Log file from Skywise. 8/21/00 9:25:42 AM Synopsis: Skywise and Woodhawk have a pleasant chat on the hill. Players: Skywise (logger) and Woodhawk. And a whole buncha stars. Hill The land of the Abode surrounds you. Standing atop the slope, you have an incredible view of the SilverRun river, to the west of the holt and to the Northeast you see the huge branches of the immense father tree in the distance, reaching upward to the sky.. The land here rises softly in a gentle slope, then drops off steeply to the river bank which hems in the western side of the holt. The land around you is covered over with brown and drying grass, dotted here and there with colorful stray leaves from the neighboring trees. It is a cool autumn night, perfect for a hunt or perhaps a howl. Skywise is at his usual spot, up on the hill with his back to the clearing. As usual, his eyes are fixed on the stars and the characteristic curve of his lips is up, as he gazes at his beloveds way up. Woodhawk walks up the hill. His pace isn't fast or slow. It's almost a casual walk. He slows a little seeing Skywise and walks in his directin. ** Good eve ** "Heyla." Skywise tears his gaze from the black-blue canvas, dotted with stars, to look over his shoulder. He offers a half-grin in welcome. "Out to hunt?" he asks. Woodhawk thinks for a moment. "Haven't decided really. But it's a nice clear night. I wanted to be outside." He says with a smile. He turns toward the sky. "Watching the stars?" Skywise chuckles and nods, leaning back on his elbows. "Aye, it's a good night to watch stars. This time of season, they seem to shine brighter." When everything else is taking on a brown, red and yellow color around him, the stars seem brighter. Woodhawk nods and sits on the hill next to you, He keeps his gaze up "So, what do you see?" "Patterns. Tales. Adventure... " Skywise tilts his chin back, to allow the stars to reflect in his eyes. "Big wolf chasing branch-horn." he murmurs, pointing out a certain pattern. Woodhawk follows the pattern. He smiles a little "You seem to have quite a talent for finding these patterns." Skywise smiles too. "Because I look." he says, simply. To him the stars are more than just dots on the sky, as everyone in the Holt should know. Woodhawk hmms and nods "i know." HHe scratches a little near his ear. "I still admire it no less." he squints his eyes. I can't see them the way you do." Skywise tilts his head, then nods slowly. He's heard that before. "You can if you look. Like there." He points and follows a line. "The path to Sorrows End." Woodhawk looks cloesly. He concentrates for a moment "Hmm" Skywise grins and points the other way. "There. A bowl." Easier pattern, perhaps. Woodhawk ahhs after a moment, making out the pattern "i see." Skywise nods and motiones a little to the left. "Mother bowl, much bigger see?" Woodhawk nods. He looks between the two slowly "Very interesting. He says a little quietly. Skywise turns his head and glances at his stargazing companion, grinning cheekily. "Getting settled here in the Holt, with Rillwhisper and Trollkiller?" he asks, changing subject. Woodhawk nods with a smile, not minding ths subject change. "Yes. Were learning the area, finding our places within the tribe. The others have been very helpful to us, they almost make it too easy" He chuckles a little "Just as it should be, your home." Skywise says, pleased that things are falling in place for you all. He sits up and dusts his hands off. "Wayfound seem to settle in nicely, too." he says, smiling widely at the mention of the very special not-a-cub-anymore. Woodhawk nods and sits up too. He smiles, though a touch of father's pride brushes across his lips. "From what I can tell, everyone from Willowholt who are here are getting along nicely with thier new homes. Feeling welcome." Skywise nods too, resting his elbows up on his raised knees. "That is very good." After all that has happened to Willowholters, its time they had some rest and the sensation of home. Woodhawk nods "Rill is happy its all working out so well." He picks up a blade of gras and twirls it in his fingers. "Its good to see everyone feeling at home. The peace is always nice too" Skywise tilts his head a little. "I hope Rillwhisper is happy here. We all still think of her as a Chieftess, although Cutter is ours." Woodhawk nchuckles a little again "She worries like a chieftess sometimes. but i think it's in her nature to. It's become part of who she is." As he sometimes see her as chieftess, he mostly still see her as his lifemate above all else. Skywise grins and nods. He can see how that happens, that she worries. "Cutter wouldn't be Cutter unless he worried his little head off." he comments, with humor.
