Log Date: 10/29/96 Log Cast: Zichri, Karga Log Intro: The Glider youth Zichri is an angry young elf. Pulled back into his normal self by his mother Alorn, with a bit of assistance from Neela, Zichri has become incensed that the persona of Elloquen was imposed upon him; he has stormed out of Blue Mountain, intending to learn whatever skills he can to come back and punish both his mother and Winnowill for what they did to him. He has stopped at Ravenholt and received a hostile reception; in fact, he has been shot at from behind. Now, remembering where he found the human girl he once tormented, Zichri has come to where Karga has her solitary camp, and has startled her by asking her to come with him on a journey.... ---------- Zichri says "Karga... I really do need your help... (then comes the icky word) Please." The young human -- arguably too tall, now, to be easily called girl -- scowls down at you, and crosses her arms where she stands behind her spear. Her amber eyes linger again on your now-short black hair, and study your features consideringly. Finally she barks, "Say to me why I should help you, floating one, when you have given me nothing but taunts and hatred and lies. What am I to you except an ugly beast with five fingers and round ears?" Her eyes are cold and hard, her voice equally so. Zichri sighs... "I do not consider you an ugly beast anymore.. your actually kinda nice to the eyes." Zichri says "Maybe I can help you in some way, if you will help me." Karga's mouth curls in a sneer that's strangely familiar for all that it's sitting on the broad, indelicate lips of a human female. Not a trace of sympathy exists in her stony gaze. "Say then how you think you can help me." Zichri pauses for a moment... Zichri says "I have not seen you among the humans of the tribe nearby... if you are not apart of them I could most likely help you join them." Her sneer doesn't alter. "And for what cause would I join the people who dwell in the shadow of your mountain-place?" Zichri says "Do you not wish for acceptance among your own people? Company? Something other than the quiet solitude you now endure?" Zichri stands finally and walks to you. Karga actually laughs, at that, harshly and bitterly. "My people? I have no people. The place where I was born cast me out. I have watched the village at the foot of the mountain, yes..." Her face shifts, strangely; there's a kind of febrile glint in her eyes, and a half-smile, half-sneer on her lips. "I have watched them bow to the floating ones, and jabber prayers of thanks to the scraps and castoffs _your_ people give them!" Zichri sighs.. then looks up at you with as innocent and sincere look as he can.... "Would you want me to help you kill my own kind? would that convince you to help me? Zichri says "If you can help me to where I need to go, after I am taught, I will make the elves of the mountain suffer... for the crimes against your kind and myself." That actually kindles a brighter flame in her gaze, and she leans down to you, face intent, amber gaze probing. "The elves of the mountain," she spits, her accent strange on those words even in her human speech, "make themselves as gods, and care nothing for beasts! Or _my_ kind! They put us into dark holes and except us to worship at their feet! _You_ are no different!" Without warning, she lunges, her hand reaching for the front of your clothing -- clearly she intends to grab you and lift you off your feet. Zichri doesnt get out of your way.. in fact he remains where he is until you've grabbed him and he watches. Karga lifts you with apparent ease -- evidently, solitude has not diminished her strength in the slightest -- till she's looking you right in the eye. "Do you know what I want, little floating one?" she whispers, still half-smiling. "Do you know what I have been doing? I have been training. For the hunt. And my prey will be the wolf-demons who killed my father and mother! You want me to help you? Show me these wolf-demons." As she speaks, her eyes blaze anew with that fevered light. Zichri smiles... "Then we can help each other out." Zichri says "But first... we need to get to where I need to get.." The human woman's amber gaze bores across the small space between her face and yours. "Where?" she murmurs, dangerously. Zichri's smile turns to a grin, as his eyes gaze into yours... "A place of elves... not the ones who killed your parents.. but ones hwo can help me.. and from there I will tell you how to find those who killed your parents. Karga appears to consider, and at last she summarizes, "I take you to this new place -- I hunt for you -- and in exchange, you give me the place of the wolf-demons." Her black brows quirk, as if by way of asking for confirmation. Zichri nods.. "Exactly." Karga then sets you down. Her eyes still blaze, but the light is stoked now, as though she's raked cooler ashes over dully glowing embers. "Then, little Zik-ree," she answers harshly, "I will help you." Zichri says "Then we should leave as soon as possible." [End log.]
