a quick patpat. "I'm in no hurry, Brownskin. I'd like to stay with you for a bit, eh, if that's all right. I can talk to all these pretty children during the whole Festival!" He sighs and smiles. Rayek's voice is pitched low, and rough-edged; he sounds as if he's not really been used to talking for a while. Yatek arrives from the south boundary path. Yatek has arrived. Terlis twists and hisses slightly as his back pops. "Ah!" Yatek comes walking in, balancing trays precariously on shoulders, head, etc... Rillwhisper nudges Dawn, thoughtfully. Yatek carefully refills and restocks a couple of tables... Dawn starts, and peers at Rillwhisper. She nods. Dawnfire giggles softly and smiles at Ekuar "Can you tell us about your trip here?" Rayek nods, almost relievedly, to Ekuar, then looks around as if briefly perplexed as to where exactly to lead his old teacher. Azeure smiles softly to WolfFlame Terlis turns and smiles. "Greetings, Yatek." Dawn watches Rayek intently. Rillwhisper steps back, just letting the villagers and other visitors chatter to one another. Ekuar ohs at Dawnfire, lifting his hairless brows. "Well, it was so -fast- you see." Yatek turns his head to grin at Terlis, "Greets, Terlis," and eyes the crowd curiously. Rillwhisper inclines her head to Yatek, cordially. Ekuar beams, leaning happily against Rayek. His limpid eyes scan the youthful crowd, passing over Rillwhisper several times before coming to rest on her, curiously. Azeure nods once to all and flies up Azeure leaps into the air. Azeure has left. Overhead, Azeure soars upward from the dancing square below. Overhead, Azeure has left downwards towards Tyldak's nest, flying almost out of sight underneath the bridge. Dawn relaxes marginally as the glider leaves. Yatek grins to Rillwhisper, then stacks his trays and leans against a table, thinking. Rillwhisper smiles crookedly to Ekuar. "It's been a while, old one. Do you remember me?" Rhentagoth arrives from the crossroads, looking around to see who is here. Rhentagoth has arrived. Stormfire arrives from the crossroads, looking around to see who is here. Stormfire has arrived. WolfFlame looks up at the arrival and smiles softly, ** Heyla...Rhentagoth right? ** Dawnfire watches the Glider leave and smiles at Ekuar Terlis gets up and wanders over to pour himself a mug of water, then stop and chuckles, setting down the empty clay mug. "Perhaps I should use MY mug?" Stormfire smiles as he moves into the square ** Wolfie! ** WolfFlame looks back then grins, ** Stormie!!!! ** Ekuar hmmms, wrinkling his aged forehead. "Let me see... eh... ah... well..." He blinks, and smiles. "No, my dear. But I know that I -should-, and that's more than usual." Yatek walks over to the balance game, examining it carefully. Rayek blinks, suddenly, and stares at the gold-haired chieftess as she and Ekuar converse. WolfFlame hops up and gives Stormfire a HUGE hug Rhentagoth sends openly ** That's right. ** Stormfire giggles and hugs WolfFlame tightly to him. WolfFlame smiles and looks back to Rhentagoth, ** Have you come to enjoy the festival too? ** Rillwhisper glances at Rayek, and then says easily to Ekuar, "You shaped a fountain in my Holt, old one. Its water still flows." Yatek scowls at the game and adjusts each pole a little bit here, little bit there... Terlis pulls what appears to be almost a golden chalice, slightly dented on one side, and pours water into it. WildStorm arrives from the crossroads, looking around to see who is here. WildStorm has arrived. Dawn oohs, turning at once to look at Ekuar. ** _You_ made our fountain? ** WildStorm moves into the area after her mate and looking around and grins WIDE when she sees her sister! Ekuar's face comes alight! "Ah! Yes yes, you're the pretty wolf-Chieftess, that's who you are! The fountain, eh me." He bobs his head to Dawn. "I did, indeed. I hope it's served you all well, child." WolfFlame grins and slips out of Stormfire's arms to hurry and give her sister a HUGE hug too =) Rayek glances off in the direction of Savah's hut, and steps towards it, briefly. But as Ekuar is continuing to chatter, he lingers, hollowed features unsure. Rhentagoth sends openly ** Not exactly, I came back at Savah's suggestion hoping that a visitor might show up at the Festival that might know the whereabouts of Arial. ** Stormfire grins and lets Wolfie go with a giggle WolfFlame looks back to Rhentagoth and thinks a moment, ** I'm afraid I do not know an Arial ** Rillwhisper laughs! And blushes, just a bit, at Ekuar. "Um. Well, yes, it's served my tribe well. We've never lacked for clean water since then." Terlis downs his glass of water quickly and glances up at the sky. "Hmmmm... wasting time... SHOULD be working..." Ekuar moves happily toward Savah's hut... absent-minded he may be, but his concern for Brownskin never wavers. "My dears, I'm so happy to see all of you! We'll have to talk more. Eh? Yes, yes." Dawn jumps up and _hugs_ Ekuar. WildStorm hugs her sister tightly and cries with joy, "Wolfie how I've missed you!" Dawn sends openly ** I love the fountain! ** Ekuar oohs! And slips his arm around Dawn's back, gladly. Rayek smiles, weakly, to see Ekuar so well-received. WolfFlame giggles and hugs her sister back, ** I've missed you too! ** Rhentagoth sends openly ** She was calling herself Sorrow at the time I believe, and was with Talek. ** Rillwhisper grins at Dawn and the ancient rockshaper, but her gaze flicks past them to Rhentagoth. Stormfire grins "Oh you wouldn't believe how we've missed you Wolfie." Yatek smiles at the balancing game, then walks over to a table on the other side of the square... Ekuar patpats Dawn's back. "I'm so glad, my dear, so glad." Stormfire smiles and moves to hug the two sisters. WildStorm giggles and ruffles her sisters hair then glances at Rhentagoth. Brightfire arrives from the crossroads, looking around to see who is here. Brightfire has arrived. Dawnfire goes north. Dawnfire has left. Dawn beams at Ekuar, and whispers to him. Brightfire comes in, Tinyhowl on her hip, watching to see what's going on. WolfFlame giggles and hugs her sister and her mate, ** I've missed you both ever so! You just HAVE to go see the palace though! It's Wonderous! ** Stormfire giggles and nods "I want to go.." WildStorm smiles brightly and nods, "yes.. I wanted to go.. but whitestar was sick" Terlis tucks his cub away and digs out a small silver flute. He wanders over to a pillar at the edge of the square and begins playing a soft, light tune. Ekuar nods to Dawn, smiling benignly. Dawn oohs at Brightfire and Tinyhowl, waving them over! Ekuar leans and whispers back to her. WildStorm hugs her sister, as if afraid to let her go. Stormfire giggles "Speaking of.. where'd he get to?" Rayek, at the mention of the Palace, might almost be seen to smile again. But not quite. Stormfire looks around almost expecting trouble Dawn smiles happily to Ekuar. Yatek sets up a small red canopy above the table, and brings over a few stone stools Brightfire smiles at Dawn, heading her way; Tinyhowl struggles off her mother's hip and begins to rush around, squealing with delight. Rillwhisper grins at Brightfire and Tinyhowl, and waves them both over. Ekuar ahhhs with deep joy at the rush of life in the square. He clutches Rayek's arm, nudging him gently toward Savah's hut. Brightfire looks at you for a moment. Yatek digs in his bag and produces various instruments for... gambling. Dawn gives Brightfire a hug, and watches Tinyhowl fondly. ** Dusk should be around, too. ** Rayek gratefully allows himself to be nudged, ducking his gaze away from the crowd in the square. WildStorm brushes her hair from her face as she watches Rhentagoth before whispering to her sister. You step into the cool interior of Savah's house. Hall of Memory A circular room containing a low bench. The high domed ceiling soars up into restful shadows. Framed by a circle of painstakingly worked stained glass is a chair, lovingly shaped from silky smooth stone. The floor is painted pale blue and inlaid with tiles of russet and opal in a circular pattern. From the high ceiling are suspended fringed tapestries on either side of Savah's chair, with a multitude of pale pastel square panels patterned with floral designs. A carpet of scarlet fabric with a gold border lies at one edge of the room beneath Savah's chair. A soothing, many-colored light emanates from the colored glass panes of Savah's chair, a visible sign of her magic. Savah tells Rayek and Ekuar gently. "Come." Savah steps into Savah's room. Savah has left. You enter the quiet chamber. Savah's Chamber A small cozy chamber with a window covered with beaded curtains and a low ledge circling the entire room to serve as seating and table space. In the center of the room, a circular bed set below the floor level makes a comfortable place to sit as well, soft mattress and plentiful pillows an enticing and restful sight. The colors are soft dreamy golds and all the shades of green growing things. On the ledge is a model of the fabled palace, made for Savah by Ekuar the stoneshaper and a vase full of pale blue windflowers . Contents: Savah Tiny cat Obvious exits: Hall Ekuar enters from the hall. Ekuar has arrived. Rayek, shaken, follows Ekuar into the room. Ekuar beams with foggy memory at the little Palace. Ekuar pats the tense brown arm he leans on, soothingly. Rayek murmurs huskily, "Thank you... Savah... for the shelter..." Savah looks from the little Palace to Ekuar, and smiles. Then she touches Rayek's shoulder gently. "Rest now, dear one. It has been a hard journey." Rayek's eyes lighten a bit at the sight of the little Palace. Limping somewhat on his bandaged ankle, he settles down carefully. Savah touches the little Palace gently. "Being close to the little Palace, I sense the larger. You will not be as far from it as you thought, my dear." You say "I.... thank you." Rayek's voice is hoarse. Ekuar fusses over Rayek, making sure he's comfortable. He chuckles. "Oh, yes, indeed. No one better to look after the pretty little thing than my Brownskin." Rayek smiles, but doesn't quite look like he believes in the expresion, as he lies back someplace soft and lets Ekuar fuss over him a little. Savah watches Rayek with some concern, then touches Ekuars shoulder gently, as well. "Ahdri and I will be close." Ekuar bobs his head gratefully. "Thank you, lovely Savah." His eyes shine with a deeper thanks, more meaningful than simple thanks for shelter. Rayek, more tired than he'd like to admit, leans back in the sleeping pit. Silks, and soft bedfurs, here. It has been some time since he's felt such softness. Savah smiles, and withdraws quietly. Ekuar moves easily, if a bit slowly, around the chamber, fluffing furs and tucking them around and under his pupil. His staff is noiseless on the floor. Savah leaves the room. Savah has left. Ekuar plumps up a fine little silken pillow, nudging it comfortably under Rayek's wounded leg. Rayek finally says fretfully, "Ekuar...I-I am fine..." Ekuar hums blithely to himself, enjoying the domestic surroundings. He ohs, and blinks, and smiles. "I know, dear one, I know." He gives a one-sided shrug. "But maybe I needed to take care of you for a bit, make a little fuss, eh? I want you to be comfortable." His voice is gentle, and kind... but it's clear he's not only talking about the comfort to be found in silken pillows. Rayek protests, or starts to, that he doesn't need such fussing. But the words don't quite come out. Ekuar continues to tuck furs here, and smoothe silks there, propping delightful little pillows everywhere they might conceivably be needed. His humming is light, almost a musical chuckle. Ekuar settles at the edge of the sleeping pit, with Rayek swathed in comfort from head to toe. He sighs with satisfaction, and nods. "There, now."
