Log Date: 3/10-3/11/96 Log Intro: Several days have passed since the Recognition of Ynderra and Kai -- and rumors have begun to fly about Lostholt about the incident. Hysterical over the prospect of having a cub, and almost as hysterical over the knowledge that Kai now knows her soulname, Ynderra has avoided facing the inevitable, and continues to do so, even as she stumbles blearily out of the Father Tree in search of water.... ---------- You walk back out of the Father Tree. Base of the Lost Holt Father Tree(#765RJ) Contents: Mirrormoons(#5438Qae) Calmwind(#7032Jopq) Obvious exits: Into the Tree Around the Tree Clearing Strongbow walks out of the Father Tree. Strongbow has arrived. Ynderra hugs Mirrormoons shakily. Oblivious to anyone else entering the clearing, she mumbles at the wolf, "River.... c'mon..." Mirrormoons whines softly to his elf-friend, and tries to lick her face. Strongbow slips down out of the tree and lands with a soft *thump*, bow over shoulder. He blinks a bit at the murmured words from elf to wolf, and watches, going quiet. Kai walks out of the Father Tree. Kai has arrived. Kai walks away from the tree, back into the clearing that marks the entrance to the Lost Holt. Kai has left. Ynderra turns to stumble southward, biting her lip. Her wolf, though, glances at the arrived archer, and yrfs, very softly, while Ynderra starts to totter off. The archer's brow furrows at the wolf and, perhaps, at the drift-by of the young visitor to the Holt. Taking the yrf as a request, he sends softly, ** Shaper. ** His gaze lifts from wolf to elf-maiden, measuredly calm. Ynderra then, as she catches sight of a figure slipping off through the trees, utters a low moan, pressing both hands to her mouth. And at Strongbow's sending, she shrieks, startled, whirling around so quickly that she falls over. Strongbow steps forward, avoiding tripping over the wolf. ** Ynderra. ** Mirrormoons whines, again, and nuzzles at the maiden, while Ynderra looks wide-eyedly up at the elder. Ynderra blinks rapidly several times, seeming as if about to burst into tears. Strongbow pauses, and after a moment's thought, decides on offering one hand down to the healer, one brow arching slightly. Ynderra explains abashedly, "I-I-I was... going to swim..." She grips the offered hand feebly. Strongbow leans back, taking a step to help the shaper to her feet. He nods once as he does so. ** Startled, ** he observes. Ynderra sways visibly once hauled upright, looking around fearfully, as if expecting something to leap out of the trees at her. "I-I-I-I..." Strongbow blinks. ** What? ** Ynderra blushes crimson, and starts to sob. Mirrormoons thrusts his muzzle at his elf-friend, attempting to provide comfort. Strongbow blinks some more and, at a loss, encircles the healer in his arms. Awkwardly, he pats her shoulder, mind racing. Ynderra mumbles incoherently, "Told Myr'm not ready yet..." The archer's eyes darken. ** Not ready. ** He steps half a pace back, hands upon Ynderra's shoulders, eyes silently questioning, waiting for her to look up. Ynderra slumps against the tall elder, sniffling into green leather; when he props her up, she blinks miserably, and wails, "I don't FEEL good..." Strongbow exhales. So, he thinks, that's what. The archer is quiet for a moment, watching the maiden, considering the complaint. Finally, he states, ** I can imagine. ** Ynderra wilts. He knows? Blushing again, she sniffles hugely and mumbles, "Bath. Smell funny..." Strongbow states, without making any effort to catch a scent, ** Sickness doesn't wash. ** Gaze stern and steady, he waits for the next excuse. Ynderra reaches up a hand to scrub it awkwardly across her drawn features, sniffling once more, then gives a weak push to the hands on her shoulders. Her gaze drops. Strongbow's grasp loosens and, after a moment, the archer stands back, giving the maiden some space. He crosses his arms and stands, stance broad, continuing to wait. Still blushing scarlet, still sniffling, Ynderra turns unsteadily to her wolf, and slings a leg over his back. Strongbow's eyes narrow, gaze flicking briefly riverward before settling once again on Ynderra. He shakes his head slightly, to himself. Mirrormoons(#5438Qae) You're seated on Mirrormoons's lean, narrow back, and you can feel him shifting beneath you as he moves. You slip up on Mirrormoons's back. Ynderra makes it all the way onto her wolf, goes nearly cross-eyed as the world whirls around her, and mumbles petulantly, "Not ready yet. I-I-I'm not ready. Don't wanna cub...." Around Mirrormoons, Mirrormoons yarfles as he tries to hold steady enough for his elf to seat herself and keep an eye on her at the same time. Around Mirrormoons, Strongbow exhales again, more tightly. He almost sends, and cuts it off. As much to the wolf as to the rider, he murmurs, ** It's the Way. ** Ynderra nudges Mirrormoons with a knee, then, perhaps having abruptly changed her mind, nudges him in another direction. If she notices the archer's send, she gives no sign of it, as the wolf lopes off. You locksend ** ** to Kai. [Ynderra totters, dizzyheadedly, to the river that runs to the west of the Holt. Still vaguely considering going for a swim, she does so... but in her weakened state, is unable to keep herself from fainting at the poolside, and falling in. Unable to pull her out, her frantic wolf runs off for help....] From the bank, Mirrormoons travels east into the woods. From the bank, Mirrormoons has left.
