Rykos comes through the hanger, seemingly more sane than he has been in weeks, until he hears Tela is still in the Ranges with her comm off. He decides to fly out against medical and meteorological orders to rescue her. Edwin, Trainer for 2011, is gathering the recruits in the Hangar to help unload, continually taking nervous glances at the radar, for he has not yet sung so long as to not care for friends and coworkers. Messages from the sleds in the Ranges are already beginning to break up and speak of inclement weather and difficult flying conditions... * * * * A message from sled "Duncan's Hex" is heard over the hangar floor speaker: Duncan says, "Yeah keep those doors open...make it butreal close." Corbin nods to Rykos and manipulates the machinery to unload the sled from the racks. Rykos's sled has arrived. Edwin looks up, and winces. Setsuna shakes her head. Rykos moves quickly towards his sled, "Won't be long." Rykos steps into the airsled "Alisyn's Memory." Rykos has left. From sled 'Alisyn's Memory', Rykos has arrived. Rykos's sled has left. Setsuna thbffts. Edwin watches the radar carefully, his face growing more grave. A message from sled "Duncan's Hex" is heard over the hangar floor speaker: Duncan says, "Fighting it****hard to****can't get the altitu***" Setsuna says "Not good?" Edwin looks up at Duncan's comm message. Edwin looks at the recruits. "All right. You will be pressed into duty, I can guarantee it." Cori blinks in the direction of the speaker, eyes narrowing before widening as she catches what was said. A message from sled "Duncan's Hex" is heard over the hangar floor speaker: Duncan says, "What did you say Control? I can't****breaking up****" Daron emerges from the ready room with purpose. Daron has arrived. Edwin waves at Daron absently. Daron winces at the buzzer, trailed by a couple meditechs. Setsuna smirks at Daron. Daron bristles at the recruit and pointedly ignores her for now. Cori nods in Daron's direction. Daron's response to Cori is neutral. Daron sighs at the thought of possible crashed sleds Edwin watches the radar. "That storm's hanging. Could get nasty." Daron sighs in a resigned tone. Edwin sighs as well. "This could get...odd." Edwin looks at the radar worriedly. "They're not coming in as fast as they should. And Telandra...well." His jaw tenses. Daron says "Is Rykos out there?" Edwin nods. "He went after Telandra." Daron says "figures." 2011> Edwin says, "All recruits of the Heptite Guild, please report to the hangar." Landrian emerges from the ready room with purpose. Landrian has arrived. Edwin looks worriedly at the radar, and grabs a microphone nearby. You hear a quiet tone on your wrist unit, and then a voice says, "A message to all on Ballybran from Edwin: All members of the Guild who are medically available, please report to the JPF Hangar to aid in unloading and retrieving Singers running ahead of a powerful storm.". Cori nods in Landrian's direction, gaze straying to watch the weather outside. Landrian says "I just checked the Met, they said storm? Is that right?" Edwin attracts your attention by bringing a bullhorn to his mouth. "Now... I will be directing the recruits during offloading of sleds for the duration of this storm. If you have any questions, please speak with me. "Your principle assignment is to very very carefully unload the cartons of cut crystal from the incoming sleds. One at a time. Don't think just because they have strong grips, those cartons can be slung around. The wind will whip away even the sturdiest grip in short order." Landrian's eyes and ears tell him, they were right. Setsuna grimaces Daron chuckles Edwin passes round protective head and eye gear and demonstrates how to put it on. "The winds will be very loud, dangerously so. In addition, klaxons and bells will announce incoming sleds and changes in weather conditions." Pointing to the overhead display, he explains, "Announcements will be on the NPC display near the ready room." Kevlan emerges from the ready room with purpose. Kevlan has arrived. Edwin's eyes widen just a bit at seeing Kevlan. He continues smoothly. Setsuna nods Tamber has arrived. Jerrik has arrived. Edwin says, "Recruits, you will concentrate on off-loading. Your responsibility is to transfer the crystal cartons safely inside. Any carton that comes in is worth more than you are! Basic Guild economics. Don't drop one or you'll have the Singer, me, and the Guild Master on your back -- the Singer being first and worst." Looking around, he asks, "Any questions?" * * * Outside the window is a marvelously bright, clear early winter day. * * * Edwin slips his protective gear in place. Kevlan mutters insistently as he follows Tamber and Jerrik into view. The two older men eye him somewhat worriedly, but Tamber hastens off to the sorting bay, and Jerrik keeps a firm grip on the young Singer's arm as he hustles him over to the rack of storm gear. A loud bell rings four times signally a level 4 storm. Hangar personnel dash around the floor looking anxious. Setsuna slips on her gear. Jerrik mutters, audibly to anybody within earshot, "Galahad, Berni's gonna kill me for this, but cursed if we can leave you alone down there - now stay out of the way!" Daron and other medics begin setting up equipment. Landrian gets into gear, making sure it's snug. Kevlan awkwardly tugs on the helmet the sled tech tosses him, and remains glued to Jerrik's side as the sled tech gets to work. * * * The room darkens as dark grey clouds cover the sky outside. * * * Edwin looks out the window. Daron mutters to the medics, "Not too nice." Tamber walks into the sorting area. Tamber has left. Cori likewise tugs her protective gear on, watching the numerous people rushing about the hangar. A message from sled "Alisyn's Memory" is heard over the hangar floor speaker: Rykos says, "'s voices fades in and out "JPF..shhk...in yet...zzzt...Tela..."" * * * As you look out the window, you see that the sky is getting darker, and everything seems almost frozen in its stillness. * * * A message from sled "Duncan's Hex" is heard over the hangar floor speaker: Duncan says, "...can you read me? I think I can see....south of me now! come in...." Landrian shakes his head hoping to make himself more alert, he puts on the headgear, and sighs with relief as most of the noise goes away. Setsuna shivers slightly at the forbidding clouds Jerrik scowls, as he gets the pings from two sleds at the same time coming in, over the radar. "Ah, freg, they're coming in close...!" A message from sled "Daedalus" is heard over the hangar floor speaker: Telandra says, "Telandra coming in...make room." * * * Outside the window you can see the first few large snowflakes begin to fall from the frozen steel sky. * * * A message from sled "Duncan's Hex" is heard over the hangar floor speaker: Duncan says, "Hey you fardling idiots there s another sled here... clear the....frigging control!" Kevlan tugs restlessly at the protective headgear. Standing near Jerrik, he looks rather uncannily similar to the throng of wide-eyed recruits on the floor. Telandra's sled has arrived. A sled with 'Daedalus' spelled out in bright paint on the hull slides precariously in for a landing. Cori shoves a hand through her hair, tucking it back before pulling the headgear on. A message from sled "Daedalus" is heard over the hangar floor speaker: Telandra says, "Who the Freg is that!" A sled with 'Duncan's Hex' spelled out in bright paint on the hull slides precariously in for a landing. Edwin nods at the recruits, and points. A warning claxon goes off and a bland voice announces that Bakkar has turned on the emergency beacon for his sled. Setsuna steps into the airsled "Daedalus." Jerrik shouts into the speakers, "Back up, Daedalus!" Duncan steps out from the cramped interior of the airsled "Duncan's Hex." Setsuna steps out from the cramped interior of the airsled "Duncan's Hex." Cori steps out from the cramped interior of the airsled "Duncan's Hex." Setsuna walks into the sorting area. Duncan glares at Telandra, "I might have known you were flying that sorry excuse for the sled!" Cori walks into the sorting area. Setsuna walks out of the sorting area into the hangar. Edwin yells over the wind, "Move! Come on! There are others coming in!" He eyes Duncan and Telandra curiously. A warning claxon goes off and a bland voice announces that Bakkar has turned on the emergency beacon for his sled. A single short whistle sounds and a bland voice announces that Bakkar has turned off the emergency beacon for his sled. Duncan gestures with his cutter, "Stay out of my damn way next time!" An enormous transport wagon rumbles into the hangar floor and deposits Bakkar's disabled sled with a sickening crunch. Landrian steps into the airsled "Duncan's Hex." Daron winces at the sled Telandra looks at Duncan, "I would if you wouldn't take up 2/3 of the bloody sky. Ever heard of coming in straight?" Duncan is caught up short in his tirade by the sight of the mangled sled. Edwin looks at Duncan, and then his attention is distracted by the wrecked sled. He says something VERY rude that the wind swallows up. Cori walks out of the sorting area into the hangar. Jerrik frowns at his display as the recovery crew brings in the _Zephyr's Infinity_ - looking surprisingly unscathed. * * * You notice that the snow is no longer falling straight down, but now angles to the earth as the wind picks up. * * * Setsuna stares at the crashed sled Daron steps into the airsled "Zephyr's Infinity." Darting from the shelter of one sled to another with a crate in hand, Setsuna accidentally bumps into a Singer with a ragged expression. The Cutter snarls at her, telling the recruit viciously to, "Watch it!!" before stalking out. Telandra rubs the back of her head and reenters her sled. Edwin prods Setsuna. "Go! Can you get in there and run retrieval?" he is pointing at the wrecked sled. Telandra steps into the airsled "Daedalus." Duncan turns to Cori, "YOU! where's my crystal, dammit!" Telandra steps out from the cramped interior of the airsled "Daedalus." Hanna walks out of the sorting area into the hangar. Setsuna shakese her head at the crammed sled From sled 'Zephyr's Infinity', Daron says "Let's get yuou out of here" Landrian steps out from the cramped interior of the airsled "Duncan's Hex." From sled 'Zephyr's Infinity', Bakkar says "The crystal....." Cori's eyes widen, a stutter find its way into her usually calm voice, "U-uh, I put it in there," she gestures vaguely in the direction where she came from. From sled 'Zephyr's Infinity', Daron says "The recruits will handle it" Edwin yells at Jarrik. "Is there crystal in there?" He means Bakkar's sled. From sled 'Zephyr's Infinity', Daron says "Come on" Telandra strides over to the radar screen, "Where is Rykos? Alisyn's memory." From sled 'Zephyr's Infinity', Daron has left. Daron steps out from the cramped interior of the airsled "Zephyr's Infinity." From sled 'Zephyr's Infinity', Bakkar shakes his head nervously, "Damn recruits don't know how to handle crystal properly. We all know that.." Hanna walks briskly into the hangar her eyes scaning the busy situation trying to make sense of everything. Daron calls to the recutis Daron presses a button on his wrist unit and speaks into it, summoning a gurney. Gurney 2 has arrived. From sled 'Zephyr's Infinity', Bakkar blinks his eyes and stumbles out of the sled. Setsuna steps into the airsled "Zephyr's Infinity." * * * You hear sleet pelting the window and when you look out you see nothing but a world of swirling white. * * * From sled 'Zephyr's Infinity', Setsuna picks up the carton, holding it securely to her chest. Cori scuttles out of the way as quickly as possible, hurrying to follow Setsuna to Bakkar's sled. Cori steps into the airsled "Zephyr's Infinity." Duncan glares at the Recruit and stomps out towards Sorting, his vivid curses swallowed up by the wind. Jerrik, as one of the meditechs takes care of the wrecked sled, turns to Kevlan beside him, and mutters something to him that is lost in the waves of sound roaring through the hangar. Kevlan nods anxiously, though, and the two men go to the recovered sled, to make _sure_ it isn't wrecked. From sled 'Zephyr's Infinity', Cori picks up the carton, holding it securely to her chest. Duncan walks into the sorting area. Setsuna steps out from the cramped interior of the airsled "Zephyr's Infinity." Edwin pokes Landrian. Landrian steps into the airsled "Duncan's Hex." Setsuna walks into the sorting area. Cori walks into the sorting area. Telandra continues to rub the back of her neck as she watches the radar screen. Edwin nods, watching, and hurries over to the radar screen. A message from sled "Alisyn's Memory" is heard over the hangar floor speaker: Rykos says, "...JPF...zzz...problems.....shzzk...no controls...sshzzz....landing.."" Jerrik mutters to Kevlan, "... you go, kid, you're okay, just stay..." Landrian steps out from the cramped interior of the airsled "Duncan's Hex." Setsuna walks out of the sorting area into the hangar. Duncan walks out of the storage area. Landrian trots over to Edwin "Yes, sir?" * * * You pause and look out the window to see that the snow is already piling up in drifts and covering small bushes outside. * * * Duncan steps into the airsled "Duncan's Hex." Gusting winds whistle over the partially opened hangar doors. The noise is unbelievably loud and fierce, and it becomes increasingly obvious why you need to have a protective helmet. A message from sled "Alisyn's Memory" is heard over the hangar floor speaker: Rykos says, "...ride it out....zzzk...updat..." Cori walks out of the sorting area into the hangar. Kevlan nodnods anxiously to his sled tech friend, and with slightly shaking hands, he helps Jerrik run the fastest possible diagnostic on Bakkar's sled before the two of them get the vehicle out of the way. Duncan steps out from the cramped interior of the airsled "Duncan's Hex." Edwin looks at Landrian, and points at the sleds. Kevlan blinkblinks, then, over his shoulder, at the transmissions from Rykos. Duncan walks across the noisy bay and into cargo storage. Daron pulls bakker onto the gurney Bakkar is helped onto the gurney by the medic. Hanna is slammed up against a sled while carrying a carton of crystal. Hanna feels something snap inside and realizes she has broken at least one rib, if not more. Kasie emerges from the ready room with purpose. Edwin curses, and looks over at Hanna. He summons a medtech. Telandra speaks into the main sled communication unit, "JPF Base to occupants of sled 'Alisyn's Memory', Rykos? Where are you? I can make a dash out for you. I'm at base now." Daron yells to Kasie. help Hanna! * * * The snow is about a half of a meter deep now and you can see it drifting higher against nearby buildings. * * * Cori's gaze sweeps over the chaotic scene before she murmurs to Setsuna, "What next?--anymore that need unloading..?" Kasie runs into the area, grabing a helmet on her way down, running straigt for the fallen Hanna. Edwin shakes his head, and points outside at the sky. Kevlan anxiously tugs at Jerrik's sleeve, directing his attention to the transmissions. Jerrik blinks, swears, and growls, "What the _freg_ is he doing out in a storm....?" Setsuna says "Dunno" Setsuna says "i'm too confused" Hanna feels herself sliding without control the helmet flung from her grasp before fully on her head and lays groaning on the floor. Telandra wathces the radar, "Dammit Rykos...why didn't you turn back?" A message from sled "Alisyn's Memory" is heard over the hangar floor speaker: Rykos says, "....stay there...zzzk...headache...shhzzk....come in JPF..." Daron crams a helmet on. Jerrik whirls, punching up Rykos's location hastily. Edwin gathers the recruit together, and waits for the next sled. A message from sled "Alisyn's Memory" is heard over the hangar floor speaker: Rykos says, "'s message gets devoured in static." Jerrik speaks into the main sled communication unit, "JPF Base to occupants of sled 'Alisyn's Memory', Hang on kid we're gonna get you in here don't worry!" Edwin yells at the recruits. "Take five. More on the way." Landrian slumps against the wall. Edwin looks at the radar. "Bloody Kali! Sasryn's out there." * * * The top of one of the drifts now reaches your window. You can see the whiteness creeping up the pane like some frozen tide. * * * Setsuna sinks to a chair. Daron says "Sas?" Cori finds a drink thrust into her hands and takes a large gulp of it as she drops into a spare seat. Daron shivers a he begins working on some of the less srious of Bakkar's wounds. Edwin nods. Jerrik whirls and orders Kevlan, "Duck, kid..!" as Bakkar's sled is hoisted into the racks. Azaria runs in from the ready room, wiping sleep from her eyes. Duncan walks out of the sorting area into the hangar. * * * Looking out over the hangar baffles, the sky is dark, cloudy and forboding. Grit blowing in makes it difficult to peer out but a determined look reveals the small bright pinpoints of white light of incoming sleds fleeing before the worst of the storm. * * * Jerrik bustles around the hangar floor and loads Bakkar's sled into the racks. Kasie drags Hanna out of the way, grabing her helmet and replacing it on her. Quickly giving her a hypo for pain, she pulls her over near the wall, talking to her quietly. Cori peers over at the body of Bakkar with unabashed curiosity. Eyes widen and a sickened expression crosses her face. * * * You see that the wind has lessened and once again the snow has changed to soft large flakes. * * * Azaria looks around at the mess in the hangar, nodding to Jerrik. From Gurney 2, Bakkar looks back at CCori and grunts. Duncan fights his way towards his sled, determination on his resonance crazed face. Azaria grits her teeth, making her way to Duncan. She shouts something he can't hear over the wind. Hanna sighs softly as she feels some of the pain ease from her bady, she looks up at kasie and asks something, most of which is lost in the storm, "....... how......?" Cori turns back to her drink, gulping down the rest of it. The glamorous life of a Singer? Maybe she should've gone back to Syrine. :) Landrian's eyes refocus as he takes a breath and gets up to go back into the fray. Duncan yells above the wind, "I have to see if... all out of the sled... fardling recruits...!" Setsuna smiles weakly * * * You see that less snow is falling now. It is very deep, in someplaces drifting almost two meters high! * * * Kevlan ducks as Jerrik loads the sled, and anxiously stares up at the hangar speakers as if willing Rykos to continue to transmit clearly. Azaria grabs Duncan's arm, trying to get his attention, then nods and moves toward the sled with him. Edwin seems to relax for a moment, and watches the radar anxiously. * * * The snow stops falling and occasionally the sun peeks out from the clouds. Everywhere sunlight hits a magical white scene appears. The glare is not so painful inside, but you know if you went out you would have to protect your eyes. * * * Duncan nods to Azaria and reaches the hatch of his sled A message from sled "Alisyn's Memory" is heard over the hangar floor speaker: Rykos says, "..zzk...JPF...shhzzk...come in..." Jerrik speaks into the main sled communication unit, "JPF Base to occupants of sled 'Alisyn's Memory', We're here Rykos - over." A sled with 'Uptight Heptite' spelled out in bright paint on the hull slides precariously in for a landing. Duncan peers inside and nods to himself, "Thank the lord, they got it all." Telandra continues to watche the radar screen, shaking her head. She brightens up as Rykos' message echos through the hangar. Edwin looks. "Recruits! There!" he points at Gyles' sled. Azaria makes her way back to the sled controls. Setsuna steps into the airsled "Uptight Heptite." Cori almost grins as she watches the snow, before she turns back and sees the scene--through somewhat hazy eyes. What was that? Gyles staggers tiredly from his sled, exhausted. "Damn storms!" Setsuna steps out from the cramped interior of the airsled "Uptight Heptite." Azaria grimaces. "Recruits, watch out!" she shouts as she works the controls. Cori shoves her glass into a recycling bin before staggering up from the chair and making her way to Gyles' sled. Setsuna walks into the sorting area. Landrian steps into the airsled "Uptight Heptite." Corbin shakes his head, and reminds Azaria that dirty sleds can't be moved to the rack until they are cleaned. Gyles turns and snarls, "Carry it carefully, it's all I got!" Azaria bustles around the hangar floor and loads Linanna's sled into the racks. Jerrik flashes a tired but relieved grin at Azaria as he finally spots relief techs coming in, then turns to grab Kevlan and haul him out of the way of an angry Singer storming out of a just-arrived sled. The Singer blinks, gives Kevlan a funny look, then stomps off to harangue the nearest Sorter. Duncan stands by his sled a few moments, a dull expression on his face. Landrian steps out from the cramped interior of the airsled "Uptight Heptite." Cori steps into the airsled "Uptight Heptite." Gyles steps out from the cramped interior of the airsled "Uptight Heptite." Landrian walks into the sorting area. Setsuna walks out of the sorting area into the hangar. Cori steps out from the cramped interior of the airsled "Uptight Heptite." Gyles steps from his sled tiredly and staggers to the wall to watch the unloading. A tiny Sorter runs about, and is almost flattened by a Singer on the warpath, reeling, bleeding from two head wounds. A friendly medtech slips the Singer a hypo, and he slumps to the ground. Hanna seeing the commotion about her tries to stand her eyes seeming to see yet not fully register everything about her. Azaria motions to a supply tech to move out of the way as she tries to move sleds around to make more room. Cori is blown over by a blast of dusty wind, sliding over the gritty hangar floor for a few meters. It is impossible to believe she could have escaped such a fall without a bloody scrape. A message from sled "Alisyn's Memory" is heard over the hangar floor speaker: Rykos says, "..zzk..thrown about..shzk...do this again..." His voice is a little strained but for the most part under control. "..much longer.."" Kasie lays Hanna back down, "No you don't Hanna, you have to stay still till so I can bind up those ribs. Duncan blinks at the sight of a Sorter and seems to visibly step over the edge of insanity. "Crystal! There is more out there I know it!" Setsuna looks disoriented Landrian walks out of the sorting area into the hangar. Cori draws a deep breath before standing, a nearby recruit assisting her. She murmurs a thanks that goes unheard in the noisy hangar. Hanna relaxes slightly under kasie soft voice and blinks looking at her... "But the crystal...." Edwin yells at Landrian. "Over there!" he points at Gyles' sled. Kevlan frowns vaguely to himself, still staring in the direction of the hangar speakers. Jerrik nudges him, hisses, "Galahad!" and directs his attention to the engine hatch he wants the kid to help him with. Landrian nods, buffeted by someone nearby as he heads that way. Gyles keeps a hawk's eye on his sled. "Careful with my crystal!", he roars over the wind. Azaria carefully directs the controls, moving the sleds over to the edge of the hangar to be cleaned. Edwin hammers on the radar, cursing fluently. "Rhiannon's marble bust! Where is..." Landrian steps into the airsled "Uptight Heptite." Telandra stares out the Hangar doors, hoping to see one last incoming sled. Landrian slips in a gust of wind and banging against a sled, almost drops the crate in hand. Two Singers suddenly erupt into fisticuffs over a carton of crystal and a recruit, and are only seperated by three large figures in Heptite Guild Security outfits. Azaria catches Landrian. "Be careful." Kevlan drops a sonic wrench, looks sorrowfully at Jerrik as he retrieves it, but the older man just nods gruffly and the two continue their hasty work before Jerrik pushes Kevlan back again so that he can get the sled loaded onto the racks. Setsuna steps into the airsled "Uptight Heptite." Landrian gets a better grip on the carton. Landrian walks into the sorting area. Hanna once again begins struggling slightly to get up, only to wince as her broken ribs bite at her insides. Setsuna steps out from the cramped interior of the airsled "Uptight Heptite." Setsuna bumps into Cori Cori's hand thrusts out, seeking to find something to steady her; not finding anything, she stumbles, knocking into a Singer who's carrying a carton of crystal. Azaria holds Landrian up until he gets his feet under him, then moves around the hangar, slowly, picking up flying cartons. Edwin somehow finds time to smile quickly at Kevlan, before another goddess' name is taken in vain as he watches the radar. Gyles steps up to the Singer to see if she is all right. She immediately begins to yell at Gyles for being slow and stupid, and shoves Gyles in the direction of her sled's cargo doors. Setsuna says "Sorry Cori!" Kasie says "Hanna, I'll give you something so you can't get up, each time you move you hamper the wraping." Gyles snarls back, "I'm not a fardling recruit!" Landrian walks out of the sorting area into the hangar. The Singer growls at Cori. "Watch yer bleedin' hands, ya bloody wench, or I'll take ya apart at t' seams!" Cori steadies herself, blinking as the Singer sends off a string of curses. She nods to Setsuna before stepping back, out of the way of the Singer. Kevlan blushes and ducks his gaze, but Jerrik catches Edwin's smile and returns it tiredly. Setsuna says "You all right?" A supply tech is blown into a sled by a gust of wind and lands hard on the floor, the wind knocked out of him. Hanna blinks slightly shaking her head,"But... I can't.... lay ...." Landrian steps into the airsled "Daedalus." Landrian steps out from the cramped interior of the airsled "Daedalus." Cori draws in a shaky breath. "I hope so," she replies. She blinkblinks, her vision growing hazy. A hand reaches out again for support. Daron helps the poor tech to a less windy corner Kasie nods her head, "You can and you will.' The tech hunches over, nodding thanks. Setsuna gives Cori the support she needs, looking for a Meditech, "Daron!" Gyles ducks a head into his sled, checking the contents. He seems to be satisfied with what he sees, because he promptly turns and strides into the ready room. Daron looks up Gyles ducks into the ready room, escaping from the swirling wind. Cori yelps! as a sharp pain shoots through her, stumbling further against Setsuna. Duncan gets into an inaudible but highly gestulative argument with a Sorter, who somehow manages to slip away from the Singer while he's distracted by a wind gust. Edwin wheels, looking at Setsuna and Cori. "Juno's _TITS_!" Setsuna gestures to Cori Edwin suddenly blushes BRIGHT red, and looks almost mortified. Daron hurries over dodging a couple laden singers Landrian shuts his eyes for a moment, trying to find calm. He doesn't succeed and stumbles toward a wall for support. Telandra turns away from her vigil when the commotion of all the various fights and curses finally sinks in. A single, long hoot fills the hangar signaling an incoming sled under complete control. One tired sled tech who just _happened_ to be looking Edwin's direction so that she could read his lips snickers wearily as she gets to work on the closest vehicle. Azaria manuevers Gyles' sled out of the way, shouting at two recruits and a slow sled tech. Daron presses a button on his wrist unit and speaks into it, summoning a gurney. Gurney 1 has arrived. Cori clutches at Setsuna, the room spinning wildy around her before she crumples into a small heap at the recruit's feet, groaning loudly. Daron says "Help me get her onto the gurney." Azaria moves Landrian out of the way of a flying carton. "Watch it, recruit!" Her voice is harsh. "We can't look out for you all the time." Cori is helped onto the gurney by the medic. Landrian nods, ducking out of reflex as he manages to stay on his feet. Daron pushes the gurney out of the room. A message from sled "Alisyn's Memory" is heard over the hangar floor speaker: Rykos says, "...come in...zzzk...come in.." As quickly as they can manage, Kevlan and Jerrik get the engine hatch closed on the vehicle they're attending. There's a reek of soured crystal - the Singer must have strained the vehicle's engine. A harried sled tech finally coaxes Duncan out of the way, pushing him gently but firmly towards the ready room door. Daron ducks into the ready room, escaping from the swirling wind. Kevlan looks up sharply again at Rykos's voice. Duncan ducks into the ready room, escaping from the swirling wind. Hanna finally focuses on Kasie's movements, and almost seems to realize that she is hurt. She finally relaxes watching the rythmic motions of her hands. Telandra too looks over at the speaker, then back out the Hangar doors. A series of three quick hoots fills the hangar signaling an incoming sled under control, but erratic in the fierce winds. Landrian hears it too, he gets out of the way of the incoming sled, clearing the rails. Edwin looks around, and clearly can be seen to say, "Bloody marvelous." Setsuna looks shaken Edwin grabs Setsuna, and pulls her over to the wall. Landrian walks over to the wall, out of the way. Setsuna follows unprotestingly Azaria grabs a supplier. "That way," she pushes him toward the wall. Telandra looks over at Kevlan, "Hes on the Radar!" A two man sled enters the cavernous hangar and hovers for awhile over the heads of scurrying hangar personnel and recruits. For all you can tell, the singers within are having an argument over where to land. Apparently having reached some sort of accord, the sled gently sets down near the exit to the ready room. Telandra treads over to the wall, out of the way. Landrian wipes his face, eyes darting about to keep track, in some small way, of the confusion. A sled with 'Diamond in the Rough' spelled out in bright paint on the hull slides precariously in for a landing. Kevlan nodnods slowly to Telandra, not saying a word. Diamond walks with just a slight limp. Diamond steps out from the cramped interior of the airsled "Diamond in the Rough." Edwin looks at Setsuna and Landrian. "Go! Go!" A series of five very loud hoots fills the hangar signaling an incoming sled potentially out of control. Setsuna steps into the airsled "Diamond in the Rough." From sled 'Diamond in the Rough', Setsuna picks up the carton, holding it securely to her chest. Setsuna steps out from the cramped interior of the airsled "Diamond in the Rough." Setsuna steps out from the cramped interior of the airsled "Diamond in the Rough." Azaria curses roughly. Landrian steps into the airsled "Smeghead." Jerrik grimaces - it just WOULD have to be Tance Vokrim - but the old man's sled is damaged, and it's his job to fix it. Grabbing Kevlan to keep him with him, the tech angles towards the vehicle. Sasryn steps out from the cramped interior of the airsled "Siren's Song." Tance bellows at the recruits, "Touch my crystal and I'll slice your heads, I swear...!" Then, with glazed eyes, he mutters angrily about sharding smegging blue. As Jerrik comes into view, he finally spots him, as well as Jerrik's tentative companion, and _that_ elicits a roar of "HIM!" Landrian walks out of the sorting area into the hangar. Sasryn stumbles out of the sled, holding a carton to her with one hand, while the other hangs limply at her side. Sasryn glares, trying to make her way to Sorting. "I have yellow! Shards... let me get it to sorting and see if it's ok!" Hanna nods slighlty, frowning as she realizes that she can't help with the unloading of the sleds. Her brows crease as she tries to figure out how to help out. Telandra says "Its fine Sasryn, your crystaly will survive crashes that will kill you." Jerrik is shorter than Tance, but built like a brick, and he unhesitantly shoves the Singer out of the way as he orders him, "Go soak, old man! He won't touch your crystal, promise!" Tance frowns... but subsides, and grumpily staggers off out of the hangar. Tance ducks into the ready room, escaping from the swirling wind. Telandra turns away from the younger Singer and looks over at Kevlan and Tance, then out the Hangar doors again. Landrian steps into the airsled "Diamond in the Rough." Sasryn sways on her feet, but still clutches her carton to her. "I gotta take it in myself. I have to know it's alright." Her voice is pleading, and her face is storm-crazed. Landrian steps out from the cramped interior of the airsled "Diamond in the Rough." Landrian is caught in the backwash from a sled's engines. From there, he is blown backward into another sled and hits his head hard. Jerrik wrinkles his nose, and almost smiles at his companion as they approach Tance Vokrim's vehicle. Kevlan nervously glances over his shoulder, but crouches down to help his friend with the work. Landrian crumples. Kasie shakes her head, "No Sasryn, I need to take a look at you." Kasie says "Soon as I get done, you can come back, I promise." A message from sled "Alisyn's Memory" is heard over the hangar floor speaker: Rykos says, "...h..holding..zzkt...clear hangar..." Telandra says "Kasie, the recruit!" Telandra gestures over to the crumpled Landrian. Sasryn takes advantage of the commotion to push past Kasie toward Sorting. An incredibly loud klaxon fills the hangar signaling an incoming sled completely out of control. The hangar officer bellows, "Danger: Incoming out of Control! Take cover!!" Landrian staggers, trying to get out of the way dispite his head.. hearing the warnings blaring in his skull. Kasie damns, "GO get her in the infirmary." she turns and darts over to Landrian. Kevlan looks up and urgently tugs at Jerrik's sleeve. The tech blinks, tells Kevlan firmly, "You stay right here, kid," and darts to move people and cartons out of the way. Sasryn walks into the sorting area. Telandra steps to the side and worridly watches the cavorting sled. A sled with 'Alisyn's Memory' spelled out in bright paint on the hull slides precariously in for a landing. Edwin, ducking as well as possible, tries to get to Landrian to see how bad he is. Setsuna walks out of the sorting area into the hangar. Hanna stays against the wall looking about quickly trying to keep track of everything. She watches after Sasryn's exit... From sled 'Alisyn's Memory', Rykos's sled comes careening into the hangar, sparks flying as its sapes along the floor. Setsuna aiees and runs for cover Telandra runs over to Rykos's sled almost before it stops moving. Kasie runs her scanner over Landrian, noting the lump on his head. Edwin dives out of the way of an errant sled part. Jerrik bellows, "Get those nets up to halt the thing!" Edwin slams the net trigger. An out-of-control sled careens into the hangar, SLAMs into the deck, and skitters to a stop periously close to the entrance. Hangar personnel quickly move the sled out of the way and over to the storage rack. Landrian swoons, fighting to maintain control.. he grits his teeth, managing a smile for Edwin. From sled 'Alisyn's Memory', The sled slams into the saftey nets, a crumpled ball of twisted metal. Telandra dashes over toward the mangled sled, "Rykos?!" Kasie says "Landrian, does it hurt bad enough for me to give you something for the pain? It looks like you will have a shiner but it hurt real bad." Edwin runs over behind Tela. From sled 'Alisyn's Memory', The is a faint banging from inside Rykos's sled, a panel near the door bulges slightly. Landrian wipes blood away from his eyes in an effort to see. "I'm alright, just stop the bleeding.." Daron emerges from the ready room with purpose. Azaria descends from the catwalk. Kevlan backs up against Tance's sled as if seeking shelter of some sort, but he stares intently at Rykos's crumpled vehicle. Telandra grabs the outside door and starts pulling on it. Landrian says "And help me get out of the blasted way!" Azaria returns with some tools. Without a word, she helps Telandra with the door. From sled 'Alisyn's Memory', There's a screeching sound of tearing metal as the panel from Rykos's sled is ripped from it. A slightly dazed Rykos stumbles out. Jerrik swears, but lets Azaria handle it, not wanting to get in her way. Rykos steps out from the cramped interior of the airsled "Alisyn's Memory." Hanna finally realizes that she can't be of much more use here slowly make her way toward sorting. She makes sure to take cover as each sled comes in... Daron thinks he'd better get out of here before there's any more chaos Daron ducks into the ready room, escaping from the swirling wind. Telandra tosses her tool to the side and reaches to support the stumbling Rykos. Rykos looks around a little dazed then smiles, "W..well that was fun." He leans on Telandra a little. "E..everyone else get in?" Kasie nods, cleaning the area and bandaging the injury. Azaria curses as the tool hits her, glaring at Telandra's back. Edwin finally steps away, pulls off his protective gear, and accepts a drink tube from a nearby catering assistant. He nods slowly to himself. Telandra holds Rykos, "I was back ages ago. You alright? Why the freg did you stay out there?" Kevlan blinkblinks over at Rykos, as if astonished to see him here. Landrian smiles, affording Kasie a quick look "Thanks..." Sasryn walks out of the sorting area into the hangar. Setsuna stumbles back into the hangar Hanna finally makes it to sorting and slips out of the hangar. Sasryn stumbles in, her arm dangling at her side. She runs into Kevlan, nearly knocking him over. Landrian stands. Rykos shakes his head, "Should have got that engine upgrade." Edwin chuckles finally, his dark hair sweatsoaked. Azaria picks up the offending tool and puts it away, catching furtive glances at Telandra and Rykos. Landrian steps into the airsled "Alisyn's Memory." With the baffles closed, Edwin musters the recruits not far from the medical station. Edwin watches the progress of the med techs carefully, nodding. Kevlan blinks, and awkwardly mutters, "'Scuse me," as he tries to help Sasryn regain her feet. Telandra says "You _should_ have waited for me here. The bug would have prodded me back." Landrian steps out from the cramped interior of the airsled "Alisyn's Memory." Landrian steps into the airsled "Siren's Song." Landrian steps out from the cramped interior of the airsled "Siren's Song." Sasryn mutters something, then looses all color and crumples in Kevlan's arms. Rykos shakes his head at the recruit, "Don't worry, there's nothing in there." He cast a glance over his sled. "Damnit, what a mess." Landrian steps back, dazed Edwin looks at Rykos. "It's good to see you more together, and the sled more apart. Kevlan blinks, and goes wide-eyed and pale at the woman that's fallen over on him. Maxwell emerges from the ready room with purpose. Telandra grins at Rykos, "That is gunna take a lot of polishing...come one you. You must be exhausted." Maxwell surveys the scene before him, eyes slightly narrowed. Kasie leaves Landiran and goes back over to Sasryn, "Sasryn, your going to the infirmary, now!" Edwin suddenly notices the Guild Master, and straightens. Tsia emerges from the ready room with purpose. Landrian nods to Rykos, "Glad you made it." He rescues a carton from another recruit, tipping it back into the recruits hands as it almost falls. "Hold on tighter there.." Kevlan blinks at Kasie around Sasryn and stammers awkwardly, "Sh... she jes' sorta fell... " A piercing whistle signals the weather all-clear. From sled 'Alisyn's Memory', The storm warning signals all stop and a green light is displayed on the console of the sled, indicating good weather. Maxwell stands in front of you, "Recruits, you have been of valuable assistance today. I thank you as does the cargo officer and the hangar personnel. Order whatever you would like from the catering unit, it will not be debited from your account." With a last look around, he says, "Class dismissed." Maxwell, in those terse words, nods politely to the recruits on the floor. Maxwell then turns, and eyes some of the Singers. Landrian lets out a long sigh, licking a thin trail of blood from his mouth. Jerrik blinks, first at the sight of Kevlan awkwardly hoping up Sasryn, and then at Maxwell. Telandra looks over as the voice of the Guildmaster sounds, then nods at him in acknowledgement as she supports Rykos. Azaria catches Jerrik's eye long enough to make a grimace at the mess of the hangar. Edwin nods at the Guild Master, respect in his eyes. Kasie moves over, looking up to grab a gurney. Kasie presses a button on her wrist unit and speaks into it, summoning a gurney. Gurney 1 has arrived. Maxwell strides over to the knot of Singers and medics near Tance Vokrim's sled. He nods back to those nods he catches, and when he stops walking, his glance falls on Rykos Knight and Kevlan Sharr. Telandra mutters to Rykos, "Guildmast... is..." Maxwell says quietly to the two, "I trust that if you both felt up to storm flying or storm duty, you will apprise the medics of the improvement in your conditions. The Guild needs you both whole." Kevlan turns white, still clutching at Sasryn. Then he turns red and nods hastily, mumbling something _sounds_ like "Yes sir," but it's stammered so badly it's hard to tell. Maxwell gives both Singers a significant glance before turning to find the ranking medic on duty. Tsia stumbles slightly as she makes her way toward Kasie. She looks bewildered, confused and a little scared. Kasie turns to Kevlan, "Kevlan, I know your not all that well yourself, but your the one holding Sasryn at the moment, help me put her up on the gurney? Daron emerges from the ready room with purpose. Jerrik appears once more at Kevlan's side, and eyes the boy concernedly. Daron looks around, at the settling chaos Kevlan nods timidly to Kasie, trying to help as best he can to lift Sasryn up where directed. Sasryn is helped onto the gurney by the medic. Telandra speaks to Maxwell, "Singer Knight is almost completely healed, he must have had clearance in able to fly." From Gurney 1, Sasryn wimpers as her arm is jostled. Edwin notes the Guild Master's attention turn away, and flashes a quick thumbs up to Setsuna and Landrian. Landrian nods to Edwin, confirming that the recruits have been dismissed. He heads for the door, stripping his headgear off the minute he's clear. He wears a satisfied smile. Setsuna pulls off her gear. Edwin strips off gloves absently... Landrian blinks. Setsuna sinks into a quiet corner to regain her composure first Kasie helps move Sasryn into the gurney, setting her arm so she can not move it. Maxwell, to the three medics he spots nearby, says gravely, "Please provide me with a report of the casualties." And, turning to Telandra, he adds, "Physical and psychological well-being is ideal for flying, Singer." Maxwell nods, then, and vanishes off quietly. Maxwell ducks into the ready room, escaping from the swirling wind. Landrian ducks into the ready room, escaping from the swirling wind. Tsia watches Kasie quietly while hugging herself. Telandra nods to Kasie, "As I said...he is almost healed." Kevlan, as soon as Maxwell is gone, shoots a panicked glance at Jerrik. Tsia looks around, bewildered and shook Azaria sighs, slowly moving about the hangar, retrieving discarded items. Kasie sighs, looking after Maxwell before turning towards the infirmary, "Tsia, help me? You where always better with broken bones than I. :)" Telandra looks at Kevlan then, "Thanks for taking care of him Kevlan, Rykos that is." Jerrik nudges Kevlan off a little ways, looks him up and down, and sighs. He plucks the young man's forgotten helmet off, and murmurs, "C'mon, Galahad... " Tsia turns to Kasie a moment and blinks several times before murmering, "A...a...alright." Edwin walks out tiredly. * * * * (OOC: Thanks to Tate, all the Singers, Daron, Tasmin, and Kasie, the recruits who made it, Azaria, Hanna, Guildmaster Maxwell for being his usual enigmatic self, and anyone else I missed.
