This is the third time for Rianet, the second for the other three... and 'Lani's had quite the time trying to handle their risings. Finally, however, they're over. But the state they've left her in hasn't gone unnoticed by those who seem quite fond of Mehlani, and never mind that this includes young men aside from the two who have claimed they love her. Such as, for example, Gannon... ---------- Gannon wakes up from a light doze at his usual reading-spot, near the back of the chamber. The light tread of Mehlani sounds near the entryway, just a bit of a scuff of her bootsoles against the stone. More obvious a noise is the soft trill of the brown fire lizard on her shoulder; Munki has his tail curled around her neck, and is half-dangling down the side of her arm, peering about with alertly whirling eyes. Gannon blinks awake at the trill, looking around in sleepy disorientation. Apparently Mehlani thinks the room is unoccupied, for her face reflects a kind of relief as she reaches the quiet dimness and relative warmth of the place. She moves towards the hearth, her features relaxing as she lifts her hands to the little fire, and she can be heard to softly echo Munki's trill back at him. Gannon pauses when he notices Mehlani, not wanting to startle or disturb her. He sits, quietly, watching her for a few moments. Munki lifts blue-hued eyes to his mistress, and issues forth a tuneful little chatterchirple. Mehlani, smiling more with her eyes than her mouth, turns her head slightly to her little pet and lifts up a hand to scritch his eyeridges, whistling back at him, in low clear tones. Gannon smiles, just a little. Quietly, he stands, preparing to leave; his chair scrapes across the floor as he pushes it in. Wha...? Blinking, Mehlani turns her head round again, and on her shoulder, Munki flutters in startlement. "Hello....?" Gannon flinches, caught in the act. "Oh...h'lo, Mehlani...I, uhh...I didn't want to bother you, so I was just..." He gestures sheepishly towards the exit. "Oh.... it's alright, Gannon," Mehlani earnestly replies. "I just wanted to come in from the cold, you aren't a bother...!" Gannon nods. "It *is* chilly out there, isn't it?" He turns, tilting his head. "You...uhm...you look a lot better." "It's winter," says 'Lani, almost wry. Then, she pinkens a little, and dips her head as Munki nudges at her cheek with his brown snout. "I slept a lot today." Gannon nods, relief overcoming his awkwardness for the moment. "Good. You really looked like you needed it...I was worried you'd get yourself sick or something..." Mehlani blinkblinks, looking up again, her behatted head tilting slightly. Perhaps confused by the seemingly fervent concern, she considers, and then offers in an attempt at assurance, "It... was just four proddy fire lizards. I got through it alright the first time, too..." Still a bit pink, she smiles awkwardly. "It happens to my father all the time." Munki, in the meantime, starts getting restless on her shoulder, his wings fluttering again. Gannon's lips quirk up. "Looks like he's made a full recovery, as well." Dargon has arrived. Dargon looks at you for a moment. Dargon His hide a light coca brown, this brown 'lizard peers about from underneath the confines of Spyte's orange hair. His hide is covered by a light dusting of gold all over him and his golden-brown neckridges and talons shine bright. He is strong and swift, and is the hearthrob of many a green. Dargon is 0 Turns, 7 months, and 25 days old and is 42 centimeters in length with a wingspan of 70 cm. He is 0 Turns, 7 months, and 25 days old. Dargon realizes he is being looked at and scoots under a table, scared he'll be yelled at... Gannon blinks at the little brown 'lizard. "H'lo, little fella..." Well, Mehlani's glance does lift to the brown she doesn't really know as Dargon flits into the room, but she hardly seems inclined to shout. Munki chatterchitters at the other brown though, from his perch on Mehlani's shoulder, and the little fellow scampers around to dangle upsidedown to see if that'll get him a better look. Dargon tilts his little wedge shaped head. He cheeples to Gannon, curiously. He giggles a little warble at the brown on Mehlani and flutters from underneath his hideout. Dargon looks at you for a moment. Gannon lapses into a comfortable silence, watching the brown's antics bemusedly. Dargon cheeples to the other brown. He swoops over towards Mehlani, chittering conversationally. Mehlani turns and peers up at the other brown, while reaching to steady her own to make sure Munki doesn't inadvertantly tumble off her shoulder. "Hello there," she addresses Dargon gravely. Dargon tilts his head at the woman's graveness and stits back in the air. He figures he is in trouble and flutters over to a table where he coils his tail and sits back on it like a tail. He scritches a little at Spyte's name painted on his neck, but finally convinced it -isn't- coming off he sighs and bounces a bit on his tail. Mehlani blinks, bemused. To Gannon, she asks, "Do you think he wants something...?" Gannon hrms. "Well, food, maybe...never met a lizard that didn't want food or petting..." Spyte strides in from the bowl. Spyte has arrived. Spyte walks in, glaring a bit. "DARGON!" She says loudly when she sees the little flit. Dargon eeks and hides under the table. Spyte squints her eyes. She bounces in and looks under the tables as the little brown flit moves from one to another. She sighs and stomps impatiently. Mehlani, lingering near the hearth with her brown Munki on her shoulder, blinks at Spyte's arrival, and then at the actions of her brown. Munki lets out a loud string of chatters, fluttering at the sudden noise, and all the bemused Mehlani can think of it say is, "Um.... hello..." Gannon nods a greeting to the new arrival. "G'even," he murmurs. Spyte looks over and then drops the whole angry facade, turning into a perfect sweetheart at the sight of people. She puts on a fake sweet face and smiles. "Hello!" She says sweetly, blinking innocently, but her eyes follow the little brown's course under the table. Spyte This woman is small and dainty.... or so it seems. Her long, flowing, bright orange hair frame a pale, freckled face with glowing green eyes. She is short, and spunky, and loves animals. Her clothes are of simple design, just a linen tunic and pants, cream in coloration. They are tucked into high, wherhide boots, making her pant legs flare. Her curly hair is tied back in a black and white ribbon, but a few locks always seem to fall down. She is 18 Turns, 10 months, and 16 days old. Mehlani's brow crinkles under her hat brim, and she bobs her head politely at the other girl. Her blue gaze shifts from Spyte to the brown and back again, and after a moment she asks hesitantly, "Is... everything alright...?" Spyte frowns and drops the facade again. "No." She almost whines."Everything is -not- alright. -HE-" she points to the little brown, "Not only took my -last- cookie, but also hid one of every pair of my socks so that I have -no- matching pairs!" She pulls up her slacks to show her wearing a yellow and a black sock. Gannon blinks in surprise. "Err. Well...for what it's worth...I didn't notice," he ventures. Spyte sighs pitifully. She blushes a bit at the man, and glares at the flit. Gannon says "Maybe we could help you look?" Spyte blinks. She smiles a little. "Could you?" Dargon zips out of the records cavern. Dargon has left. Gannon glances at Melahni and flushes. "Uhm...I mean, I don't want to speak for you..." Spyte's tone, apparently, does not go over well with brown Munki. The fire lizard on Mehlani's shoulder skitters around behind the behatted girls neck, and his eyes turn slightly yellow. "I," Mehlani begins.... Mehlani then blinks, and blurts all at once, her attention shifting outside, "Please excuse me.... perhaps I can help you look later....? Please excuse me.... Oh dear, Arki...." And with that, 'Lani bursts outside into the wintry cold. [End log.]
