Windkin glances to his chief and shakes his head slightly. How much will it take to convince those who have only seen Winnowill's 'generosity' that she has indeed done evil things? Not much, really, since Anbiuren is completely aware of the price he had to pay to free MoonBright of the Mountain. And he remembers quite well the condition Winnowill had put her in. He shares this suddenly, to indicate he's not so blind after all. ** <> ** Cutter winces, knowing full well the extent of Winnowill's cruelties and that is one thing he certainly wouldn't put past her. He nods, **Yes, she's done little to gain our trust and no matter how nice she /pretends/ to be. I can't forget the snake that hides beneath the surface.** His send is rife with his distrust of the Lord of Blue Mountain as he lowers his hand back to Rainrunner's head and begins to scratch behind the wolf's ears again. Windkin is quiet a moment before, ** What if you just didn't go back? If you don't wish to be there, just fly free. You could go where she couldn't find you... ** He knows some places too. Anbiuren flares up, like a spark set to tinder. ** I can't! She wouldn't trade for anything less than my Name! She'll find a way to punish me... ** the elf looks positively miserable. ** I just want to be SpinDrift again. ** Cutter glances toward Windkin and then back to Anbiuren, "She knows the name of at least one of us here but, we can still keep her out of the holt," he speaks sounding somewhat weary. Perhaps it's just weariness of dealing with the Black Snake's treachery.. maybe it's something else though. Windkin floats over to place a hand on Anbiuren's shoulder, "She knows more than that...but that doesn't mean we're her slaves." Another reason why he won't go back to the Mountain. She has his soulname...like mother like son. Anbiuren chews on his lip. ** I do not wish to be her slave. I would much rather... ** he leaves the sentance unfinished with a shake of his head, long hair falling to shade his eyes even more in the darkness. ** I could try to keep you informed of her intentions, perhaps...Though she doesn't trust me, she thinks my Name makes me submit. ** Lo...is this /fire/ in the youngster? Cutter's brows shoot straight up into his hairline as he leans forward to fix a cautious gaze upon the younger elf. "Why would you do this?" he asks finally before casting a quick glance in Windkin's direction. You locksend ** Do you think this is one of Winnowill's plots? ** to Windkin. Windkin returns the look to Cutter. An informant in the Mountain? Wouldn't she get suspicious if he left so often? Windkin locksends ** It could be as he claimed he didn't know there was a Holt here but landed...but he did send just now. ** Anbiuren seems to understand the suspicion. ** There are half-bloods in the Mountain who hunt for the tables...I think the one in charge is Lhyree. ** he states, blissfully unaware of relationships. Windkin frowns, ** They must do more than just hunt. That's what the Chosen are for as well, yes? ** He was asked to join that group, but he wouldn't ally himself with the Snake. Cutter frowns at the mention of his grand-daughter turned Mountain elf but, he keeps relations out of it thinking it best not to show his disappointment just now, "I know of the hunters. What about them?" he asks, starting to sound a little suspicious now. Windkin doesn't know much, "They're a new group in the Mountain...mostly half- Gliders who hunt and, I don't know, protect the Mountain." He looks to Anbiuren, wondering if he knows more. Anbiuren chuckles a little sharply. ** The Chosen are too important to waste their time on hunting. That's what the Hunters are for. I could leave the Mountain almost daily and not be questioned as long as I brought game back with me. ** Cutter nods and looks to Windkin thoughtfully before glancing back at Anbiuren. It's a long moment before he finally nods and replies, "I wouldn't mind knowing what that Snake is up to.." Windkin looks sharply to Cutter...but he's the chief. "It might be nice to know...if you could find out such a thing without getting hurt by trying." Anbiuren shrugs. ** I have known nothing but hurt in my life. I have so little to lose. ** the elf says quietly. He wishes that weren't the truth, but it is. He has done some good in freeing MoonBright from the Mountain with himself, perhaps more can be accomplished by staying there. Long distance to Malandor: Cutter nods, "Yeah.. it's what I was going to do when I graduated high school.. learn the sound and mixing boards.. how to do the lighting.. etc.. now I can learn it while working.. we did discuss that last night." Cutter lets out a long sigh as he nods. His hand leaves of scratching Rainrunner's head again and hesitantly reaches to clap Anbiuren on the shoulder. "If you can bring us information without endangering yourself.. we would be grateful." His words are rife with the emotions that he's trying valiently to hide, hence the reason for speech instead of send. He doesn't want either of you to know the innner struggle he deals with in showing this small modicum of trust. Anbiuren nods, his expression remarkably bland, for the fact that he's just agreed to spy on his liege lord. ** I will do all that I can. ** he sends, openly honest about it. Windkin locksends ** Are you sure this is wise? ** You locksend ** No.. I'm not. ** to Windkin. Windkin glances to Cutter but then back to Anbiuren, "Remember...you don't have to go back..." He looks back to his chief and seems slightly surprised at something...but then nods. Cutter nods his head, **If you come back leading the Chosen against Lost Holt.. ** he lets the warning dangle there but, the intent behind it is readily understood.. and it's definately no threat. Simply a promise to the half-Glider.
